  1. Recently the parking sensors on our 54 plate Cmax Ghia have started to play up. The switch on the dashboard will sometimes illuminate and a high pitched "beep" can be heard as it does so. The parking sensors obviously don't work when the switch is illuminated. Then randomly the light will go out and everything works as it should again. However, the problem is getting worse. The switch is illuminated most of the time now and we have don't have working sensors! :( Anybody got any ideas where to start looking for a remedy? Maybe the dash switch? Any ideas/help appreciated.
  2. Thanks again Nick. I'll grasp it and give it a wiggle!
  3. I was gonna ask the very same question as lexal13. I really can't believe they don't illuminate, what were Ford thinking of? :? Can only be a nasty piece of cost cutting IMO.
  4. Dees of Croydon want around £350 for the 3 year service for my 2.0TDCi. A decent local garage (J&R Services) gave me a printout of their major service schedule. It is actually slightly more comprehensive than the Ford service, and costs £200+VAT inc. changing the brake fluid.
  5. Cheers for that Nick, but I've done this many times all to no avail. It works for a couple of times then lapses back to its old ways. Doh!
  6. Our Ghia has the one touch facility on the electric windows. The front passenger one however doesn't work on "one touch" mode. Actually, for the most part it will go down this way, but not up? It matters not whether you use the passenger or drivers door switch, its still unreliable. The local Ford dealer (Dees of Croydon) who you would hope would have at least some idea about servicing and repairing Fords - don't. Even after numerous "attempts" at fixing it ("we've reprogrammed it Mr Hayward) is the usual reply to every problem the car's ever had. :x Is there a fix for this problem, and just
  7. Our Cmax has OE front and rear sensors which seam to give good coverage, are reliable and work well when parking. However, when stationary at a junction or in a que of traffic, if a bus/lorry/motorbike goes past, or its raining the front one keeps going off and its really quite loud too! On the other hand, the rear sensor is so quiet you have to turn the radio down in order to hear it! Why the need for the volume to be reduced in reverse??
  8. Our original 205/55/16 Eagle NCT 5's were completely * * * *ged at the front in less than 19k! The rears are ok at the moment, so rather than mix tread patterns I fitted another pair of NCT 5's. £140 the pair fitted wasn't a bad price, but 19k is bloody rediculous for tyre life IMO.
