RTV

Not a major issue, but my 1.6 tdci makes a loud hum at 75mph, I say loud it's not amazingly loud but it is noticeable. Can anyone confirm if this is a characterisitic of the 1.6 engine or is something wrong with mine. Once you go over or under 75mph the noise subsides back to normal levels.

Must say mine's an extremely quite cruiser.... It's one of the first things that we noticed when we bought the car.

Good decision Tommy. I also bought my first Ford a couple of months ago, 1.6TDCI C-MAX, this replaced my Audi TT which I had from new. Bought my Fiancee a new A3 TDI and my self the C-MAX. I'm really enjoying the C-MAX, bought it mainly for it's practicality. I think Fords have come on leaps and bounds over the last few years.

Do you know where it's available. Other than Mobil does it have a name like SLX II or something similar?

What type of oil should I be using in my 1.6TDCI Cmax. Can someone suggest a make and a likely source. Is it fully or semi synthentic ? Cheers

TopScal, Is it exactly the same one, ie did you remove it from your C-MAX and install it in your Mondeo? I have ben told that they look the same from the front but are angled differently at the back and hence wouldn't fit?

Does anyone know if the Sony 6 play CD player that's available in the new Mondeo is the same as the one fitted in the C-MAX? I was wondering if the part numbers are the same and if they have the same surround ? My local stealer is pretty clueless... Any help would be grately appreciated. Cheers

Just spoken to the stealers today, and the engine cover on the 1.6tdci has been discontinued. BTW-it's only a plastic cover to make the engine bay more pleasing on the eye and has no acoustic properties what so ever...

Should the 1.6 TDCI engine have an enginer cover, a peice of plastic covering the engine hiding all the wires and bits and peices. In the manual it shows one but the two engines I have seen including mine don't have one?
