  1. Second post, first was the wrong spark plugs, anyhow had the car back a week and last night noticed several oil spots appearing. I called the dealership they picked car up and confirmed late this afternoon that there was a faulty crankshaft seal. Garage also made it clear this was not connected to the previous work they had to carry out after the wrong spark plugs were used (causing exhaust valve damage). Coincidence? starting to wonder, or just bad luck.
  2. I use the BBC listen again facility recently wanted to save one their shows so I used this digital audio editor 'Audacity'. All you do is start the listen again, then click record in Audacity, remembering to turn of any beeps from incoming email you may have configured as Audacity is recording all sounds from the PC, then once the radio show is finished export as MP3, and burn to CD. For further information go here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audacity Thanks, Jamesy
  3. I suppose the salesman was your typical salesman, just after the deal but paid little attention to detail and to be honest didn't fulfil what he said but as many here will say that's the norm!? And of course they used the wrong spark plugs! I should here tomorrow if they have fixed the car then I'm going to ask for indemnity or at cost to them I want an independent inspection. If I don't get this then I'm considering rejecting the car, but I'll post again once I hear to let you all know the outcome. I don't really want to reject the car because I part-ex and haven't the energy to start searc
  4. Peejay - Have you reported them? Here are some numbers: Customer Relationship Centre on 0845 841 1111 Or by post at: Customer Relationship Centre P.O. Box 25149 Glasgow G2 4XF Consumer Direct 08454 04 05 06 log a case. I think that may beat the Newbury Ford dealership using the wrong spark plugs!
  5. Thanks Matt & bryant for the messages. I think I will reject the car! I went for a cmax because of the price compared to a seat altea maybe I should of stuck with the seat.
  6. Found out today the Ford dealership had fitted the incorrect spark plugs. Damage to the exhaust valve but no further damage to the engine e.g cylinder block and pistons. However I know the repair should be successful but got a gut feeling to get a refund on the car. All confused and unsure what to do!?
  7. I paid £xxxx but the price on the invoice is less than this by £50 quid. I know what this £50 quid is but as the naive customer I thought this was being taken care of and therefore I didn't expect to this worked into the final invoice. Also the part ex price is less on the invoice. The salesman offered £250 more than this. This is partly my error for not getting the calculator out and asking why. I also must stress I have paid the price agreed but just wondered why the invoice is different. Hope that answers your question Monkeeboy?
  8. > In what way is the engine damaged? There could be debris in the cylinder head? I'm not technical but this sounds pretty bad? Only purchased the car last weekend. The spark plugs were too long, I've just picked them up from the dealership the car is being recovered tomorrow.
  9. Hello, Anyone ever had the wrong type of spark plugs fitted? Apprantely I have and they have caused damage to the engine. Also not covered by warranty, but fitted by Ford dealership. Any ideas on next steps? Thanks, Al
  10. I'm interested to know if the invoice you received from the salesman has been fiddled? Can't say to much for the time being but have my suspicions about one particular dealership.
