  1. Hi, just got my 6 month old 2.0 ltr c-max diesel back from the main dealers after complaining of only 28 mpg. They have installed the latest software updates, it now does 29.5 mpg!!! and now is as flat as a fart!! at low revs, untill that is the turbo kicks in, you are then launched forward like a bl..dy missile. I never did rate this car, now i hate it with a vengence, its crap. Anybody thinking of buying one be prepered to be dissapointed and very frustrated with Ford dealerships..
  2. Thank you for the replies i will take it in next week and see what they will do.
  3. Hi I have a 2.ltr Zetec diesel with 5500 miles on the clock it does short runs only, mainly 10/15 mile runs at a time. It is returning 28/29 mpg at the moment, i have had up to 39/40 previously in the warmer weather. The ford dealer says "if there is no engine warning lights showing then there is nothing he can do about it as he would not know where to start" My question is, what would be a fair mpg expected for short cold journys and what should i do with the dealers response? thanks.
  4. I have owned from new a C-Max 2 ltr tdci zetec and have done 3500 miles, over a mixture of town and fast A roads it has settled down to 36.5 mpg brim to brim (don't trust the trip computer) I think this is rubbish and told my local Ford dealer who just told me "theres no updates for my car and to see how it goes" Although there is no motorway driving so far, i still think it should do more. Oh and i do not drive like a pillock. Should i be satisfied with mpg?
  5. Owned this c-max 2.ltr tdci zetec since May 05 and only covered 3,500 miles and i have to say they have been the most uncomfortable 3,500 miles ever! the seats are rubbish why make a car that goes like the clappers and then put in seats that leave you hanging on to the steering wheel and your left leg jammed against the gear stick housing just so you can get round a bend, i suppose it was some very well paid highly educated person at ford who thought of that one. The only good part of this car is the engine (fantastic) the rest of it is crap! i have owned well over 40 cars in my time and thi
  6. Nice looker!! How do you clean those alloys? cleaning inside those spokes looks teadious, is it bad for brake dust?
  7. hi jakx sorry cannot help with your problem but any chance of scanning in the autocar long term test on the c-max that you have?
  8. Yep makes sense, thank you. I will probably be ordering Friday.
  9. This week i am about to order a new C-MAX 2.0 ltre diesel (or that was the plan) which i will not collect untill May but having read all the scary and negative postings on this and other sites i am having very serious second thoughts about the Ford. I cant believe a car can be so rubbish and have so many faults as people are reporting on this site. Are Ford doing anything about these faults? and are the cars being manufactured now better than previous ones. Do they come out from the factory now with all the proper upgrades etc. Even my local Ford main dealer service manager says he would'nt to
  10. Help! Cant decide what mobility car to get next, its between a Ford C-Max 2.0dti (135bhp) zetec and will cost £900 advance payment. A new Ford focus zetec 5 door hatch 1.6 standard engine (100bhp) (£800) Or a new whizzpopper Astra 1.7 cdti Estate (100bhp) (£450) I have run a Focus zetec 1.6 petrol for the last 3 years and enjoyed the car but found the engine a bit lacking. The c-max seems the favourite at the moment but do you know any real faults. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.
