If the vent control is pointing to windscreen a/c will come on. Just point it a bit to one side and all will be fine. Mike

Thinking of changing cars again. CMax Ghia Ultima in Panther Black, regd 31/3/05, 8500 miles, 2nd owner, was dealer demo car. The Dealer I bought it from is offering £11k trade in and says it would go on forecourt at £12,250. Local Volvo main dealer would offer £10k trade. Do you think those are fair prices? What might I get private sale? Any thoughts welcomed. Mike

Factory fit alarm system Question
mandarin replied to Robertminchin's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
On mine if you deadlock - 2 presses of the remote - there's a delay of 30 seconds before the ultrasonics switch on. If you just press the remote lock once, the car is not deadlocked and ultrasonics stay off. However, there is a switch the dealer can add to the blank plate on the drivers door which allows you to override ultrasonics. I was quoted £60 to have it fitted but also told some alarm modules may not recognise it and would also need replacing at additional cost. I chose not to bother. So you can do what you want but at a cost. Mike -
Have a look at the citroen C6 - might changr your mind!

No - I won't buy another C-Max. I've got the Ultima with all the toys but the number of niggly faults I've had has taken it of my next car list. Noisy door seals (still not quiet enough), clock still not working, dash rattles, aircon failed, starting problems, drivers seat replaced - to name a few. It's got / had just too many problems to recommend it. Would I buy another Ford? I doubt it. Service from Main Dealer for servicing has been poor. Next purchase? Probably a Toyata or Citroen (stands back waiting for flack !!!) Mike

It's worse if you have a rear window open - which you need for the poor dog in the back! Far worse than anything else I've ever driven.

I've used the JVC GR D290AG for the last year and picture quality is superb. I also bought the 3hr battery which unsurprisingly lasts 3 times longer than the standard 1 hour. Takes stills as well to SD card. That's a EU number, I think UK may have different letters. It was also voted "Best Buy" in one of the video mags. Not sure if its still about but worth having a liik. I compared it to loads of others including Sony but this one one on all counts. Mike -
pichacker If I set the clock it takes about a week to get to being 2 minutes slow and then stays there. Dealer tells me the RDS updating is not there, just have the manual adjustments in the extended menu for date and time. I'm not getting the cold crank reset as the clock keeps the time on display, albeit wrong. I've tried setting the clock whilst on different FM stations and also whilst on MW, doesn't make any difference. Mike

RTV I'm not annoyed at all, but I do find it frustrating that a company with the resources of Ford can sell a £20k car and not be able to get something simple like a clock to work properly. You use your watch and I'll do what I want to do. In any case if you bother to read what was written you'll see you are talking nonsense - which bit of "I'm not driving 2 hours" are you struggling with?
-
orei i set the date and clock on 27 march, dealer had applied the fix but didn't bother setting the time or date. I understand from Mastertech (above) that RDS updating was cancelled in one of the updates - which dealer says has been applied to my car already. I've never had so much aggro or spent so much time trying to sort out just two tiny minutes. Mike

Mastertech Thanks for the confirmation - dealer still insits it uses gps !!! Tsb 41/2004 has been done, 11/2006 they say relates to the clock resetting only, which I'm not getting. I wonder if you know, why do they need to see the radio before they order another one? And, is that likely to cure the problem? I know it's only 2 minutes but something this simple should be easy to fix - or never have been wrong in the first place !!! Thanks Mike

Had an update in Feb to fix the clock running 2 mins slow - didn't work - and another on 27 March. Sony single slot cd MP3 unit. Dealer says will need new unit but can't / won't order unless I take car in for model number to be looked at. Say VIN, radio type number and serial number not good enough. This apparently is because although the dash module has been updated the radio is not reading the time properly. As it's a 2 hour round trip not happy. Turns out - wait for it ... (Dealer) "it shouldn't be happenning as its kept accurate by GPS and if you go abroad it will automatically up

Ghia Alarm - Goes off when it likes
mandarin replied to 4-candles's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
I've asked my dealer about this - they say no such thing exists. I'd like one fitted as I often leave poochy for 10 mins and prefer to deadlock. Don't suppose you know a part or kit number? Mike
