New C-Max, 1000 mile check - Brake pads 10% worn - Normal?
MAX replied to Ravenger's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
Mine has done 21000 and front and rear pads and discs are fine. Must be a gentle braker!! Rich -
Quick update on this........... Took it in to the dealers yesterday informing them of tsb11/2006. Picked it up later that afternoon only to find that it still has the same problem!!! Went straight back into reception and read them a verse from the riot act, got a load of kangaroo and bull about them forgetting to adjust the clock after they had 'fixed' it. Twenty minutes later after another check over by a tech I am informed that the instrument cluster is faulty and a new one needs fitting  Booked in next week........... Stay tuned Rich BTW My new avatar is what I feel like

All of a sudden whenever I start up, the radio clock resets itself to 01.00!!! Any ideas? I guess I'll be taking a trip down to the dealer soon Rich

Is it just my car or does every c-max get an annoying 'shuddering' of the air in the car when you drive above 40ish with the window open? Rich

My beloved c-max went in to my dealer on Monday morning to have the revised parts fitted to cure my creaking suspension, picked it up Monday night and it drove sweet as a nut. Drove it to work this morning and low and behold as I'm driving along the brake warning light starts flickering and then stays on, said to myself I would check it out on my break, break came and what did I find.....................The stupid people had left the brake fluid reservoir unbolted and it was hanging down, leaking fluid everywhere!!!!!! I was agast at the thought of not having any brakes because the day befo

does the new cd41 upgrade give better fuel economy at the expense of performance? is there any noticable difference? I ask because my max is booked in for monday and if I can get a better return on fuel by getting this upgrade then I shall get it done Rich

Anyone need a towbar for their C-Max?

Dennis, how much for the clear indicators mate? Are they new? Rich -
The wife went to Manchester airport last night and picked up a puncture on the motorway!!! She managed to change it on the hard shoulder (I was amazed too!!!) and when she got home I had look at it. All I could see was the littlest hole right on the side wall. Took it to ATS today and they said they couldnt fix it coz she had driven on the tyre when it was flat, what a * * * *, a perfectly good tyre with loads of tread (was on the rear) basically scrap. Cost me £85 for a new one - Goodyear eagle nct5. Thats my week off to a flyer!!! Rich

Cheers Bud, thought it was that but also thought it would have been bigger!. Why the hell does it have to be a 27mm nut on it??????? Rich

Creaking noises from suspension/power steering
MAX replied to MAX's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
cmax bck took mine into my local dealer (bramall quicks), they had it for a day and said they couldnt find anything wrong with it. Armed with your info I shall be hot footing it back to them this week to see what they can do. Thanks Rich -
As title, I have noticed recently that I have funny 'creaking' noises from either my front suspension or the power steering. Definately more noticeable when stationary and turn from lock to lock but seem to be able to here it now while driving slowly. Any ideas guys and girls? :D Rich Forgot to mention its a 1.6 tdci 54 plate. cheers.

MAX replied to shrops_paul's topic in MK2 - Ford Focus 2005 > 2011
tbh I dont think that is too bad. just had the wifes clio in for its first service on thursday last week and that cost me £171 !!!! I think that is dear for a first service bud. So £160 for a second service dont seem that bad. -

Just got 415 miles from brimmed full to the fuel light coming on. Is it just me or is that a pretty poor return? Did a trip on the m way and mainly normal driving. What do you guys normally get? Rich
