  1. Should add that on our LX we don't have the bulb failure warning system. If when you wire yours up the warning lamp comes up with a trailer lighting board connected then you will need an adapter that stops this happening. This will require a permenant +12v feed, but this can be found at the accessory plug next to the boot light. HTH Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  2. If it was a film on the inside of the glass it would feel different to the front windows. Find a tinting chap with decent stock and I am sure he could match it. Although a lighter tint would be a good idea so as not to attract attention from the boys in blue! Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  3. I wired ours up last week. I could not find a trailer plug :( I ended up taking the wires direct to the wiring loom on each side. I took the socket wiring loom up through a gromet on the floor in the corner of the car on the NS. I picked up the brake, fog, NS indicator & NS side light at the back of the NS light. I then took the OS indicator & OS side light wires to the loom that I was able to get at by removing the cubby hole cover above the boot light. I earthed the socket by drilling a hole a double skinned part and using a ring terminal & self tapping screw. Hope
  4. Weird thing is that the back bumper looks spot on! Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  5. Interesting, I thought our front bumper may have been resprayed as the colour is not perfect but I could not find any evidence of this being done! But you are saying it is a standard feature :? Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  6. What does SSM stand for? My C-Max is going in for wiper recall on Saturday and I am going to ask about SSM 18122. Would like to sound like I know what I am talking about  Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  7. We are borrowing a caravan in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if anyone here has towed with there C-Max? And if so, how does it tow? Should be OK as caravan is 1150Kg loaded and our 1.6 TDCI can tow 1300kg. Cheers Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  8. Our 04 1.6 TDCI seems to average 45MPG. This is in rush hour traffic and in town so we think it is spot on. Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  9. RTV I have e-mailed you some photos of the sensors fitted to our C-Max. I have also updated my Web site to show the sensors fitted on our C-Max. Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  10. I know where you are both coming from. I think that if you fit this to one car you will have to have them on every other car you ever own until the kids leave home :!: Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  11. I have just had a look at the roof lining in our C-Max and it is a very sturdy head lining that looks like it would easliy hold a roof mounted DVD player. This is the sort of of thing I do or you could contact a company like Ian Banning's in Guildford, 01483 301500, for a quote as I know they do this as I worked there. HTH Andy www.trimwizard.co.uk
  12. We had problems with our windscreen leaking. This was due to it being replaced at some point in the last 10 months. Is there another dealer you can take you car to? Andy
  13. Chris Ours must be OK then. As it seems OK :D Cheers Andy
  14. As we have an LX we don't have the MPG thingy. I do it the old fashioned way. Fill the tank to the top, reset trip meter, use the fuel, refill. Multiply the litres x 0.22, this convert litres to gallons. Then divide your miles by your gallons and you get the MPG. Is the trip computer accurate? Andy
  15. This is one of the items I supply and fit. I fitted a front and rear set to our family C-max. 4 rear eyes went in the black/grey lower part of the bumper. 2 Front eyes go in the plastic above the front fogs. Front ones are switched by a switch on the dash. Have a look on my web site for examples of these sensors www.trimwizard.co.uk I can send pics of what they look like on the C-Max if required. Andy
  16. Does the flat spot problem only effect the 2.0 TDCI engine? Andy
  17. We have had our C-max 1.6 TDCI LX for 6 weeks now and apart from a water leak caused by the windscreen having been replaced by a gibbon :2gunfire: we are very pleased with the car. Reason for posting this message is because I thought it would be nice to have a thread about how good the C-Max is :D Ours does 45+ MPG, drives very well, is very practicle. We love it. Have fitted a tow bar and will be towing a caravan within the next few weeks. I only hope it it as good at towing as it is at everything else. Cheers Andy 54 C-Max TDCI LX 53 Kangoo Van 80BHP (Wow) 91 Golf GTI
  18. Do you need all 4 keys in the slots at once Yes you do.
  19. Where are you? I am near Farnham in Surrey and have a set of keys.
  20. Check with your insurance company before tinting your car. On my wifes previous car we had it tinted and then told the insurance company. We were told we were no longer covered and had to rearrange cover :!: Strange thing is though that NU did not mind about having my MK2 Golf GTI tinted :P I know that some people would say don't tell the insurance company, but if you don't, and then have an accident you may find that when the car is examined by the insurance company they with draw cover :? Then you had an accident as an uninsured driver! Not good. Andy
  21. I just use a damp cloth to remove water marks on the seat cloth. Cheers
  22. We recently bought a 2004 54 reg C-MAX CDTI and were very pleased with it untill it rained and the drivers side footwell flooded  Fault turned out to be caused by the windscreen having been replaced badly :( This has been sorted and we are once again very pleased with the car. On the plus side we took the car on a family camping trip loaded fully and were gob smacked that the extra load made no difference to the performance :D Cheers
