  1. I've been only been driving my car at 4 mph since I got because of that damn noise. Maybe I should put my belt on. I mean, after 1000miles theres a tail behind me as far as the eye can see....
  2. Just did Basingstoke to Rainham and back. No aches no pains and 52.7 mpg. Comfort, fun even with my old knob
  3. Who is that wells guy. Sounds genuine to me. I've just made a bid via the email. Sounds great. Have no idea why I would want to "unlock my dash" but there you go
  4. AlunS is absolutely right and I would be ashamed if anyone here deliberatly chipped their widscreen with such an aim in mind. Its too obvious. This is how I got my new car paid for by the insurance. Absolute fluke it happened. I was polishing my knob when "whumpf" up she went. What were the odds just as I was buying my new car?
  5. I've been out all day in sunny Essex. My new appendage has arrived thoughand I will be fitting it first thing Sunday morning. I tried it tonight but it was taking too long and I seemed to have an awful lot of bits left over as you can see....
  6. You're not going to go all premature on me are you with all the excitment? Got an email telling me it went in the post today...with an apology. So I might get it tomorrow. I'm more of a rub man than a pull man. It buffs the shiny end up nicely so you can see your face in it.
  7. Ah! A man from the Stan Collymore school of car care... Actually my wife had a test drive in the KA that Dennis has. Very pretty, very nippy but when my son , 6ft 3 ins, sat in it he had to almost bend over double...very small
  8. Its like a sex change operation....and you'd need one to be seen in a car like that
  9. Many thanks £42 + VAT not bad considering. The guy couldn't tell me if it included the rear sills as well I presume just front
  10. Got a part number for that? I suspect a second mortgage to buy them but they look OK
  11. Dennis has this obsession with plaice, chips anything to do with the traditional British takeaway. I think he means place a substantial slice of potato in the engine compartment until its cooked. At least I think thats what he means. Now Cata has the bug as well....
  12. They look Ok ebay has loads but the quality ones are a bit more expensive. As I said before the Richbrook ones are fairly substantial stainless steel and cover more than the Ford ones by the look of it. They are about £32
  13. ...which you can always spread on the rear wheel arches...not forgetting the brown bread of course
  14. You only get the battered sausage and mushy peas on the Ghia though
  15. Trouble is at ford prices and the fact that none of them do the job of protecting the sill I'd rather pay £32 and fit the Richbrook ones.
  16. Thats what I thought. Cosmetically they look nice but they need to cover all those little bits. Which I think the black Ford ones at least did? Still not worth £65 though
  17. Has anyone fitted those nice shiny door sill plates, Richbrook seem to be the shinyist although there is a small "Richbrook" insignia on them. It finishes the car off nicely and I didn't like the black ones that Ford supply
  18. I'm thinking "road noise" elimination so a few minor gaps wouldn't present a problem as you say. cheers
  19. Its interesting how simple that is Dennis . Didn't you get a heated screen fitted instead of a normal one when it broke?
  20. Cat, when you mention the "boot floor" did you put the insulation all over the boot floor. I know it sounds obvious but trying to work out how much to buy......
  21. On the same subject but a different car. My Passat, which I have just replaced with my new C-Max Zetec, would actually stop accelerating altogether. . regardless of the revs if I tried to accelerate in too high a gear 4th or 5th at too low a speed the engine would drop its revs to about 1700 and nothing I did on the accelerator changed anything. It was like it had locked up at that rev range. Only way to fix it was to stop, duh, and turn the engine on and off. Diags would show an ECU error but not much else. I had a new MAF fitted buit its still happened It was very very rare but it always hap
