  1. Yep this happens with mine some times it take two attempts. This only happens on occasions and has nothing to do with the weather (temp)
  2. Hi, I’ve a Mk2 with a standard Ford 6000 Radio\cd player. The one with the CD\DJ button. I’ve been noticing for a while when I’m driving long journeys and I have the radio switched on all of the time and eject the CD to insert a new one, the CD is red hot nearly to the point of been too hot to touch. This is starting to worry me now and I’m concerned of it been a fire hazard. You don’t need to be using the CD player for this to happen, the CD just has to be sitting in the player and the radio turned on. Can someone check this out for me on their MK2 and get back to me or has anyone else noti
  3. Hi, I bought ford-parking sensors for the back of my mk2 today. There are the original parts from the dealer. I need to know were abouts the little buzzer and the module go. Does anyone have these factory fitted. If so can you check were they go and let me know or post a pic up for me. I’m sure there is spot some were in the trim I just can’t find it.
  4. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But I taught the leaking problem around the filter was with the mk1 only. Have they not sorted this with the mk2.
  5. Hi, I’ve got a Zetec and I get a warning message for all open doors and luggage compartment. But when the bonnet is opened I get not message on the computer. On the owners manual it says I should. I’ve always wondered about this!! I checked out behind the lock on the bonnet and found a wired plug there (not sure what is for). I also noticed that the socket it’s connected into seems to be a dummy socket as there are no pins in it for the plug to connect to complete the circuit. It’s quite hard to get a good look at this you will need a small mirror and a flash lamp to see inside the socket. I
  6. I had my tie-rods replaced and it fixed the problem straight away.
  7. Hi, I have a mk2 focus which I purchased in September. Lately I've noticed a clicking, or cracking noise coming from the front driver side of the car (20,000 km). I brought it back to the dealer and they told me that the “tie rods” need to be replaced. The dealer told me I’m not the first person to come back with this problem. Most of the mk2’s they sold are coming back with the same problem. Seemingly ford is not going to recall the cars for this problem as it is not a safety hazard. But they have modified the part to fix the problem for anyone who brings it back to get them replaced. Has a
  8. Yes the same thing happened to me I drilled a small hole on the inside of the plastic trim were it cant be seen. I than got 2 strong cables ties and tied the trim to the metal piece on the side of the seat, were the trim is meant to connect to. I haven’t had a problem since. It is actually more secure now than it was before.
  9. Hi, Has anyone out there got a problem with there 6000 RDS In-dash CD and radio keeping the correct time on the display? Since I purchased my mk2 about 2 Months ago the time on the radio display has been 10 minutes slow. This is stating to * * * * me off now a little and I want it fixed. If you scroll through the menu on the radio it gives you an option to set the time. Than when I set the time it’s fine until I turn the ignition on and off again and its loses its set time and reverts back to been 10 minutes slow again. I think it may be picking the time up over the radio’s am/fm signal wave
  10. I have a Mk2 and I noticed my washer bottle was leaking from day one. I flows down the front of the wheel arch and falls a couple of inchs in front of the wheel. As the level falls it stops leaking so I figue it is coming out of the joint in the neck of the bottle. I have never brought the car back about this problem and i dont think I'll bother because I dont want a small problem turning in to a major one. I'd rather buy the bottle and replace it myself.
  11. I called into the dealer today and they checked out the brakes for me. They seem to think that the brakes are fine and that's how they are meant to feel. The Only other things I can think of doing is finding another mk2 like my own and compare them both together. Maybe I'm still not used to the new car yet.
  12. I'm running drums on the rear. Might bring it to the dealer today to have them checked out if I get time.
  13. The brake fluid is fine. Yeah they feel very spongy.
