  1. Hi chaps Same problem here. Havent investigated it yet, but assumed it to be air shifting one of the many bits of plastic in the engine bay. Other thing I thought of was possibly a heat shield flapping. Will have a good look at the w/e.
  2. After washing the car today I started to nose around a bit more for an easy way of routing my 12 power cable for my ice install. Not sure if this has been posted before, but heres my solution. At the rear of the engine bay, attached to the firewall, you should see a thick wedge of cables entering a large pretty solid looking grommet. The cable can be passed through here with ery little effort and fished out from behind the dash after feeding enough in. Needless to say the photo isnt brilliant, but I'll do a full write up of my findings in future. ...and yes that is a length of mains flex
  3. Almost picked on of those up myself when I first got the car, but wasnt sure whether the bumper would allow it.
  4. Whilst I have no intention of imposing any performance overhauls on my car, I do like it to be a little less joe bloggs. Looking at the end pipe on the new focus, it is tucked just inside the rear bumper and curves ever so slightly downwards. Has anyone fitted an exhaust trim to the stock exhaust (1.6) without modifying the rear bumper? I am happy to shave a small amount from the end pipe itself. Many thanks
  5. I have asked this before, but am a little confused at this stage. Does the 2005 focus take a 17cm spkr without an adaptor, or does it require the same Mondeo adaptor used in earlier foci?
  6. If you use the c-max fascia, you can squeeze two HUs in there. Empasis on the word squeeze however. I used a c-max fascia in mine and the HU is in the top half. It was tight to get in, but I find that reassuring really. If you dont mind filing down a few areas behind the existing fascia you could reduce any resistance when trying to get your head unit in, but you can get away without doing this, which to me smacks of being the better option.
  7. Just starting to get things together to do my ice install and wondered if anyone has already done an 05 install could give me some ideas as to cable lengths required front to back. I would like to try and get an accurate-ish idea to avoid lots of coiled cable.
  8. I too have a 1.6 sport. I was a little disappointed for the first moth or two, but its loosened up a bit now and has 'enough poke' for the less discerning car enthusiast. Comes into its own on the motorway IMO. Most of its power seems to be directed higher up, and the ride seems a fair bit more secure than my Fathers 04 1.6 Ghia.
  9. I am sure this is considered taboo/grandad/etc...., but I was hoping to stick some nylon seat covers over the front seats of my new car. I plan to keep it for a while and noticed that my last car was starting to show signs of fading/dicolouration when I sold it. I am sure somebody will have seen the sort of thing I mean. A large nylon sleeping bag essentially, in grey/navy/black.....not decorative, but protective? I have read in one or two places that these will not work with motors that have airbags in the seat. Judging by the tag on the side of my seat, I am guessing I have an airbag the
