just fitted my newly purchased scuff plates. £50 from Ford with c-max engraved. chrome/stainless very nice looking and easy to fit. well recommended :wink:

Hi..Harpo Ref. chromed plates. Are they real chrome or made of plastic with a chrome looking finish? I purchased one for the rear plate and it was plastic with a chrome looking finish which after a few weeks started to peel off. Really nasty!! Cheap!! Cheers Scott ps bought mine off eBay to

for £125 yes you get the oil change and as somebody has said, the pollen filter. Now I am wondering what else for a 1st service? Maybe I should get a haynes manual. I will look at the books i was given when i bought the car. I hate to be ripped off! I need to know if these things have been changed and done. If I was having an air filter change i would be the type to mark the filter with tipex so I know they have renewed it. Maybe I am being tight with my wad lol Must find out what is checked and renewed for 1st service and i will mark them to see later if they have done the job. Gaz..yes S

hmmm i believe it has to be Ford registered..i haven't been told different. Quentin Wilson says you are better off serving the car yourself and keeping the receipts than worrying about service books stamps but maybe that was for an older car? Can't remember :roll:

Ok I have 2004 1.6 Zetec TDCI Due its 1st service and I have been quoted £125 Apparently this and oil/filter change. NOT an air filter etc change. So I get an oil change for which I could do myself for no more than £15. What else is involved in this 1st service? Can anybody reading this give me a valid reason other than a reccommened Ford dealer stamping my book to cover my 3 yr warranty? Thanks

Thanks both. Ref. engine cover. Seems our model didn't come with one. So why worry? :) I was only concerned 'cos I noticed my friends 2 Litre model came with one. I can see the places on the engine where it attachs to. Ref. sills. they are the ones I am looking at and I am considering buying. They will be worth it as my g/f catches her heels lots of times when getting in/out of car ;) cheers

See Max..Not sure you will get this after all this time. Did you manage to find out if your car comes with an engine cover? I purchased my 1.6 Zetec 1.6 tdci fall of last year, its a 2004 model and didn't come with the cover. My friends 2.0 model has a cover. As yet I haven't looked into it. Ref. your protrective sills, did you find suitable ones? I have seen them advertised on Ebay. I am thinking of getting a pair but not sure which are the best quality. Scott

Just been quoted £125 all in..for 1st service on my 1.6 zetec tdci 2004 model That is a registered Ford garage in Barry South Wales. Evans Halshaw quoted me £139. So not bad considering what others I have read above :mrgreen:

Hope you sorted the problem out Smile. My Cmax is 18 mths old and bought it at 9 mths. A friend who has the same model had the same problem. It is a common fault and should be under warranty. An additional part was ordered for the disc callipers plus new pads :) Cured the problem. ;)

2004 C max Zetec 1.6 tdci came w/out the panel cover that covers the engine. I haven't found out how much they cos from Ford yet. Does anybody know how much they cost or/and if I can get a near new one for a fraction of the cost? Cheers Scott (Cardiff)
