  1. You may have seen that I was waiting for 4 months before cancelling altogether. I'm picking up my magnum grey Mondeo ST TDCi on Friday... :D Not as crazy as an ASBO I know, but I've decided it's the more sensible choice and I'm quite looking forward to it! 8)
  2. Well I did test drive a Focus ST and my previous car was a remapped Leon Cupra R, I also have a Lotus Elise so I don't think the Focus ST is exactly a once in a lifetime opportunity, but we'll see. The fact is that even without the long delivery period I was becoming very uncomfortable with myself about whether I had bought the right car for my circumstances. I ultimately want to spend more time and money on my Elise which is my true pride and joy - the Focus ST would always have been a second favourite even when brand new so I realised I may have acted too hastily in ordering one. I feel
  3. Cheers tesscott6312, yep I'll stick around and post some pics. Can't seem to find a Mondeo owners club that looks any good :( When I left the Ford dealer on Wednesday I drove past a performance blue Focus ST parked on the forecourt (their demonstrator) and I still think it's a good looking motor. It's just not good enough for me to warrant waiting this long for though... I tell you what's even better! I got a loan for some of the cost of the Mondeo from the AA at 5.8% APR and they don't want me to start paying anything back until June! It's great!
  4. Yep, I mentioned it in another thread, but due to the broker still being unable to provide me with even an estimated delivery date after 4 months (I ordered it in November) I have decided to use this as an omen that the Focus ST wasn't meant to be and I have instead been to my local Ford dealer and ordered a nine month old Mondeo ST TDCi in magnum grey with 6000 miles on the clock and parking sensors through Ford Direct. Pretty pleased with the deal I got (£15k) and that it was the colour I wanted. Looking forward to some still sporty but more luxurious driving now :) More importantly it w
  5. I do agree totally, but to be honest I could do without the hassle of a legal battle and the fact that I've been without a main car for a couple of months has meant that I've saved a few thousand quid over and above what I would normally have saved so I've decided to treat this as a learning exercise and cut my losses. The big question now is what the hell do I get instead???
  6. I've given up on my ST. I've also gone off the idea of having one after all this hassle. I'll probably just buy a used car if some sort now.
  7. Right guys I have been talking to buymynewcar this morning and I have come to an agreement with them to cancel my order and they will refund £250 of my deposit. I decided that was the best I was going to get without a major fight and for the sake of £250 which I effectively spent 4 months ago I decided to cut my losses and run. I think you guys should be able to achieve the same result so long as you are amicable with them. You may do well not to mention to buymynewcar that I have told you this though, just ask them what they can do for you if you want to cancel. They suggested to me t
  8. I enquired and they said no - quoting all the crap about "what it says in the contract". I then said I was prepared to wait a bit longer, but that I would pursue legal action if they could not provide me with a delivery date by the end of April and hit them with the law on unfair contract terms. 182 blue, I would suggest that if push comes to shove, we combine our complaining efforts and fight a joint case rather than fight our own corners, along with anyone else off these boards who wants to join us.
  9. Diesels are great these days, but despite the good power and torque, their limited rev range means that you lose some of the driving experience and feel when you drive a TDi compared to a turbo petrol. You are also flying up and down the gearbox all the time since the peak power band is so small. For this they don't make for very good track cars, but they do make for very good cruising cars. Also, no matter what anyone says, diesels still sound dreadful and there are those of us who want our cars to sound like cars rather than tractors. I've come from a SEAT background and everyone knows
  10. I'm pretty tired of waiting now, but not for the car, just for some INFORMATION on when I'm going to get the car! Okay, so I ordered through a broker, but that shouldn't make any difference. I ordered in November and I've heard nothing. My other cars of choice are Lotuses and Lotus don't take five or six months to deliver even brand new Exiges, so how the hell can Ford fail to deliver a sodding Focus in any sensible time span for heavens sake!!! They're total inept morons and I feel like a moron for letting them get away with it! :|
  11. My bosses Alfa Romeo 156 broke down on a roundabout the other day, she called me at the office and asked if I would mind coming to help her as she didn't know what to do. When I got there it had loosed all its power steering fluid out of the bottom of the engine bay and across the road. I started it up and began to move it to a safer place and JEEZ, the wheel was almost impossible to turn and I'm not a weak bloke. It's nothing like a non-power assisted car at all, it's MUCH heavier...
  12. Buymynewcar's position on this is that they acknowledge that some brokers have had their ST orders refused by Ford and so obviously they have no option to refund customer deposits. However buymynewcar say that their "source" has told them that they will eventually get the cars that have been ordered. But when is "eventually", they can't give a straight answer on this :?
  13. I have had another e-mail from buymynewcar this morning basically confirming my question of whether it was true that Ford are refusing to honour broker and trade orders for the Focus ST. buymynewcar said that yes, it is true that Ford are still not yet processing trade orders and that yes, some brokers are actually having their orders cancelled (dependant upon their relationship with Ford apparently). buymynewcar insist that they are not in the cancellation phase (yet) and hope that they won't be, but that customers just need to hold on. I'm not sure what to do really since I can only "hol
  14. Regardless any self respecting male who can't reverse park without electronic assistance needs to go and stand in the corner and hang his head in shame  ...flame suit on!
  15. I've just noticed that the Focus ST is no longer available on buymynewcar's website. That's a clear indication that they are not confident that they can secure any further orders from Ford. Hmm...
  16. Well it is my thread, I don't think it's unreasonable for me to have the last say considering this thread was aimed at other broker customers and not at those dealer customers who want to brag about having their car already.... I personally have all the time in the world to wait for my car. I spend every day driving around in my Lotus at the moment (whoohoo!).
  17. I'm not whinging dammit! All I did was post an update for those of us awaiting a car ordered from a broker and a whole bunch of people who ordered from a dealer decided to take the * * * *! Don't you get it? You order from a dealer then you pay more but get delivey sooner, order from a broker you pay less but get delivery later! Personally I think that folks who will pay £19k + for a Ford just to get it right now are loonies, but that's my opinion. If it were a Lambo then yes, I'd want it now, but it isn't and I can wait... ....and breathe
  18. Or more to the point we hope Ford don't move us to the back of the queue... :x
  19. I agree and I'm happy to wait. I wouldn't want the car now anyway as I want it on an 06 plate. I have another car to use in the interim and the longer I have to wait for delivery the more cash I can save up and the smaller the loan I have to take out. Fine by me! :D
  20. So it's all down to Ford being a bunch of tight ar$es :( Well, I'm not cancelling my order if I can help it. Thats an idiotic response mate, Ford are not being arses they have a product that is in demand why should they allow it to sell at discount and devalue the car and the brand, would you if you worked for Ford. It also forces people to go to non ford dealers (i.e brokers) and annoys retail customers who are loyal Ford buyers. Its a brilliant and correct decision and I dont expect any of those brokers to get cars for a long time, your broker is simply trying to keep you holding o

  22. guys see my post here regarding an e-mail I had from buymynewcar today. It is bad news I'm afraid...
