  1. have had a similar problem for a long time (hesitancy, especially when 'cold'/ light throttle) with our 1.6 tdci. Took it to dealers, told me no error code, to bring it back when the engine warning light comes on otherwise they can't diagnose!
  2. thanks - I took it to dealers under warranty, they could find no fault codes and apparently couldn't reproduce the hesitation on a test drive so I have to go back and show them the (obvious) problem. I'll give the Italian tune up a crack in the meantime, I like the sound of that!
  3. I have a 1.6 tdci cmax, '04 plate, manual. When driving with gentle acceleration (up shallow hills) in 2nd/ 3rd gear I often get flat spot(s) between 1700-2200 rpm. If keeping speed constant sometimes revs just drop by ~100rpm, then recover a second or 2 later. I checked the forum and it seems others have had this (posts about a year ago often with CVT), but I just wondered if this is now considered a common problem (ie a 'design' fault) or if it is something I should get the dealer to check.
  4. I had similar problem (noticed in the rear view mirror) - I also had poor fuel economy though (~35mpg combined). Took it to dealers who updated software and seems much better now
  5. I have the same problem on a 1.6tdci - I would also like to know if this is common (related to turbo 'kicking in') and something to live with or if it is a symptom of some other fault (I have other problems like fuel economy, poor pull away when cold and a recurring 'turbo overboost' problem when on motorway, car goes into limp mode in fast lane - quite scary)
  6. With our 1.6tdci I find that there's a resonating sound from the engine at around 1200rpm - driving around town and being lazy with the gear changes this is quite noticeable. Also a bit sluggish pulling away in 1st..
  7. I recently bought an '04 1.6 Tdci and on the way home from the dealer the engine warning light came on 'Engine systems failure'. It happened when I was travelling on the motorway, accelerating from ~65 up hill to overtake. I had the AA check it and they said error code P0234 'turbo overboost condition'. The car is booked in at the local Ford dealer to investigate (still drives ok but don't know if performance is changed as I only had it for ~30mins before this happened!) - just wanted to check if this is likely to be a one-off problem or has anyone else experienced the same?
