Well the sun has finally come out and after having my new car for three weeks and four days I felt the need to put the air conditioning on. And it doesn't work! Can't hear the condenser engage or anything although the light comes on, on the switch. It went in last thursday for a "courtesy check" after doing 1,500 miles which took about thirty seconds (waste of time) so it's back this thursday and they're having a look at a rattle coming from the nearside rear when going over rough roads. I thought it was the exhaust heat shield which was loose but when the dealer did their thirty second check

My old aquarius mk2 had darker bumpers but after some silly old b@*^"rd reversed into my car and i had the rear bumper replaced the colour match was much better. The bumper came pre coloured straight from Ford. My new colorado red mk2 doesn't have the mismatch problem, which is good.

My old Focus was a 05 plate mk2. It had the problem from new.

Yes. I had problems with my old Focus, but my new one is much better. The garage said they couldn't do anything with it so i lived with it. If it wont go in try slipping it into third and then straight to reverse. It worked for mine.

Well my car doesn't have auto wipers. And in the manual on page 71 the section is headed in bold type Cars without auto wipers. I've been testing it today and it does exactly what it says on the tin! or the manual :)

Well my 05 reg zetec climate never did it, but my 08 reg does. So I don't know when it was intruduced, it's mentioned on page 71 of my manual.

Well I thought my wipers were acting up until I read the manual and found that the wipers slow down when you stop or slow the car to walking speed. Clever! :)

I've only had my 08 zetec climate a week and a half so I'll have to wait and see. I've been using the washers a lot lately with this crap weather so I should find out soon.

Hello everyone, Last week I picked up my 08 mk2 zetec climate 3dr in colorado red which I am over the moon with. It is amazingly shiney compared to my previous aquarius car, but when I picked it up the paint work felt slightly gritty. I just thought the dealers hadn't bothered to wax the car and had just washed it. So yesterday the weather was good enough to play out so I waxed it. It looks even glossier now but the paint work still feels gritty. Has anyone else noticed this with their car? I wondered if it was because the colorado red is a flat colour and doesn't have a laquer top coat. I sti

I use Tesco general purpose cleaning wipes for other parts of the car interior which are good value and leave a nice finish. One of the down sides of being a driving instructor is loads of people drive your car and some of those leave strange deposits on the steering wheel and gear stick, so i like to have plenty of cleaning wipes in the car. The stitching on the steering wheel gets particularly dirty. uurgh!

Just a damp lint free cloth for me too. Comes up a treat.

If I was you I wouldn't bother with the sony unit. They look great but I had nothing but trouble with mine and nobody would touch it as far as repairs were concerned. Skipping tracks, display goes off for no reason, wont eject discs, and some other weird stuff. I'd go down the multichanger route. there is a Sony one available for about £150 and it'll go neatly into the glovebox. I'm currently looking into whether it is compatible with the redisigned CD6000.

I never used the dimmer on my 05 zetec climate and i'm not bothered it isn't on my 08. Thanks for the link to the sunglasses holder fitting post. I'll have to pluck up the courage to start dismantling my brand new car. :?

Hi all, yesterday I picked up my 08 plate mk2 zetec climate 3dr in colorado red and I'm really pleased with it. I have noticed some things missing compared to my old 05 plate car. No instrument panel dimmer, no footwell light bulb holders and no grab handle on the drivers side ceiling. I've bought a sunglasses holder from Ebay which I planned to fit to my new car so I was disappointed to see the handle missing and no little blanking covers hiding the securing holes. So do you reckon that under the head lining the fiting point will be under there? I had a feel of the area and it feels very firm

Whoopeee! I'm getting my new car on the 6th of March. Standard CD6000 with the socket in the glove box. i'm interested to see how it works. I've also read on here that you can get a Sony CD changer that is compatible with an adaptor of some description. I may consider that as an option. From experience i've found seperate CD changers far more reliable than the Sony 6 disc i've got in me car now. The New style CD6000 looks far nicer in the dash at than the old one aswell. 10 days and counting :D

Hiya Pete, the car will have the CD6000 with the socket in the glove box. One of the reasons why I started this thread was to see if any extra features had been added to the latest CD6000. My Sony 6 CD head unit has been very unreliable but does sound better than the original head unit. The Sony unit allows you to change the sound settings to Rock Pop Voice and some others which I can't remember. The CD6000 doesn't. Hiya Yorkshirepudding, I've never been known for my patience! Been on the phone this morning and my prospective car is in sunderland and it doesn't have the ICE pack on it. I'm not really bothered, it's the car and it's low price i'm bothered about. I'm frustrated though because the finance company I'm using at the mo wouldn't give me a settlement figure over the phone so i'm having to wait till it comes through the post before i can get things moving. :(

Don't know if mines gonna have the ICE pack yet. Because the remaining Mk 2's are sat in a depot somewhere it depends on the colour i've picked and it's location. I have been told if it does it wont cost me any more money so i'll have to keep my fingers crossed eh! I'm back in the dealer on thursday so i'm gonna have a closer look at the stereo. Thanks again.

Hi all, after being invited to my local Ford dealer to have a look at the new Focus I've ended up kind of ordering one of the last 08 plate Mk 2's. The deal was too good to pass up, plus I really don't like the facelifted version. Anyway I'm interested in the stereo fitted to the late models. Apart from the obvious changes to the shape and colour do they have any features over the old CD6000? I have the Sony 6 disc stereo in my current car and although it looks good and sounds better than the standard CD6000 it's been very unreliable. Any pictures of the late stereos would be appreciated, and

My 05 zetec climate's got the warning. 3 litre washer bottle and the warning shows when there's 1 litre left.

It's a three door.

The locks seem fine. I tried locking the car with the key and holding the key to double lock but that doesn't work either. I'm gonna have a look at the fuses but I reckon if it was a fuse the whole system and other stuff would be affected. Thankyou anyway.

Hi all, I have just found out that the double locking on my car is not working. I just noticed today that it wasn't making the clicking sound on the second press of the button on the key, it just sounds like the normal locking sound. I've investigated further and the lights still flash twice like they should do when the double locking is activated and thankfully the alarm is still working but i can still open the doors from inside when the car is locked. Any ideas anyone? my car is out of warranty so I reckon any investigation from ford may be expensive, although the Ford garage I use only

Because I have to re adjust my seat after each of my pupils get out at the end of their lessons I never seem to get the seat in the same position twice. I'm 6' 3" so it goes all the way back, but sometimes all the way to the bottom feels right and sometimes a little higher feels right. As long as my head or hair isn't brushing on the ceiling. Sometimes when I get a young lad in the car for his first lesson they wanna tilt the seat right back, I just tell em they're learning to drive not visiting the dentist and that does the trick. :)
