  1. There are two different scientific theories about my air con: 1. When I switch on the air con, somebody spreads glue on the street surface. or, 2. Ford decided to use the air con switch as a secret transformation button - when I switch it on my car behaves as a FIAT 500! -1.6 vivtc 115 bhp (the horses are very tired and mentally deranged)
  2. Cable adjustment is OK. Slow changes are OK. The problem rises when you must change from 2nd to 3rd swiftly. Had many cars, never found this problem before. Today I added a small elastic pulling slightly the stick towards the 5th-Rev. All gear changes are now ALWAYS smooth and perfect. Back to the old days!!!!
  3. I have problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd on my new foci 1.6 vct. The spring that is supposed to align the shift on neutral isn't strong enough, so, when a quick change from 2nd to 3rd is needed the stick ends up between 1st and 3rd. Does anybody have the same problem?
  4. Focus - 04 showed instant mpg. In new Focus it's disabled (all models and versions). In order to have an idea of your real time mpg you must reset frequently your average mpg (loosing however the big picture of your consumes over the last 500 miles). Also, in test mode, you can watch the flow rate of fuel. Like the old vacuometre, the real-time mpg is very useful in a new car, for getting an idea of the engine's "thirst" in various conditions of speed, slope and load, and permits you to calibrate the optimum gas-pedal pressure and speed in different coditions.
  5. Makes sense. Still my manual is printed in July 2005. However, in a manual dated August 2004 instant fuel is not mentioned.
  6. But the owner's manual specifically mentions the damn thing
  7. I bought a Focus SW 1600 115 hp yesterday. The trip computer has only average fuel consumption and instant fuel consumption is missing. Is there something wrong?
