  1. Got a friend at work who is looking for an updated Nav Disc for C-Max with 7in screen type Nav. Apart from going to a Ford dealer are these discs available anywhere for a reasonable cost? Also are discs from any other cars compatible with the Ford system, Jag perhaps? Thanks in advance.
  2. Must have been a weight off your shoulders at long long last. Are the ST220 wheels available as an option or are Ford doing it as a special for you after the saga with your paintwork?
  3. I seem to have collected several punctures lately :( - both slow ones luckily, I drove on one to get it fixed and had to use the space saver for the other. The problem with using foam is that depending on the chemicals in it you can't get a puncture fixed properly as the residue can't be cleaned away to let the adhesive take to the inside of the tyre. To quote my mate who runs a tyre deopt 'it's about the worst thing you can do' if you want the puncture fixing properly. If you hit a kerb or something solid that damages the wheel or tyre a can of foam isn't much use.
  4. Wouldn't that be the same if you had the foam kit instead? Or do Ford spec different bodies for Space Saver and Foam derivatives? This adds complexity to systems that manage orders and bodies within the plant - understandable for LHD/RHD, 3dr/5dr etc but not something minor like spare wheel surely? I was wrong thinking the ST would be the same body as a std Focus (different spare wheel well due to exhaust) so I stand corrected if I am again.
  5. I'd go for the space saver option too. Has anyone seen the tyre foam kit that replaces the spare wheel - is it just a can of foam or do you get a 12V compressor too? swaia - did you get a full size ST wheel for that money or was it a different wheel with the same offset etc?
  6. How does the boot on the ST differ from a normal Focus? The normal Focus gets a spare of some sort in there so what's the difference, does the ST have a shallower wheel well? Otherwise I'd have thought that an ST with space saver has the same sized boot as a normal Focus with spare wheel in there. Bit of a screw-up by Ford if the space saver doesn't even fit - is it hidden somewhere in the handbook that it only fits the rear maybe?
  7. Why is it that in cars like the new Mondeo and Mk2 Focus the heater/aircon controls don't let you direct air to the windscreen and the dash vents at the same time? I can in my ST170 and like it that way.
  8. I'd prefer a spare wheel to a repair kit any day - the kits can't get you home if you damage a wheel or tyre badly, and if you get a puncture they make it a really messy job to repair what may have been simple otherwise. By all means take the spare out of the boot but if it was me I wouldn't be giving it back to the dealer.
  9. What's the score with the ST220 wheels going straight onto the ST too?
  10. The choices of interior colours seem to be a bit confused - on the Ford ST micro site you can have several interior colours with each exterior - i.e Anthracite with Performance Blue, but when you go to Build your Own you can only have blue cloth with the blue paint. All down to marketing in the end.
  11. I prefer the look of the 5 door for the new Foci I've seen so far, will have to see the ST in the flesh to make my mind up. Got to bear in mind the 5dr will cost more!
  12. Found this tonight whilst casually surfing the web.. http://www.channel4.com/4car/road-tests/driving-impressions-2005/F/ford/focus-st-2005.html A positive write-up I'd say 8)
  13. Info I've seen has the Orange paint twice the price of other metallic colours. And a drivers heated seat is extra????????? I read someone complaining that the passenger gets a heated seat and the drivers is extra. Thats a bit cr@p me thinks.
