  1. Yes I believe so but the ST's don't have powerfold mirrors as standard either and I'm pretty sure it was an ST he was working on when he took a break from trying to get them to work..
  2. There are a few of us waiting to do this mod. Dave has it about 90% done, see here http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... sc&start=0 , and here http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... 10&start=0 A work in progress, hopefully he'll get back to it soon.
  3. What a bummer, very frustrating for you Dave. Don't even dream of giving up mate, there are a few of us very interested in this and following your every move! You are our only hope :D
  4. Not thick at all, I heard exactly the same thing and I'm sure Dave is well aware of this as well. Once he gets the mod done we'll know for sure but it may be that it simply doesn't work the "normal" way and Dave is having to find another solution. I'm fairly sure (but could be wrong) that not all Focus's had the connection under the offside door which means that Dave's method may be the only way to do it.
  5. WTF??!! My relay that I got from Tezza has 5 pins, the box it came in says; 1x 1117693 1S7T 17L684 AA Relay-Mirror C24313 A7(WP)
  6. Turnip. Neeps and tatties, lovely :D
  7. dave6202uk is currently working on this very project at the moment. He has posted an excellent thread with piccies detailing what needs to be done although we are awaiting the final installment which will cover items such as the relay. It'll be here soon. Unfortunately its not just a matter of plugging the relay in (from memory it goes in under the carpet behind the drivers seat in the rear passenger footwell - anyone confirm or correct?), there are other bits that need doing as well and Dave is documenting these for his "How-to" thread.
  8. Yes, gold or silver contacts doesn't matter in any way shape or form for this type of thing. Its only plating anyway so its a non-issue for most other uses too (gold looks nicer and more expensive but thats about it!). I too found a couple places in the US and Rumania (certainly not sending my credit card details there!). A group buy would certainly be in order I suppose to save on shipping costs but can't really see why a VW or Skoda parts dealer in the UK won't have them - its their part number after all. Edit - just tried a dummy buy of the above item - only £1.90 postage so no need
  9. I've no idea, the end connector is certainly shaped to fit into one of the many slots in the cable terminator on the mirror assembly but thats not necessarily where it should go. I'm assuming Dave knows....! Boris
  10. For those who may be wondering, this is what the VW Terminal 000979133A looks like (note this is actually the 133 version, 133A has gold contacts) I have not found a UK source for these as yet though.
  11. Try this Mike, http://www.turborevs.org.uk/H7%20HID%20 ... %20kit.htm
  12. Thats just it, it did go through the insurance - they are great, its Ford that are being extremely unhelpful. I'm now in the process of getting the vehicle towed from the non-Ford garage to a Ford one (all at my own expense, I'll even have to pay the cost of removing the tank from the car myself as the non-Ford garage have already done that - the insurance are unable to cover it as I'm the one thats having to get the car moved in order to get a new estimate and get the Insurance to authorise the work, again I have no gripe with the Insurance people). Ford were pretty clear that things wou
  13. Had the fuel tank on my 55reg Ford Focus Mk2 punctured having driven over a pair of pliers on Friday14th Sept. This was at a major road junction in a city during rush hour some 10-15 miles from home. Fire Brigade attended due to fuel spill on road (tank drained) . Called AA who towed the vehicle to the nearest repair garage due to the car being undrivable (large hole in tank). Garage contacted Ford on Monday 17th to order replacement tank. Advised by garage on 18th (who had themselves been advised by Ford) that part would take 5 working days as it would have to come from Germany. I pho
