  1. My windscreen washer reservoir was split when the car was new and would leak just over a litre of washer fluid within the first couple of hours after filling. Maybe worth getting yours checked out.
  2. Matt It could be a blocked Air Conditioning Drain. Very unlikely as according to Ford this has never happened before. My ‘Wet Driver Footwell’ post may help: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=202054 Fixing it may be as easy as bending the NVH material away from the drain. However, removing the carpet and drying it out may be a little more difficult.
  3. The final cost of the air conditioning drain being blocked by underside NVH material was £172.23. And that was after the deduction that the dealer described as a good will gesture. Ford remain adamant that this fault is not covered by the warranty because it is classed as a bodywork fault and therefore only covered for one year from the date of first registration. The drain is located to the rear of the plastic sump guard, on the right hand side, above the exhaust and is covered by the NVH material. I had a good look under the car and could find no evidence whatsoever of anything hit
  4. I received a phone call from the Service Department this morning to tell me that this is going to cost me £172. I’m due to collect my car this afternoon so will be speaking to Ford CRC again before handing over any money.
  5. Contrary to the information that I was given at lunchtime today, the cause of the wet driver footwell is due to the air con drain being blocked by NVH material. The NVH material has been correctly repositioned to rectify the problem. Both the carpet and soundproofing material were very wet, have been removed, and are currently being dried. However, there is a possibility that both the carpet and the soundproofing may require replacement. The dealer has stated that the carpet is not covered under Ford warranty because the car is “Out of the 1st Year Warranty Periodâ€
  6. Agreed. Even Ford couldn’t categorise water ingress on a 19-month old car as being due to fair wear and tear. So unless the water is coming in as a result of an accident or negligence (which it’s not) it must be due to a manufacturing fault and should therefore be covered by the warranty. ScottyGhia, check under the chassis number access flap in the carpet, as that appears to be a low point where the water collected in my car.
  7. Took the car to the dealer this morning and was told “Water ingress is not covered by the warrantyâ€
  8. The earliest I could get the car booked in with the dealer is next Tuesday. Until then fingers crossed that it doesn’t rain!
  9. Thanks for the replies. I’m assuming that it’s water because it’s an odourless and colourless liquid. I don’t have a sunroof but will have a look at the door seals tomorrow. The car is still under warranty so it looks like I may have to book it in with the dealer. Cheers
  10. This is a problem with my 18-month-old MK2 (not the known MK1 scuttle panel problem). While vacuuming the interior earlier today, I noticed that the carpet in the driver’s footwell was damp. When I lifted the carpet flap, (chassis number access flap) the soundproofing/underlay was soaking wet. I checked under the dash and all of the sound proofing material is damp. I can’t find where the water is coming from. Has anyone else experienced this problem or does anyone have any ideas where the water could be coming from? Cheers
  11. Mike To change units from metric to imperial try the language menu in system settings. The best place to download the latest handbook is: http://fordfcsd.wunderman.be/UK/Audio%2 ... em_CG3537/. Hope this helps.
  12. Mine had a rattle from the driver’s B-Pillar since it was new. Several attempts by the dealer to fix it over the past 17 months have all failed. At one point they took all the trim and seatbelt mount off and it still rattled when they test-drove it. So far, part of the seatbelt height adjuster and the B-Pillar trim has been changed. They have also fitted sound absorbent material (NVH Padding) to the B-Pillar cavity. Now the noise is more of an irritating intermittent buzz than a rattle. It drives me mad and I don’t expect that they will ever find the cause and fix it.
  13. Have you considered a security system accessory? I don’t know if it will work without the alarm system and it’s rather expensive but something like the Clifford SmartWindows Remote Power Window Control Accessory could work: “More Power to Power Windows. Open, close and vent the car's power windows using the G5 security system remote control. SmartWindows also adds extra features inside the vehicle: one tap fully open, one tap fully closed. Tap the switch during roll-up and roll-down to instantly stop the window. Vent opening is selectable via the CliffNet Wizard, and can be vented
  14. No photo but you can see it if you go to the Ford website: http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/focmca/focmca_ ... l/-/-/-/-# And if you need more info you can download the Owner’s Handbook from: http://fordfcsd.wunderman.be/UK/Audio%2 ... 006-uk.pdf Hope this helps.
  15. I can’t explain that as the only reference I’ve got is the ‘not available on Titanium or Focus ST 3 Door’ in the Focus 2007 brochure that I picked up before I ordered my car.
