  2. ive just been cleaning my car and had a trial removal and i can now say that it is not connected to the window runners :? the top piece of rubber that touches the cars body just simply pulls of and pushes back on so realislty if ford will replace them it should take 10 mins max to do the job :D and that is the rear doors and the front . go and have a look mate its real easy to do  thats if it is the top piece making the noise as surgested in the pm

Stage 1 - Lubrication - This is only a temporary fix and they will end up creaking more regularly. Stage 2 - Cleaning - Using neat washing up liquid. This works initially, however repeat applications become more necessary as the seals loose essential oils. Stage 3 - Replacement - The dealer will finally replace the top flocked seal, which is a complex job as this flocked seal is connected to the flocked window runners, which

  5. just had a pm from smjohns i think was his name but hes not a paid meber so thought id share this with you guys Hi Mikeyg1981, I noticed your post about creaky door seals and am not a member so could not post. Anyway this is a known issue and you definitely should raise it with your dealer. If you are out of warranty then make sure you do not apply any oils or lubricants. If you have done this then get some neat washing up liquid and clean all the seals and surrounding bodywork. The creaking bit is mainly caused by the flocked seal at the tops of the door so cleaning this is the most

  11. yeah its as you geussed its the rear door seals as the body slightly flexes , incidentaly mine only does it when it has been a hot day ................. so thats not a lot then  but mines is a 06 5 door lx with 14000 my maw has a 56 5 door sport with 2000  which also does this so think it might effect all 5 door models . i will be giving the seals a slight touch over with vasaline or some thing similar but to be honest it doesnt bother me as you say its only when i go up or down my drive i hear it . my drive goes donw then slightly up and when i come of it im at an angle which ma

  13. was going to cost me £75 a year to change up to a 1.6 zetec over the three years ill have the car £225 . plus ive got the ms design kit and getting 18"s fitted so that will take me up to around the same as insuring the std zetec 1.6 but would have to have paid extra on the zetecs insurance with the kit and wheels if you know what i mean  end of the day its the best i could afford all running costs ect and wanting big wheels and kit ect and the end of the day im loving it altho it is just a lx
  14. yeah it does and mines is a baby 1.4 remeber lol the lx part plays little on the insurance front but engine size and spec make it jump from my group 4 up to 6 for 1.6s to 10 for 1.8s-2ltrs . i want the looks but dont have any need for the power ive been there and done that i had a 2ltr turbo jap car that got me in all kinds of debt and wanted something dirt cheap to drive whilst still a good looking car ect
  15. Where's the fun in that? Okay it makes sense to buy the right model in the first place, but sometimes you end up with a car for factors outside of your control at the time. Besides it's addictive to find out what you can do to it... :D Having said that in most cases it's probably cheaper to get the car / options when new / changing car. i needed a car that week for work ect and wanted a mk2 foci as my maw has the 1.8 sport and i realy liked the look . i realisticly did want a 1.4 sport but they were more expensive at the time  money or rather debt was a factor but ive got my mk2 fo
