  1. Converter eh...hmm I like the sound of this...Jamz my man...if I change my headunit, can you recommend a converter amp and sub? I don't mean specific ones, but is there a specific type that will work well with my car if you know what I mean? And how much we looking at? Thanks in advance, Richy
  2. Cheers mate, you managed to sell your car yet? I'm getting mine back today :) Richy
  3. Right I know this could go in the Ice section but I'm putting it here as it's on a MK2 Foci.... If I change my headunit to a double DIN Pioneer system (4x50W output) will it be a straight swap (with new fascia etc etc) for my current 6000 CD unit? And would it provide any better sound quality without upgrading speakers or does the current unit provide the best sound those speakers can give? Cheers, Richy
  4. I see what you mean but even at the end section of the exhaust, 90 degree bends reduce exhaust flow. I had a mild steel end section stuck onto mine for a while before I got a full CAT Back piper system (the piper system is Mandrel bent (curved as oppose to 90 degree turns in the piping) which allows exhaust gasses to be evacuated normally. Before I got the proper system put on the car was definitely less responsive... Richy
  5. ok doesn't really matter now the car's back at repair place in Hexham so the job was done today 8) Getting all cleaned up on Monday then I can pick it up in the afternoon/evening...will be 6 weeks exactly of repair time. RIchy
  6. My car's been in repair place for 5 weeks and 3 days now. It's all done apart from one thing. The garage couldn't get the airbag light to go off so they took it to Ford (luckily under a mile from the place) who said it needs a new airbag module. This is hopefully being fitted tomorrow...but can anyone with some knowledge tell me if this is a big thing to do ie will it take some time? Richy
  7. Just had a call this morning from the manager at the repair place. He said they have had to order some intercooler pipes as the ones Ford originally sent were wrong. The lock for the bonnet will also be arriving with these pipes and once those are fitted, they just need to put the new side skirts on (they had to smash the old ones off so that the car could be jigged) they're sprayed and are just waiting to go on. So with that said early to mid next week the car should be back. Oh yeah another thing...he asked if the car had been repaired before...I said yes as the front bumper and driver side
  8. no no, i don't have it back yet! It still needs 2 go 2 Ford before I get it is what he is saying......heck as soon as I have it back it's gettins waxed 2 hell! Richy
  9. As some people may know I had a smash in my car on the 10th October...went into the back of a wagon and the car bonnet, lights, radiator and engine itself were smashed - the windscreen was cracked too. Basically the car's been getting repaired under the insurance; it's had a new engine and pretty much everything else on the front end is new now. It went on the Jig 2 weeks ago today also. I rang the repair place on the monday just gone (10th Nov) to ask about the car. The manager said it should be ready this week, and that all that needs doing is Ford have to do something with the airbag and
  10. sorry 2 hear it mate but thats ANOTHER accident on the ffoc this time of year...me, donnovan, someone else who's name escapes me and now you! I went in2 the back of a wagon on a roundabout last month and still haven't got car back :-( Richy
  11. has to be people older than me trying to work out how the hell I have an "ST" - for example where I work part time (a supermarket) I come to work and customers see me getting out the car with my work clothes on and many go to their friends/relatives "How the hell can he afford that", thinking a 2.5 turbo lies under the bonnet when it's a nice 1.8 Oil burner Richy
  12. No prob lads! glad to help let me know if you're stuck with anything Richy
  13. Foxta, inzor, In total the full replica process cost around the 1900 mark i believe. including the remap which was 305. I haven't had it on the rolling road to see what increase there has been, but I tried it against my mate's 2008 golf GTI 150 GT which is a 2.0 TDI and he couldn't get away from me. It is like a completely different car with the remap 3rd gear is unbelievable anyone who gets in the car can't believe how well it pulls for a 1.8 diesel. I bought bumpers direct from ford after Jamz kindly gave me the part numbers for them. Also needed to get brackets & light surrounds from
