  1. Hello again! Right had to call the RAC out yesterday as I could not start the car at all. The RAC bloke managed to get it going and said the EGR had stuck. He suggested I take it to the dealer and leave it their until they fix it! Great, but what do I do in the meantime? Again it wouldn't start this morning and this time I've really had enough! Called the dealer. No courtesy cars available at all. They're all booked out! They suggest calling the RAC. Called the RAC and they've agreed a hire car for........24 HOURS! Well thats bloody handy!!! The dealer wont extend the hire car coz they say FOR
  2. Update. Have now had a second opinion from another dealer and here's what they found: * EGR valve IS faulty and needs replacing. * A relay is also faulty and needs replacing. * Part of the wiring loom also needs replacing! So according to them nothing to do with software at all! 5 days for the new parts, then we'll wait and see!
  3. Yeah. Have now booked it into a different dealer for a second opinion.
  4. It just happened again. I disconnected the plug on the egr and everything was fine!
  5. I have EXCACTLY the same problems. Ford tell me its a software issue and nothing to do with the EGR, I don't believe them! Have to wait for new software to arrive next month. In the meantime I'm buggered!! :(
  6. Just worked out fuel, ins, loan and tax diff. Would cost me an extra £1500 a year to purchase and run or £125 a month(£1k/year £85/month less after 5 years! :) ). Quite a lot of money for a car my missus would use most taking to work. :(
  7. Will take some at the weekend when I take the missus for a look! p.s It is on priv
  8. I have a dilema. First off I've had nothing but problems with my mk2 2.0 tdci titanium since I got it. Secondly, FORD service dept leaves alot to be desired. 3rd, I swore never to buy another FORD again as a result of the above 2, however................................... ...............Whilst in the dealer, bumped into the salesman who sold me the above car. He asked me how the car was going, I said * * * *. I then said I'm thinking of buying another car already and that I liked the look of the White ST3 that they had, but wasn't keen as a result of my current experiances with FORD. He rem
  9. Have just picked it up. I am told that there is a software upgrade for the ecu required. This I am told, is the cause of all of my engine problems, including poor MPG(nothing to do with egr apparantly). It is also going to become an official recall too. The software required is B42. None of my local dealers have this yet. Probably looking at next month now. In the meantime if my car breaksdown to the point where it will not go again (as I suspect it will), I'm screwed without a car until this miracule software update is readily available! - Great.
  10. I * * * * give up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Justb had some stupid bull* * * * story from the dealer that my car requires software upgrade and plugging in to their computer, but their machine is faulty and needs new software itself so yet again they CAN'T DO ANYTHING!!!!! So another complete waste of bloody time and effort! Why did FORD release these crappy bloody engines before they were ready!? I have had it. Once the car is finally fixed it is going and good bloody ridance! I shall NEVER buy a FORD again!!!
  11. Took my focus in for engine probs (see other thread), and they told me it would also be having a recall done! Something to do with voltege within the ecu? Will find out excactly what when I pick it up!
  12. So, I'm guessing it's a faulty egr valve, right? If, so why cant they just replace it with one that doesn't keep sticking!? What does the egr valve do anyway?
  13. Yeah, the handbook lies alot!
  14. sure this can be done anyway. Can't remember how though?
  15. This has just happened again! Not washed this time either! Took 10 attempts to get the car to run properly. It would not go above 1k then all of a sudden, "click" and away it went followed by a great big black cloud of smoke from the exhaust! My mpg is crap too! Will see what happens.
  16. Mine is going in on weds. Will keep you posted.
  17. £125! For a bloody oil change!!!! Don't bloody think so. Will do it myself and save up for the next service!
  18. Any idea what the first service on a 2.0 tdci will cost? :)
  19. Main fuse on power lead from battery. Same happened to me.
  20. Hi, my 2.0 tdci has twice now developed a problem with not being able to rev higher than 1k after being washed. Eventually the problem clears but it can take sveral minutes. I'm guessing something gets wet that shouldn't, but what?
