  1. Ford dont specifically do Eibachs for the diesel, and diesel springs are stiffer than petrol.. still waiting to hear back from Eibach because it may not make a noticable difference by fitting petrol springs on a diesel.. diesel car is 90kg heavier than the ST even though the ST is a 5 pot engine. Dampers you can get from ford with the Part number I wrote above. Titaniums dont have sport pack as standard, as far as I know Sport pack was a facelift thing, and you would of had 18" alloys.. because they are part of the sport pack. because with the facelift they introduced the sport pack, and
  2. I dont know.. only going by what Teamtorquesteer told me lol. there is definitely a difference though in the strength of the springs between the petrol and diesel though. Still waiting to hear back from Eibach. Are you sure your car has sport pack? Sport Pack never came with 16" alloys as far as I know.. its always been 18" alloys as part of the sport pack?
  3. emailed team torquesteer and had a response this evening.. just got to wait for a reply from Eibach now. But basically they confirmed that a focus ST has the same ride height as a normal focus with Sports Suspension...if you have sports suspension, on a Zetec S, or Titanium with Sport Pack.. by shoving on the Eibach Pro Kit you will see no difference in ride height.. as it lowers it down to the same level. Also, the Diesel models have stiffer springs than petrol.. so the Eibachs will probably be a great improvement on a petrol focus, but not so much on the diesel.. because I was also advis
  4. should be a level 1 level 2 is the facelift 1 with small red display level 3 is facelift with large red display AFAIK should work fine, because Pichacker retrofitted it to somebody elses car.. but he had to alter the configuration file manually before uploading it to sort out the immobilizer. Washer level sensor can be enabled/disabled in IDS. ive currently got an engine bay loom on order lol, because PicHacker was going to enable this on my car once ive got all the bits and pieces together and all fitted.. because at the moment I dont have it, or any of the wiring.
  5. heres the suspension settings for various models, Front Wheel Alignment (at curb weight) - 3 door, 4 door and 5 door - Vehicles with standard suspension Description Tolerance Range Setting or Nominal Maximum Variance Left or Right Caster angle Degrees and minutes 4°13' to 2°09' 3°11' 1°00' Decimal degrees 4.21° to 2.15° 3.18° 1.00° Camber angle Degrees and minutes 0°36' to -1°58' -0°41' 1°15' Decimal degrees 0.60° to -1.96° -0.68° 1.25° Total toe mm 0.7 Toe-in ± 1.7 0.7 Toe-in ± 1.0 - Degrees and minutes 0°06' Toe-in ± 0°15' 0°06' Toe-in ± 0°09' - Decimal
  6. theres a wishbone/lower arm for the ST, the RS, standard focus, and 1 which says 0 21 ST and 0 21 Standard Focus the 0 21 ones though seem to of been revised.. although not replaced in 03/09/2008 with the ones listed without the 0 21 bit though. I imagine the 0 21 ones must have some kind of different offset or something crossmember/subframe is the same on all focus, apart from the RS... so normal focus would be the same as ST and the Anti roll bar, theres an estate version, RS version, normal focus version and handling suspension version... although it doesnt specifically list ST so
  7. true lol. and yep I have sports suspension already. Eibachs arent the same as the ST suspension, which is fords handling suspension. The suspension might be Eibach, but its not the same as the accessory kit, because when you buy the Eibach ford accessory upgrade springs, it lowers the ST by 20mm on the front, and 25mm further on the back. Because lots of members on the FocusSTOC have been upgrading their suspension to Eibachs... used to be 20mm drop on the back, but Eibach revised it apparently and now its 25mm. not sure though if you can fit the ST suspension on a normal focus though,
  8. just going by these 2 images here, at the back theres a difference... but the front looks the same height
  9. im still trying to find out what one to have on mine lol, because I dont want to go out and get the normal focus 1s when the sport suspension is slightly lower already and find no difference in height:S lol. in my case it might be better to go for the ST springs. Dampers should definitely be an improvement over standard shocks though, ive also been looking into whether or not to bother changing to powerflex bushes on the ARB... because i could probably do the whole lot in 1 go.
  10. it actually shouldnt firm it up much with the Eibachs, because they are a progressive spring, and most people from what ive read on the FocusSTOC(seems to be more Eibach conversions on there) lol have said that ride quality hasnt changed at all in terms of harshness.. but the suspension is alot stiffer when you need it in the corners. Also found out the RS suspension is Eibach.
  11. yep, you can order them from a ford dealer, Finis code is 1550105 only seem to list them as being available on the facelift version though... although id imagine they do fit. The description given is, Kit - Shock Absorber, Eibach, Front and Rear, Saloons. they arent listed on Eibachs website though, or anywhere else that I can see.. but they are in the ford parts catalogue with the above finis code. So it would seem the shocks are only available through ford dealers... also means that by getting them from ford they arent voiding any warranty like in my case lol. But although the springs
  12. nope, normally they come with standard suspension. only the Zetecs that have sport suspension as standard. then on the titanium you can get the Sport Pack which upgrades the suspension to sport suspension.. which as far as I know is the same as fitted to the Zetec. then above that, you have the Handling suspension which was only fitted to the ST. Could be wrong about the Sport Pack suspension already being Eibachs.. just I know the ST suspension is the next 1 up, and the Eibachs lower that setup further by 20mm. Might have to make some enquiries and find out how much the Eibachs lowe
  13. not too sure about the sports suspension being eibachs already. because the ST handling suspension is 1 above the sport pack sports suspension and it still lowers the car 20mm.
  14. would of thought so, strange why ford dont list them though.
  15. lol you would be surprised. when I learnt in a Zetec (facelift) that only had the 16" wheels like yours, and you could notice alot of different with the 18" wheels. Car tends to handle alot better:) was it just the springs you are going to upgrade? or are you doing the shocks as well? if theres a great noticeable difference I might do mine as well, shocks and springs.. although i dont know why ford dont list the Eibach springs for the facelift.. only the Eibach shocks.
  16. suppose it depends on the suspension. Titanium with Sport pack is balanced between performance and comfort with the sport suspension.. but the ST might be a bit more lumpier because its got the Handling suspension which will almost certainly be alot stiffer... and I imagine Eibachs would be the same.
  17. shouldnt do. Ive got the 18" sport pack alloys on mine.. which use exactly the same tyres as the ST, 225/40/R18 Y XL and dont find them a harsh ride at all.. even with the sport suspension. certainly better handling though.. because I learnt to drive in a Focus Zetec.. which should have the same suspension, because the Zetec has always had sport suspension.. but that only had the standard 16"? wheels on it.. and mine definitely handles alot better with the 18" alloys.. and with the factory Sport Conti 3s on it, just has so much grip.
  18. should be yep.. as long as your alloys are big enough to allow for the bigger disks, and caliper. I havent actually done it so I cant be 100% but when I looked at the part numbers, hub was the same, as well as the knuckles for all focus's on the front... with just different calipers and disks. Still is on the facelift as well, apart from the RS which is different with the Revo Knuckle, from what I can see. The vacuum servo unit though is different on the ST to other models, dont know whether an ST one will work on a normal focus.. but the only thing I can think of is that the unit is lar
  19. I have to use ford parts for the moment lol. but as soon as its out of warranty because Ive got 18" alloys, im going to upgrade to the ST brakes. The hubs are the same, just different calipers and disks.
  20. lol, id like to be able to do that, and probably will soon... on 25,700 miles after 18 months now... and its probably running its factory pads and disks still but genuine ford parts are a killer... but because its still under warranty i have to use genuine kit. Certainly agree on the overkill, better to be safe when it comes to brakes.
  21. Hi, does anybody know what the expected life expectancy normally is on the clutch fitted to the 2.0 TDCi engine.
  22. true, traction control is merely a driver aid. although it does and can come in handy on ice.. although not so much with traction assist fitted to 2wd systems. however on a good 4wd system like Audis Quattro.. traction control works miracles.. saw a video once and you could litterally throw the car around on a frozen sheet of ice and it would maintain perfect control.
  23. lol, you could always use 2nd hand parts? you could get those quite cheap probably.. the mk2 focus already has ABS.
  24. do you have an ABS light that comes on? on the dashboard? when you turn the ignition to position II if yes, then you have ABS.. should also have something that looks like this, wont look exactly the same, but similar. upgrading = really expensive lol and probably not worth it. new wiring loom.. looking at £350 upwards.. some looms are in the region of £500 new ABS unit.. £1000 new sensor under the drivers seat.. have no idea how much that is but wouldnt surprise me if it was in the region of £50-100 could always use 2nd hand parts though.
