When i was looking for a 2.0 tdci zetec climate, the dealer looked at what was available from the vehicle holding centre in Belgium. They had loads of models in the sea grey colour i wanted and i ended up buying one with extra options fitted. Because the cars are in Ford Europe stock they dont have to build you a car to your spec and you can play reverse auction with dealers to get the best deal. If they tell you they cant do it dont believe them because they can, so be persistant i did and ended up with over £4000 off the list price. Also the car arrived at the dealership within 2 weeks.

They have given me a Ka which is OK for a couple of days but i want something a little more comfortable as i dont know when the car will be fixed. I dont want to get rid of it as its only 3 weeks old but it was frighteneing when the brakes failed and i dont it to happen again.

The brake pedal on my 3 week old 2.0 TDCI focus lost its resistance and travelled to the floor when it was applied this week which resulted in little slowing of the vehicle but returned to normal upon releasing the pedal and applying again. I took the car to the nearest ford dealer who are holding the car as they say it is unsafe to drive. They have ordered a new brake master cylinder but there is not one available in europe and they dont know when they will get one. The car has ESP and it was on but they dont consider this was a factor. If anyone knows for a master cylinder can you let

I guess all the engines featured are petrol with the mpg around the mid thirties. I changed from a mk1 1.8 petrol focus to a mk2 2.0 tdci (hoping to get more mpg) and the best mpg i can get is 38. This is disappointing as i do a round trip of 40 miles each day to get to work so i should be up around he 50 mpg. Is there an ecu upgrade for the engine (non dpf version) as the car has done 800 miles and is showing no signs improving mpg.

I agree with silver beast. Going into a dealer and negotiating a deal with no p/ex you will get the lowest price to buy the car. Its easier to play off dealers against each other. By doing that you can also include internet suppliers aswell. In my experiance, if a dealer wants your custom they will pull out all the stops even beating internet dealers. Negotiating with a dealer is part of buying a car, it is satisfying to see a salesman with his head in his hands when he knows he's sacrificing some of his commission in order to get the sale. If you do try ebay place a 10 day listing on a thursday evening so potentail buyers have 2 weekends to look at the car if they want to.

The sony speakers upgrade, is this additional speakers to the standard fit ones or are they completely changed. I assume no the extra wiring for this is already fitted

Is the voice activation option available without opting for the sony radio upgrade, or is it separate from the radio altogether

You would be far better to leave the aircon as it is, so whenever you select windscreen only, the aircon operates which will lubricate the seals in the aircon pump preventing them from drying out and leaking all the refridgerant away

A dealer told me that it revs higher in 1st and 2nd to bring the 0-62 time down without having to select 3rd to get 62 mph

If i change from the standard ford unit in a 2006 focus zetec to a sony 6000 or 6006 model, do the steering column change buttons still work and is the unit a straight swap with no adaptor cables as the sony units drive 8 speakers where the ford unit drives 6 Cheers

If the dealer really wants to sell you a car they will quote the priv price just to get the sale.

I currently run a 99 Focus Zetec and am looking to trade up to a 2006 model. When i had a test drive in a 2006 model i found the suspension softer than my current car and it tended to wallow around a lot more. Is this normal for the new model or is the car a lot heavier Cheers
