  1. 16500 miles, new rear discs and pads.
  2. Can anyone please tell me if Radio part No 6S61-18C815-BF will fit directly into 2005 Focus C-Max. Its a Ford 6006 CD for new Focus/Fusion etc.
  3. 1.8 Petrol Ghia - 8 out of 10 MPG fair but not great. Unable to get parts when necessary (Airbag 6 Weeks !!, Brake light switch week and a half, GEM Module a week, Trim 2 weeks). All had to be shipped from Germany. Dealer no worse than expected, but no better either. On the up side real nice to drive, good for kids and shopping, wife likes to drive it
  4. When i picked my C-max (Brand New) from dealers, rear badge was scratched due to bad valet. They said no problem, they would replace it, but could be one of 2 types, and they would not know which until thye took old one off. could be dealer B**sh*t, but they replaced it when it went in for another job for a couple of days. Not sure how you check if this is going to be a problem, as the new one might not fit in place of the old one you knacker it getting it off !
  5. My Airbag light kept comming on, then not. Dealer tried for loose connection but still did it. Diagnosed that drivers seat bag needed replacement. Took 6 weeks to get in delivered from Germany !!
  6. Also, depending on model, interior lights only stay on for 10 mins when you leave doors open. Then they go out. (30 mins for Reading lights).
  7. Just guessing here, as I have had no issues with my EBP, and I have tried all ways fool it. Once EPB is applied, it will only release if it has revieved a signal from either clutch or Brake being depressed. IF you depressed the clutch and kept it down after appling the EPB, it will not release as it has not recieved its signal of the pedal being depressed. (i.e let up then down again, or applying footbrake) For hill starts I can either release the EPB and take up slack on clutch in the 2/3 of a second it takes to release, or on steep hills, lift clutch to bite point then release EPB. As i sa
  8. Dealer has fitted the Switch. It has a picture of Car on it with radiant 'Beams' comming down from the roof. I havent tested it yet, as I am still waiting to see it it cures problem. Do not want to confuse the log file by adding in extra events. Dealer said all wiring was in door, just needed to fit the switch. It hasn't gone off yet (to my knowledge), but its less than a week, so I need to give it more time. No idea of part number, but they had no issues getting it (came in next day delivery).
  9. Back to dealers today and had this Override switch fitted. It goes in place of the window switch blanking plate in the drivers door. We wait to see if it cures the problem. Dealer says that to use it , hold it down for 3 seconds before exiting and locking the car. There is no 'beep' or flashing lights to indicate if its active. No reference is made in my manual to this. Does anybody else have a clue if this is correct ? (or even a manual that refers to it ?
  10. Update - Car Alarm still going off. Went back to dealers today, had 2 trigger events in the log. Service desk guy comes out and says to the technician 'Wheres the switch to disable the ultrasonics ?' Apparently the Ghia should have a switch in the drivers door (where the elec window switch blankning plate is) to disarm the ultra sonics. The wiring is in the door but no switch. They are thinking (hoping) that this is generating the faults. They have ordered a switch. Do all you Ghia owners have this switch ? (mine is May 05 build). I didn't even realise it was supposed to have one.
  11. Car is back after having GEM replaced. So far 2 days and no Alarms. Lets hope it stays that way. Mastertech, would i be correct in saying that the GEM collects all the various inputs (doors, switches, etc) from all over the car and then passes these on to other modules as required. So does the C-Max have a CSM (Central Security Module) which relies on the GEM for info, then acts accordingly ?
  12. Okay, C-Max went back to dealers after a week, and 2 more false alarms. They actually found 6 triggers, so must have gone off during day when not around. All triggers were different, so after much thinking time, got a call today at lunch time, and they are going to replace the GEM (thanks Mastertech for the info). Its on the Ford system as available, will be in Tomorrow for fitment they say. Gets anothe call at 4pm, the GEM is not available after all, its on back order, could be 10 days. (As per the Airbag, Brake light switch, and window trims. All available on the system, but not in reality !
  13. Nothing has been touched. Couldn't tell you where the module was if you asked me. Can you explain what the GEM module and PJB are please.
  14. Okay chaps, Car was in dealers yesterday, and they dumped the following trigger events from the computer with WDS. (newest First) 1. Ignition on (Dealer must have done this to test it) 2. Tail Lift Gate (My wife did this one, unlocked the tail gate, but didn't open it before the alerm re-armed, then opened it !!) 3. O/S/F door ajar (5am false alarm) 4. N/S/F door ajar (3am false alarm) 5. Audio Unit removal (False alarm, unit has never been touched) 6. Ultra Sonics (False Alarm) 7. Loss of comms between Security unit and external Horm (False alarm) 8. Hood (That was me, opened the bon
  15. Hi All Just to say that I have now had all the Seals done. It also required the plastic trims replacing (1 each front and 2 each back door), PLUS the rubber strip along the bottom of the windows. (they have 'tin' insterts which bend when removed 3 times out of 4). Must say that the creak has all but gone, so in the end i am pleased, even with all the agro, and 4 visits to the dealer (went back today to have paint work fixed where they scrathed it the 2nd visit). All was done on warranty, and despite apparent ignorance/Incompetence of some of the 'oily rags', the dealer has been understand
  16. See page 83 of the Manual. Note that the dash display will indicate if Battery is low. (or at least it should !!)
  17. My 1.8 Ghia is now 6 months old. in last 3 weeks, the alarm has gone off twice for no apparent reason (4 am this morning !!). Has anybody had similar problems ? Does anybody know if the systems stores the reason it trips, which can be recovered by the WDS ? Thanks All
  18. My C-max went in Friday to have creaky door seals replaced, as all parts where in. I got a call from the dealer about 9:30 with ..... Ah Sir, about repalceing these door seals, apparently its abit more complicated than we thought. As they go right around the door, we have to completely strip the door liners to do it. Thats okay just takes more time, BUT... we also have to remove the verticle exterior plastic trims on each door, and they are not designed to be removed. We have started the drivers door and they break the lugs off as they are removed..... Typicaly the dealer does not hold sto
  19. Thanks Pichacker. Dealer did run the WDS over it on last visit for failed brake light switch, gave me the code above, but said the WDS did not give any updates required. Just waiting now for Door Seals to come in ( have 3 waiting on 1) to fix the Ubiquitous creaky doors !!
  20. My dealer is telling me that my 1.8 petrol has ECU ver UHFBAC1. Is this later than the one above ?
  21. Okay, it went in dealers last thursday. 'Short Throw' switch is faulty, (no adjustment possible) ordered a new one, be in Friday. Friday comes but no switch. Monday comes but no switch. Now suddenly its a part thats rarer then fairy droppings, and has to be ordered in from Germany (min 5 days to country, plus 2 to dealer). No local dealers have one, and RAPID system been down all day, so no can check rest of the country. (Even then its 3 days delivery). Makes you wonder what they thought they ordered last thursday. So C-max is in dealers for at least another week (keeps the milage down !) I
  22. False Alarm, Brake light switch is 'intermittent' at switching off. It goes back to dealer tomorrow.
