  1. Anyone know how this works / if its any good, its meant to come on all Zetec and above but on the TD model I had I couldnt fathom it - and the instruction book didnt say either.. (headlamp delay being the thing where ur headlights stay on for x mins after u switch off - so they can illuminate ur pathway to the front door)
  2. yeh its a pretty good site that... wasco, yes the rack infinity changes the seat colour AND the upper and lower 'plastic' interior. the top half is a funny bluey / black colour and the bottom is the cream colour. ive ordered mine with that as it should brighten up the interior a little bit.
  3. no, you can buy a new flip key - i can buy a new flip key, anyone can, but if you have the zetec (i.e. the crappier key to start with) you cant simply swap the internal chip over (cos apparantly its set up for the ghia and titanium) dunno why / how but they were adament...
  4. not sure how it works for europe but in the uk, ford shut up shop over august, so no new cars are built.... i just ordered mine and ive been told mid to end of october.. tho that is partly due to it being a Euro 4 diesel so..
  5. lol. i asked the dealer. the flippy one is for ghia and titanium only and you cant even buy the flip key for extra from parts shop and add ur existing chip. oh well!
  6. fair comment, it just seems really flimsy.
  7. yeh the std one in comparism with the flippy one is cheap as you can get. the flippyone has a touch of class !
  8. Is this just on the one I had as a TD car or is it a really crappie design masterpiece... The fuel filler cap is locked with the central locking yeh.. the actual cap is just a screw cap, so no additional security other than the filler flap. But when the thing is locked, if you pull (even gently) the filler flap door, it partially opens, enough to get a utensil in the gap.. and from the feel of it I couldn't help but think that if you pulled with any sort of reasonable force that'd it'd 'snap open'..... anyone else found this? if so, its a bit pants isn't it?

  10. ta. i think you can buy a home charger for the 300 also. one more thing.. does the heated front screen interfere with the tom tom's accuaracy? i know you can buy an external antenna, but that sounds like too much hassle!
  11. ah i see. shame, i liked that flippy key, was good fun (sad eh) lol.
  12. can you tell me - this tom tom thing, does it have to plug into the cigg lighter or does it run on battery power alone? and has anyone downloaded the speed camera database too? and if so, is it much cop? cheers!
  13. ah cheers. i have test driven two focuses over the past few months - both titanium, but i was thinking that if that flippy key is the keyless entry thing, then how come i had to lock and unlock the doors (?) anyone have a Zetec Climate to confirm this? ta
  14. Hi, can anyone tell me which type of key you get with the Zetec Climate - I've seen a "flip-key" and a "standard" key - both with the central locking bits on. I'm wondering if the flippy key is the key-less entry thing or? Thanks!
  15. the new 1.8tdci is 115ps and 280 nm torque (with transient overboost of another 20 nm). its a sohc with a cast iron head & block, whereas the 1.6 and 2.0 TDCi's are dohc, with a aliminium head & block. the 1.8 is same 0/60 as 1.6 but its a smidge quicker on the overtaking. I think its only just been released (ie later than others) cos they had to get it up to euro 4 standard and the old one wasnt (?) i think..
  16. to reset it you hold the button in for a few seconds and the readout clears. if u do it when stationary it goes to "-.--" and if u do when moving it will prob rocket to 99.9 then settle down to a current figure - after about a mile...
  17. ha ha, i have one for td this weekend and when moving if you reset it, it goes up to 99.9mpg, regardless of how much poke u give it - it then settles down to about right after about a mile.. i was finding motorway @85/90 is 40/45mpg town driving - under 40 gives about 35/39mpg and combined (without too much poke) so about 50mph gives about 50mpg
  18. christ, that doesnt sound right at all. the Fiesta ST has a 2.0 duratec engine and people i talked to with them are getting the exact same MPG as you - and thats booting it - as you would in an ST! Take it to the dealers - some of the ST owners have got a ECU update / something to do with the fuel sender chip or something? not sure - not technically minded really..
  19. yes i heard that... but unless you are a company car driver (or a SERIOUS tree hugger), there is no point getting the Euro IV. If you are a co. car driver - like me, the Euro IV makes a BIG difference when you do your tax calculation. The Euro IV reduces the MPG figures marginally too.
  20. I went to the Ford Rally Show at Southampton this weekend and they had the new Focus ST there - the only one in Europe is what the (sexy) girlie told me!! Anyway.. it looked amazing inside and out. orange recaro seats inside, looked... a bit bright, but quite cool, nice turbo dials facing you from the top centre of the dash. its gonna be a hot car... anyone heard about its price?? i heard 22500 - in which case its gonna be more expensive than things like the Megane 225 and Golf R32
  21. hey, good review, especially important about the cup holders ha ha. ive got a 2.0 tdci on a weekend's td this weekend and ive had a great time with it. currently have a puma - its a fair bit different to that tho!! the wire on the fuel filler is just so as you dont drop the cap i think - i had a look at it and it doesnt look like its fused or anything like that... re the mpg calculator thing - this td car ive got had 400 miles on the clock when dropped off to me - and from the outset i was getting 45 mpg in 5th at 50mph and then it went to 50 mpg when slowing due to traffic etc . When yo
