Dont swear at me for posting a picture of my C-Max. Same front-end, but the rest is a little different. I have to agree with Kevin with regards to that Black Mk.2. That certainly is a tasty motor. In fact, now I have seen that, I will definately be looking at colour-coding the front end. Especially the fog light surrounds. They look so much better in the matching Panther Black. Excuse me a minute while I wipe the drool off the keyboard!

Have now managed to get my hands on this expolded-view for the front console. Still not sure where to start with regards to stripping-down the components. Any idea's ?

I would be interested to ! Mine in on monday. Hopefully I will get some of report to show what they have done, but I seriously doubt it. They could tell me that they have updated the ECU software, but I would have no way of checking. Would I ?

Me to! Gone are the day's where you used to use feeler gauges to set the gap on the spark plugs and taking the distributer cap off for a quick clean. In fact, there is so much that is done now via a lap-top, that it makes you wonder why these guy's bother to wear boiler suits.

It certainly has some umph when you put you fott down doen't it. Especially in fourth and fifth! Gets up to 70 before you know it. In fact, I have read somewhere that the mid-range power output is up there with the Porche Boxter.

Blimey, I go from not wanting to shell-out £115 to paying even more for an ipod + adapter + charger. You guy's will have me bankrupt ! Seriously, I was looking for an easy solution. It looks like I may have to resort to stripping down that front console to see if the catch had dropped down into the bottom. Hopefully it has become dislodged and not broken. An ideas as to how to remove that section of console. I am slightly reluctant due to the EPB being there.

Not to worry! I might have to resort to a lump of Blu-Tac to hold the shutter in place. Then again, I am not a smoker, so might even Super-Glue it shut. Drastic I know!

If faulty then, how does it effect fuel economy ?

Short and sweet. Have heard mention many times of something called the EGR valve. This seems to have an effect on diesel economy when faulty. Just wanted to know what exactly it is and what function does it have ?

Typically I am after assistance again, but this time from Ghia owners. When I purchased my C-Max, the chap I bought it from explained that the catch belonging to the shutter over the cigarette lighter was broken. He said that he came to open it and what looked like a small magnet fell off and dropped down into the lower console area. He tried to fish it out, but could not reach it. Now, unfortunately the shutter will not remain closed and is sprung back fully open and looks unsightly. I have rung Ford to see if you can purchase the magnet / catch and they tell me you have to purchase the whole

Calculations : 205/50/17 (standard tyre size) 102.5mm + 102.5mm + 431.8mm = 636.8mm Overall Tyre Circumference. 215/45/17 (alternative tyre size) 96.75mm + 96.75mm + 431.8mm = 625.3mm Overall Tyre Circumference. This sort of percentage difference will really not make any difference. I was once told by a tyre fitter, that to be within 3% is perfectly acceptable and quite normal. Hope this helps !

No, not really. The speedo is calibrated based on the overall wheel circumference. By going slightly wider on the tyre and compensating with a slightly lower profile, you will vertually have the same. It's easy enough to work it out if you want me to.
