  1. I've been using a similar Brodit version for my XDA for 2 years now, without any issue. Slide my XDA in when I need to use it and no need to remove the holder. It's not designed to be removed everytime anyway. If having an empty holder in your car increases the risk of it been broken into you need to look for another solution...or change region/country
  2. small umbrella fits their nicely...
  3. How can I take it out myself in order to have a look? I've seen what they've installed. Putting some foam around it should stop the noise.
  4. Question for any of the Ford specialists on the forum: Am driving around with a rattling sound coming from the front of the dash - driver side since my car was last in the garage for servicing and some other fixes to be installed. One of them was the fix for the radio reset TSB 11/2006 I have a big feeling it's coming from the voltage buffer module they installed behind the instrument display that's bouncing around while driving. How easy is it to get access to that?
  5. have the Sony MP3/CD unit installed in mine but it was replaced 6 weeks ago since there was an issue with the radio-function of it (warranty). On the new one I noticed the clock is being set to default (date in 2004, time: 11h00) intermittently when I start the car (happens about 1-2 times a week). Anybody else had the same issue before? The garage told me they had already quite a view issues with the HU supplied by Sony. It looks good, now if it would also work...
  6. I'd say all black as well. Putting a chrome circular surround around the foglights is not so easy due to the form of the bumper insert (even for a descent paintjob). Another possibility is the one below, it keeps the balance between big front grill and small foglight grills:
  7. The steering wheel would be the last place where I would apply any leather conditioner. You might get yourself in a tricky (slippery) situation while driving... If already wear&tear issues on a recent model like the Cmax, the dealer should look into it.
  8. I've put the Cmax user's guide, service book, radio guide and a folder with all car documents (insurance paper, certification card,...) in the top dash storage. Quickly accesible, they don't slide around and the space is big enough. Glove box couldn't be closed when I put them in there so it was the only remaining (out of sight)solution...
  9. Lucky for you guys. Based on what I read, your cars seems to be manufactured in 2005. If you'd read the numerous comments from some other owners you'll notice some of us really have some issues regarding poor MPG. I'm not looking for the theoretical MPG numbers from Ford, but at least something else then 30-32 MPG :!: (based on actual data from more then 14months)
  10. Don't just pull on the silver bit, but the whole top front part. There are no screws attaching the top and bottom of the tunnel together, I once removed the ashtray while looking for a place to put my GPS module...and it dissapeared in the open hole of course :!: The technician just pulled the top part of and there it was  I believe he started pulling from the back (near the box where the cup holders are)...can't remember exactly since it's about 18 months ago. I'll give it a go on mine this evening to doublecheck if you're not convinced
  11. I'm having the same issue as tesscott, MPG in the low 30s. Was in the garage last friday to have the wiper motor upgrade and the diesel warning issue corrected. mentionned to the technician about the low MPG and asked if this software upgrade would also fix the low MPG. According to him it did...but he didn't sound convinced. We spoke to the head technician and he said this kind of MPG is normal (due to bigger tyres - 17", 136bhp,...) I'm not convinced based on what I've been reading here on the forum. I'm keeping records of the fuel consumption every time I fill it up. had a nice trip 2 w
  12. I'm using GPS also in mine and don't have any issues (picking up 6-8 satellites). GPS is located on the driver side next to the small side window.
  13. If it's the MP3 version, 'MP3' is printed on the button on the left or right side of the CD slot.
  14. Have owned Scenic and Zafira before...but for pure driving joy the CMAX is the best :!: Absolutely right that you'll have quality-issues with every manufacturer, just buy the car that fits your requirements the best.
