  1. At least 25% more than your usual brand :D
  2. You will really struggle to notice the difference from the outsite. The ride and handling is down to personal choice. Apparently the new sport/zetec is as sharp a handling as the old Focus but as well damped as the old Ghia. Personally I felt it has lost some of its communication over the original but certainly feels more solid. As far as ride, you will loose a little comfort over the standard mk2 on motorway miles but gain this easily in back road ability and smile per mile.
  3. Aye I suppose unless you have actually had something like this happen you feel invincible.... /smjohns returns his pants to the inside....
  4. In the ST there is a poly/Foam surround which is not ankered in any way but just fits perfectly in the boot floor space around the wheel. The carpet sits on top of this and the wheel. This will come out quite easily as will the wheel and jack, which sit in the centre, bolted to an anker point which is 1-2inches high. With both the foam and wheel removed, it is this anker point that prevents that carpet laying flat on the boot floor. I don't think a full size spare is an option on the ST. Remember the ST boot floor has no spare wheel indentation like the normal Focus' and because of the d
  5. The standard option on the ST is now to do without the sparewheel and as such the mount. If you spec the spare wheel then all they do is weld the mount onto the boot floor....doubt there is much hassel in this.
  6. Come on lets not start panic rumours !! I have just ordered my ST2 on Fridiay with the bluetooth and dvd satnav and they confirmed that although there is delays with the BT orders there is nothing to worry about and if it adds any time it is likely to be a few weeks or a month rather than delaying them into next year. Granted that anyone ordering the kit last year has had to wait longer than we are likely too. Yes you can go for an aftermarket version and it should be able to mute the stereo and you may be lucky enough for it to play speech through the audio speakers rather than having to fi
  7. The tyre repair kit is a can of foam and a pump I think. The space saver is still an option although if you go for this, even if the wheel and trays are removed the boot carpet will not lay flat on the boot floor as the spare wheel anker mount sticks up 1-2 inches in the centre.
  8. Hehe, no the adaptive lights is a separate option as you can only have these with the standard halogen lights and not the Xenons. I think the reason behind this is that the xenons are bright enough without having to steer into the bends with you. The Auto wipers will adjust the wipe speed automatically from off to max, depending on how much it is raining. They have worked very well on all cars I have driven with them and see no reason why the Ford should be any different. The auto lights....simply that. The best bit though is the Auto dimming rear view mirror. This is excellent if you drive
  9. .....I think this is Golf mk4/5 syndrome. Astra and Civic have shown that you can grow up and still look funky. Yes the mk2 is still a great car and class leader on handling but looks are on the dull side. Hope they try harder with the next one....which I am sure they will judging by the looks of the next Mondeo.
  10. Errr....when enabled, auto lights switch on your headlights automatically when it gets dark....what else would they do? ;)
  11. Nah the turning circle is the same no matter what setting. The ST needs about 1.5 metres more space than the standard Mk2 Focus. I am really gonna struggle when I get mine as I am used to the MK1 taxi like turning circle.
  12. Not necessarily as the zetec suspension is also available as an option on the titanium. Best thing is to test drive a zetec and standard car (lx, ghia, titanium) and see which one you prefer.
  13. Dealers are now quoting May/June deliveries for cars with specs on their delayed list (e.g. BT). Hopefully Ford will resolve these issues soon.
  14. Just a quick word of warning, anyone buying a car from online companies who pre-register the car for fleet discounts, you will not be the first registered owner of the car and as such will not qualify the New Car cover on insurance policies. The common insurance confirms they will replace the car if you write it off or it is stolen within the first 12 months. You have to be the first registered owner for this to apply though. The following is an extract from Direct Line's policy although most companies are the same:
  15. Not sure.....was it that different to moondust silver? Perhaps it wasn't that popular.
  16. All of this is already included in my original post on page 1. I am keeping this up to date so always check there first. ;)
  17. Vista is their ordering system. Not sure what this could meen but be warned that Ford are experiencing delays with their ST builds. Fingers crossed yours is not one of them. Have you ordered any other optins on your ST?
  18. Well it's not been confirmed as standard spec yet so who knows what they are fitting. This is still classed as an ST only fit so until they update the specs/broch expect the odd vehicle to have them and the others not.
  19. It is the fog light surrounds that completely mess up the front. Like you said they look great on the ST but the rest are awful.
  20. lol Yes I will definitely be adding an autochanger as I don't think I will be bothered with converting my cd's to mp3. Thanks for the really useful info though. Just got to work out where I will put the thing now. I suppose I may try under the seat first but guess the boot will be the probable final home.
  21. No mystery on any of these points if you search the forums a little: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=102631 In summary: If you opted for electric windows (£175) then you will get them....if not then you will have manual rears and only Auto down on drivers door. ST with DVD SatNav does NOT come with the cd autochanger. There is a separate thread on this too which chats about how we will fit an aftermarket offering (The cable and changer is now available and apparently now fully compatible with the DVDSATNav http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... sc&start=0
  22. Been contacted by Connects2 who make the cable/controlbox which is part of the pack as confirmed in my original post. Apparently they were having 80% success rate with these and Ford steros' but have now resolved the one or two issues and as such (although still not fully tested) they are confident that this cable and changer combination will work with the newer Ford stereo's including the Denso(+Sony) DVD SatNav unit.
  23. Just updated my main post after a discussion with Ford. Adjustable pedals are now available on all Focus's for £100. Global close windows are available on the 5dr ST for £175.00 and a second remote flip key is standard on ALL ST's now.
