  1. got a 1.6 vct zetec climate at about 1,500 miles now- never get below 40 mpg even with a/c on
  2. had a good look- I've got a black bracket each side which appear to have a hole that is big enough to hold the bulbs, but no wiring. Take it no 06 plate zetec's have the wiring in place. If possible would someone be able to take a close up picture of where the brackets are
  3. Really sorry to tell you this but my car got written off after a crash the replacement time for my ford zetec climate was just under 3 months(without esp)- so be ready for a wait. Sad thing is theres nothing you can do about being carless when your insurance replaces your car Its a win lose situation
  4. Went to 4 seperate dealers in portsmouth, southampton, gosport and Cardiff(due to move there!) whilst i was looking. Was told by the cardiff and portsmouth dealer that it had been discontinued. As soon as they reach enough orders to meet the quantity of paint left, it will be gone for good. Aquarius from release was only due to last a couple of years due to it being a so called trend colour. It will not be in next years brochure in the same way Rosso Red went from the most recent 2005/6 brochure Maybe it was too close to the performance blue of the ST for peoples liking  Seems mad to
  5. I actually didn't lose anything on my focus from direct ford. I bought it brand new for 9 grand from them in march 05 plate. Was a complete bargain- saving over 4 grand on list price. I racked up 11,000 miles over 11 months before sadly writing it off getting full insurance payout. BUT I think i could have sold it for near that!! Best experience of my life getting a car from them! Got long coach journey from southampton then hit the town! Got picked up next morning from the hotel free of charge and given a tour of newcastle from a really nice driver from the company before getting my car! I
  6. aquarius blue is popular though you can't buy it in that colour anymore
  7. Same here, getting exactly the same car as you in a few weeks. My old zetec had an head rest in the centre too- weird they've decided not to keep it. The colour your getting is aquarius blue, we're quite lucky to get it as it has now been discontinued. I wouldnt mind buying your 17 inch wheels if your selling them :)
  8. www.brokers4cars.co.uk could probably beat this price too!!
  9. Directford option is the one to get- I suppose i wuld be biased though having bought my old edge from them- haggled them down to 9 grand all in(with velour mats!), being the last of the old shape march 2005 plates! Bought my ford focus 1.6 vct zetec climate from a main dealer nearer to me this time though, couldnt be bothered to get a national express from southampton to newcastle again!hehe- if you do it go coach option-they do funfares from £2!!! They do have a great price on the new model and its the 115 model- All New Focus - Ford Focus Zetec Climate Ford Focus Zetec Climate 1.
  10. Thats a promising start, i once managed 38 mpg max out of my old car with a motorway trip.
  11. I'm engaged now, I think i've just about forgotten the feeling already haha! :D Least children are planned at least 8 years away hence the fact i have gone for three doors again
  12. Probably true regarding performance- I was happy to get the order the new 1.6 vct after my crash due to the fact i managed 325 miles from a tank max on average. With fuel costs hoping new car will reach 400 from a tank driving mostly on the motorway? Take it the new model has kept the 55 sized tank?
  13. Good point- i will try not to think about the old model and treat it as a completely different car when it arrives. Its like getting a new girlfriend- You should never compare them to an ex straight away as everyone is different . Theres plus sides and weak sides to everything. Give them a chance and they may grow on you!! The new focus is not as good looking but has a better personality!hehe
  14. I had trouble finding a 1.6 (100) to test drive. Went around almost every dealer in my area- only found 1.6 (115) models to test drive. Who knows the (100) may be better in everyday town driving rather than looking at the paper stats alone. At the end of the day I think there won't be much in it. Remember when I joined forum ages ago in march 05 when i first got my now deceased car (forgot log in since) :( - The debate was whether the 1.6 was better than the 1.8 zetec . Many people went for the 1.6 therefore i suppose faster is not always better. Though i disagree hahaha my 1.8 zetec used t
  15. Everything you could ever want to now about the 1.6 ti-vct is in this article! Almost sent me to sleep it was so detailed  http://www.all4engineers.com/download.p ... 61c51caaf0
  16. I understand that- i prefer the everyday driving feel of the new 115 engine compared to my old faster 1.8, due to the fact it has more bottom end power. I do a mixture of motorway driving and some town driving. I found the third and fourth gear take off was useful on my 05 focus 1.8 zetec but sometimes the throttle lagged at lower speeds. Thats why i opted for the new 1.6 115 engine as it provides the best of both worlds. I suppose your choice is down to what you are used to and want out of the car. Personally, I would never go for the 1.6 100 engine as i came from a 1.8. The 115 is still s
  17. Had a look for you as i have nothing better to do, it be mad to get the 100 engine to be honest hehe!!! From a dealer supplied source- You can get the 1.6 lx (100) 5 door for £10314 + paint 1.6 lx (115) 5 door for £10507 + paint Is it just me or is not madness to not pay a couple of hundred more pounds for an engine that is faster, newer technology and racks up more mpg
  18. Cars heavier now so I would recommend the 1.6 115 engine. I'm coming from a 05 old shape 1.8 model though. From my test drive I went for the 115 straight away, the 100 engine is slow between 40-75 and has worse mpg! Depends how you drive- The new car is far heavier and bigger now. Residuals should be better on 115 as its the petrol engine to get
  19. Menace- your accident sounds very bad, glad your driving such a safe car now! I agree with the looks- reckon if i was in a cars sales showroom i would be attracted to the previous model first. Can't complain though, shouldnt have written off my car  Like the ST in the performance blue. Its a tough one but i reckon the new shape actually looks a lot better than the old shape in the ST. At least now you can tell it apart from the rest of the range. My old edge didnt look a million miles from the ST. It came with the ST spoiler as standard, once the clear indicators came on from ebay
  20. My Avator was from baywatch themed night, i'll see if i can find the numbers- don't remember much haha!!! I agree its lost some of the sporty looks of the old model, its starting to grow on me though. Think it may drive even better at least according to reviews. The new ford mondeo wow looks amazing!! its the best thing i've seen in ages. The most important thing - I am really glad that the new focus is even safer than the original. I could do with the 2 extra airbags hehe! Not that i plan to crash like this again My car on a nice summers day- After a mere 35 mph head on cr
  21. cheers for that, my definition of lumbar support wasn't right. I take it the new model has height-adjustable driver's seat. My old model had a winder under the seat to move the seat up and down. Does the new model use this or has it got the adjustment lever on the side of the chair like the new vw golf. Quite interesting my nanny is intersted in buying the new golf. Couldn't believe how many ideas they have nicked from my old mk1.5 focus! The head light switch is now on the side and now all the switches are pretty much in the same place. It will be amazong no matter what- going 3 months
  22. Had a ford focus 1.8 Edge (zetec with extra bits) from march 05 until recently I crashed it! Enjoyed my old car so much ordered a new ford focus zetec climate 1.6 115 straight away due to come in april 28th after 3 month wait. Coming from the 1.8 I know it slightly slower, fair enough but think i might be missing some standard features of my old model.. My old car had discs all the way around- I read on the ford focus spec from website that only ghia and above have lumbar support! Does this mean I can't adjust my chair up and down. I used to find this really handy in my old car being
