  1. Craig - you seeing things? I've been trying for ages to beat the swear bot that this forum uses. Try popping in an expletive and see what it displays - lol
  2. m8 - I blame it on all the silver cars I see. Its like George Orwell's 1984 round here for silver cars. I had to make a stand for the freedom of choice in car colour! Your wife fashion conscious? Chris :drinking:
  3. Hi Craig, Moondust Silver m8. Its the lightest of the silver colours and from what i saw on the Ka I had last couple of weeks its the best colour i've seen on any car for keeping looks when dirty. Rainspots don't show at all! :) Highly recommended, Chris
  4. ortho - let me know when you get your wheels so I can keep an eye out for them on @bay for you ;) Locking wheel nuts are a waste of time mate as many people on this forum have found to their cost! There's this tool called a Gator Grip that has loads of little rods which mould to any kind of recess and allow the Chav's to get any wheel nut off in seconds! If you look in the picture above you should see the little rods waiting to fit your new alloys wheel nuts  Seriously m8 - is it worth the hassle? Chris
  5. No worries m8, Thanks for all the help. Would have been nice but guess I can live without it. Maybe this is a subtle way of my motor telling me to be happy with what I have and not look for ways to play with it  Please accept a virtual :drinking: for your troubles, appreciated :) Warm regards, Chris :drinking:
  6. Thanks pichacker :) I just had a looksee at my fusebox but could not make head or tail of the numbers :( On its * * * * end nearest bottom edge to me it says:- FORD 3M5T-14A073-BF-MID1 021203 00050245 519058317 003628 M1 On the top of the front face there is a barcode that says:- * 3OS519058317 * In view of your mention of the DX suffix am I out of luck or am I looking at the wrong numbers? Would be just my luck to stumble at the first hurdle  Vitrocmax - Another thing I did notice was no fuse puller or spare fuses! Chris
  7. nooo, nooo, noooo  I had a Ka in Moondust Silver the other week. I swear the colour is perfect - you would never need to wash it as even after all the rain, dirt, bird mess it still looked good. Best colour i've seen so far in the silvers for low maintenance. Thinking banganomics m8 - start as you mean to go on
  8. Mine took 3 weeks from stock in March FWIW
  9. I think, so please don't quote me on this, but they would not be liable to refund you the difference between the old and new monthly payment cost because the loan is to pay off over a fixed term from the date you signed the agreement. The car I feel would not come into it unless it was delayed beyond the promised delivery date. Then would be a good time to haggle some extra's to keep you sweet or you could hassle them for recompense for the increased cost in payments for a car that you do not own through no fault of your own. Beyond that, if delayed still further your only option would be to w
  10. reefman - Sounds like your credit agreement has been drawn up to consolidate onto the new car, yeah? Seeing as you are still negotiating this consolidated credit agreement why not tell them you've changed your mind on the car, and seeing as the credit agreement has not been finalised with your signature cannot see how they could hold you to it. See if this makes them come to your way of thinking ;) I've been through this myself in the past and have now learnt that you have not to give them an inch or they will use it to their advantage. Word of mouth is not enough - you need it in writing at a
  11. SOrry to hear that they may consider going full member only  It is one of the strengths of sites like this that they are open to all. Once you implement a "Tufty Club" regime i'm afraid i'll have to look for pastures new and i'm sure this forum will lose a lot of decent input from the likes of its current half members. I hope the owners of this site will bear this in mind when deciding whether to Tufty Club or not. Maybe FFOC could look at advertising revenue if bandwidth costs are what they are taking into account? Chris :drinking:
  12. Hi Craig :drinking:  Sorry for not tossing you a virtual one m8  I would have PM'ed you one, but fresh from the fridge, didn't want you to let it warm up and waste it  Funny you should mention Legal Cover with insurance companies - I rang mine a few times explaining what I wanted and they did not know if they would be able to help so offered to get back to me. Never heard from them again even after pestering them so guess that Legal Cover is just a scam to get some extra money off you. Lesson learned for me - buy secondhand car paid for in full with no credit - treat
  13. One more nomination/vote for Vitro :) I Promise not to post too often m8 to keep your workload light  Chris :drinking:
  14. TDCIGHIA - I think disney_cjd has got a dose of his typing skills again  I would so like the bodykit myself and those 19" shoes with spacers on that CMax above with new suspension springs. 8) Alas with me being in the 30+ age group i'm afraid mr. sensible keeps telling me keep your car stealthed and not attract attention to it for fear of people scratching it, nicking your wheels, nicking your bodywork, trying to race you. Oh my  I find talking about it easier on the stress levels than actually doing it  A guy can dream. I do like looking at motors like that though - like borro
  15. Hi jakx, Has your m8 looked at the wolf stuff? An alternative to the Ford OEM skirts and stuff and there's load of other cosmetic stuff :) http://www.wolf-concept.de/content_e/models/cmax.php Chris
  16. Hi TDCIGHIA, Get the commitment to your new motor having ALL the fixes applied before delivery in writing from the dealer. If they cannot be bothered to do this courtesy for you as the paying customer there's plenty of dealers that would gladfully take their place and please you. Play it by the book with them and get all statements of promises in writing and you should be fine. Give them a verbal loophole and you run the risk of them taking advantage of you IMO. Hope it goes smoothly for you. Chris
  17. Justice - Sounds like a bunch of muppets with toy soldiers up their @ss's. Your is an extreme and unusual case - Do they not realise that giving you a replacement vehicle and then fixing the one you have now and palm it off onto the Ford Secondhand Network would be the best for all concerned including them?. What are they on? This would cost them nothing more than sorting your current vehicle etc if they sat down and did the sums. They would have shifted another CMax and would in time shift the other one to a secondhand punter. No wonder Ford are losing money hand over fist if their employees
  18. Justic - Have a virtual :drinking: one on me m8. You need a break from the motor shinanigans. Been thinking about the T's&C's - wonder if it would get a better response asking someone in the GENERAL forum for someone to email you a scanned copy? There must be someone with a copy kicking about. Chris :drinking:
  19. Thanks pichacker - theres a chance which keeps me happy :) I would be most grateful if you could let me know what the outcome is of the evaluation your undertaking. Looking at the steering wheel and the TIS drawing I do wonder if all that you would need are the two switch sets with their brackets and attached loom? The drawing shows the holes they bolt onto etc, and looking at my airbag cover maybe that also needs changing to allow for the brackets sticking out the side of the wheel adjacent the cover. Hehe, getting ahead of myself again. Will wait and be patient  Cheers, Chris
  20. CHeers for the morale support Peter :) Luckily the mechanic on Friday will I hope do a quick run round with me as passenger to show him fault with my cars wind in the window so I'll drop it into the conversation and see what comes of it. Yep, promise to keep you posted as usual  Chris
  21. Justice - Don't do it yourself - Pop a garden cane on the dash and use it to point to where the sound is coming from and then ask passenger to * * * * dash for you  Seriously though - is your car very clean? My car has managed to collect some dirt now and i'm sure its the dust in the car thats lubricated all joints and reduced the noise I used to have with the dash. Either that or i've got used to it. Chris
  22. Good stuff :) I would like to have seen their face when you said the word "FREE". Bet they never flinched? Do let us all know the outcome of your fixes and what you think of the car afterwards. Hope things go well for you :) Chris
  23. Mick - Have you had trouble getting the garage to help you with this in getting your ECU/PCM updated to the latest fixes that fix the power delivery? Reason I ask is a number of people are being told that their dealers are waiting for the update CD's for their WDS. If they get in touch with FCRC/Ford Technical then the updates may get sent to them if you harass them enough  I don't think their available for general release and with my motor being on the verge of being committed may have had something to do with why my motor is fixed yet other people still waiting. FCRC may be your best be
  24. Ortho - tch tch ;) You need more revs m8 - If you get the boost right with a bit of practice you won't have any problems get a quick getaway. May wish you had traction control though  Your spoiling yourself - When you get your car do you think you willl be able to handle the running in after having a taste at the rim of the darkside chalice?  If you fancy experimenting have you tried doing block changes up the gearbox when racing yet? Chris
