Randy, i sold my Cmax, it went in the garage seven times and i had enough. I now own a newish Golf 2.0 GT tdi and it's fantastic. (You meet the nicest people in a VW) Other than the faults is was a nice car to drive, but the build quality is not a patch on the VW. Buying a Cmax will also lose you a heap of money when you sell it. p.s regards to Bluemax

Bluemax, i had a Cmax and now it's gone, because of too many problems. I find "Troll" very insulting, can't you conduct yourself properly?

Get rid of it quick, this is just the start!!!!!

I sold my Cmax for a newish Golf 2.0TDI and it is fantastic, i'm just sorry that i wasted alot of time and money on the Max. This site seems to be very "doom and gloom" when you check out the VW and Skoda forums they do seem happier with their cars.

I knowing i'm being lazy but if you are paying an extra £1000 for a diesel car, with the extra diesel price what is the break even price. FAO Bluemax, i asked my Mum about the Ant/spider thing and she says it was not racist!

I think VW are bring out a 170 bhp 2.0 diesel soon - i'm sure i'll be corrected if i'm wrong.

JonJen, you can hear it's a diesel when cold, but after warming up it's fine. On a rough road you can hear some tyre noise but it's not loud - it is quieter than the Cmax especially at speed.

Calm down, only joking - are you as miserable as your car?

JonJen, the newish VW so far so good. It is a shame because the Max was only the second new car that i've ever had and it has been a complete let down. Still i am so pleased with the VW, and now i've brought the car that i want as opposed to the car i thought i should buy. All the best to you all in 2006 (you really should try the new Golf - enough said)

After 15 months of moaning about the car i have sold it. I've got a Mk5 Golf 2.0 Tdi and it's fantastic. The paint on the bumpers and fuel flap match the rest of the car (unlike the cmax), the boot opens with one fluid movement, there are no squeaks or rattles and it is so smooth and quiet.The MPG is better than my 1.6 tdci cmax, i lost loads of money on the Max - i will not buy another Ford. Goodbye.

SteveTDCI, Mark 4 or 5 Golf?

After my poor Ford experience, i'd take the whizzpopper anyday!! Went to Scotland in the new Vectra, fantastic car, very solid, maybe Ford should build their cars better.

The car's at work are two Passat's and one Bora all of them has done over 120,000 miles and they are still great to drive,tight, no squeaks or rattles and returning about 46 mpg. We have had no problems with them and will probably change to the new Passat's next year.
