  1. im gonna pay the difference to get the one that will work but i have another question. When fitting my induction kit there wasnt a MAF sensor on the pipe, so does that mean i dont have one at all and will not be able to see the temperature of the incoming air????
  2. i just bought one of ebay, then read the actual description and it dosent support the protocol on the mkII's  but they sell all sorts so i might be able to get the right one
  3. awesome thanks guys, the only thing is the black box on the picture looks quite big, it would look silly constantly plugged into that and i would probably knock it all the time, any ideas? maybe i could get a similar plug and make a sort of extension lead to the box in a hidden place.
  4. Where is it? :D Im looking to put in a carpc and whether to use the usb or bluetooth diagnostics tool usb: http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_STN327.html bluetooth: http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_STN327BT.html to me it looks like they are quite chunky so i dont want them getting in the way of the foot wells
  5. I wouldnt mind the spoiler if your not going to use it
  6. it does need a good tug, try squeezing the plastic around it, not the bit with the clips the bit around it p.s it sounds gorgeous now, you can only hear it at about 3-3.5k revs

  9. when you say idle, is that the first time you start the engine right after ignition or lets say when the engine is cold and you just pulled up to a junction?
  10. C320UK, not the average mileage then eh?
  11. heh, they must not like us in the engines sections, they keep moving us to the mk2
  12. the way the airbox is currently sitting i think i can use the existing plastic pipe between the engine and airbox, is that not a good idea then???
  13. yep i get ya too! so the breather filter only stops crap entering so it wouldnt matter what make you use. im going the cheap way with a ripspeed :D
  14. on the bmc box it shows power curves. one for a diesel golf and one for a petrol cooper s golf: bhp @ flywheel 112.2 improved to 120.3 bhp @ wheel 89 improved to 95.2 cooper: bhp @ flywheel 165.9 improved to 172 bhp @ wheel 136.6 improved to 140 of course these will vary with car make & type also the size of engine
  15. right i have just clicked what the breather filter is, one of my mates bought a cheapy ripspeed induction kit, and he always called the breather a "oil filter" which is rather confusing, anyhow what im going to do is get a cheap breather filter from halfrauds. And get a cold air feed kit. Does the cold air feed have to be facing the front of the vehicle? so that the air is pushed into the filter or can it face towards the ground???
  16. just to let you see the size of it compared to a cd. i just popped out to have a look and it will fit.. just, yes it will be very tight. the only thing im thinking about now is the air feed, by the looks of it the current one is more of a rounded edges rectangle where as on the bmc it is circular so i may need one of these: http://www.thepipercrossshop.co.uk/accessories.asp not sure where im going to mount it, also what about the breather do i need one????
  17. craigc_zetec, will do! it will probably be on sunday, i dont really want to start taking it out and mucking it up when it starts going dark and i have work the next morning
  18. ok recieved the box this morning, from first looks its not as big as i thought it would be and should easily sit in place of the old airbox:D
