  1. I have done this again yesterday and did it exactly as gavin mentioned in the first post. I returned an average of 62.7 mpg and did manage to stick at 70mph, the motorway was very quiet. so I have done the test twice now or as near as possible and got mpg of over 60mpg so I'm very happy with that.
  2. I've got a weather station sender outside near the car, thats a 433mhz unit, may have been that :?
  3. Yep, I had this last week, couldn't open the car with the remote so I used the key, faffed around before starting then the alarm went off and it wouldn't stop. Rather embarrasing at the time in the middle of town  then I remembered about using the spare key, you have to open the car then start it right away or the alarm goes off. This worked and I drove home, got out of the car and locked it with the remote :? :? Why?
  4. Discomax, all you need now is a replacement panel filter from Jetex then you will be impressed  Oh yes!!
  5. Hope all you C-Maxers have a good Christmas :P :P :P All the Best. Cheers Ian
  6. Thats really good, same as I'm getting thereabouts :P
  7. I think Gavin was trying to see if all the C-Max fuel computers were showing approximately the same result as some cars seem better than others. I have had the mpg computer on without resetting for over 700 miles and the majority of that was town/city driving, only 200ish miles on the motorway and my average was 35 mpg which was better than my 1.9 TDi PD130 that was in my galaxy, that used to average out for the same as 31mpg but the tank was bigger so you could go further. From past experience I think people may find that the fuel economy gets better after the first service. I've had a
  8. Did this today best I could on the motorway, the computer returned an average of 62.4 mpg, it wasn't for 5 mins, just under 4. The mpg went up and down from 70is to 55 mpg and it leveled itself out at the total above. I had just under half a tank and I also have a Jetex panel filter fitted. :)
  9. Well i ordered this last Friday and it arrived Wednesday through Coolmotion. 8)
  10. If anybody is interested here is the site I purchased the filter from: http://www.coolmotion.co.uk/ Regards
  11. It arrived today and is fitted. There is a noticable difference throughout, excellent pull right through all the gears. YAHHOOO :D :D I recommend one of these filters just for the fun factor, i haven't had a really good test as it has been wet today but the ESP has been working overtime. :P On a bad point, don't drop tools in the engine bay, it was a mare getting a torx driver out from the cover under the engine.
  12. Good idea, I will get out and do that tomorrow then post some results. :D
  13. Have you got water ingress somewhere, wet carpets?. That would cause heavy condensation.
  14. Fenwicks, oohh don't mention that place, cost me a bloody mint in there yesterday  Spot on with the traffic though, it didn't help at Asda as some muppet truck driver pulled out in front of a Galaxy i was behind at the time, trashing the front end of it. Hey did you know that ODEON stands for Oscar Deutsch Entertains Our Nation. Right I will shut up now
  15. Maybe it didn't, but it was on. I believe you are right ref the AC not pumping cold air through below 5 deg C but if it is on it must take energy from the engine regardless, same for any consumable which would result in increased mpg. On another point, I think the cluster firmware update does make a difference too, before I had it done I was getting some ridiculously low mpg figure as well.
  16. Well it is already on its way but I don't think it will arrive before Christmas, thanks anyhow, something to keep in mind for another purchase.
  17. Did a trip yesterdayfrom Dover to Canterbury, set the fuel average to zero then set of up the A2 to Canterbury. No harsh acceleration, steady 60 to 70mph on the dual CW, into Canterbury, it was quite busy traffic then stopped at Asda on Sturry Rd. Fuel Average for that journey, 60.4mpg By the way I had a fully loaded car too, 2 kids and missus, a boot loaded to the top with xmas pressies and the AC was on. You have to drive sedately to get that mpg, one urge to get your boot down and you have lost it. :D :D ps It's not something I plan on doing very often, waste of a good car
  18. Hold the button down on the indicator stalk then turn on the ignition, keep the button pressed down until TEST appears in the display. You will be able to cycle through the info by pressing the button each time. To get out of test mode just turn the key back to 0 position.
  19. I need to top up the oil but not sure which oil to use. Is there a specific spec of oil to use? Reason I'm asking is that I had a Galaxy 1.9 TDI 130PD and the oil for that was very specific indeed VW 505.01 spec, the wrong oil could wear the camshaft. Cheers.
  20. Thanks vitro, lools like the max and mr jetex will be getting acquainted in the near future. :D :D
  21.       no prob nick.
  22. I bought mine tax free for just under £12000, nice if you can do that
  23. Now your avatar really does mean something
  24. Has anybody replaced their standard air filter on the 2.0 TDCi for a Jetex replacement panel filter part no. F280171? Does the oiled filter * * * * up the MAF and is there a significant increase in driveability? I'm thinking of buying one but for £40 ish i need to know if im making a good decision. Cheers JB
