  1. Feel silly asking this question Has anybody replaced the sidelight bulbs on a 05 or later Cmax. I took a headlight out at the weekend to replace the bulb, but the holder has no clips to compress at the side to release it (unlike the description in the manual). The holder also rotates 360 degrees without releasing.
  2. Faxo Thanks for the info. Following your instructions I have reset the one shot open/closing. Next step is to get Jennings to sort out their shoddy workmanship.
  3. Has anyone replaced the side light bulbs on a car with factory fitted zenons as the sidelights look a puny yellow against the pure white light I seem to remember some topic about LED bulbs a while ago but cannot seem to find it.
  4. Hi All Just got all the door seals done today on my 9 month old 2 litre petrol Ghia after waiting three months for the parts! Got the car back with more minor niggles than it went in with: One shot closing only working on drivers door Front passenger door glass bottoms with a loud thud Drivers door handle feels like its about to fall off Black plastic trim around top of drivers door loose Clock & date not reset on radio (minor) What happened to quality checks before releasing a car back to the owner? Plus The car also needs a new windscreen due to faulty heating elements & the garage a
  5. Welcome to the fold Codhead (no offense). Bought my Cmax from Jennings at Stockton as I have had my last three Fords from them - they usually provide a good service. Like everyone else I have had some minor niggles; the latest being new door seals on my April 05 Ghia 2litre petrol & last week a third of the heated screen packed up. Apart from that the car is a joy to drive & I'm sure you will enjoy it.
  6. Had a heated screen on my Mondeo bought new in 1995. Great idea when it worked but ended up having it replaced 3 times & finally gave up using it when a large number of wires failed. My March 05 Cmax Ghia has one & now the weather up here is getting colder I have started to use it, however this screen has a large area from the RHS drivers door pillar to the centre of the screen that will not clear. My local Ford garage Jennings have said they will investigate when the car goes in for new door seals next week (to stop creaking sounds that I haven't heard since the summer when the rep
  7. I have had a 2-litre petrol Ghia for nearly 6 months & after the initial run in phase I am now getting 34-38 mpg in mostly town driving with occasional A road travel. The engine is smooth & the pick up, particularly in the lower gears is as good if not better than the Tdci with the added advantage of being a lot quieter. The engine is the highly reliable Duratec HE, which has been proven in the Mondeo
  8. The solar reflective windscreen has a silvery purple tint when viewed from the front but not square on (about 45 degrees is the best). It also has the letters IR in a small circle at the bottom of each side of the windscreen.
  9. I had the same dilemma about petrol or diesel & was being pulled towards the TDCI until I realised that most people who posted on this forum were complaining about either the car or the engine. The people who bought petrol didn't normally post as their engines are proven, reliable & quiet. If you want a noisy, vibrating car (in comparison to the petrol) that goes like s**t off a stick but still has technical problems, then go for the diesel. I bought a 2-litre petrol Ghia with a few toys so the cost was the same as a TDCI, however I will get less for it when I sell it Having had the
  10. Had my 05 2.0 litre petrol Cmax Ghia in for the recall job on the rear wiper yesterday & revised software for the Sony CD autochanger (to allow release of the cd's inside). Mentioned about the creaking noise from around the doors in dry hot weather. The garage told me they had received some notification from Ford & after checking the doors have now ordered new door seals for all the doors (except tailgate)! I assume the new seals have been modified to cure the problem but will keep you up to date when they are fitted. I have the part numbers if anyone is interested?
  11. Had an 05 Cmax 2 litre petrol Ghia fo a month now & I have loved every minute. I can honestly say that this is the best handling car I have had in 30 years of motoring. Car took 13 weeks to arrive & came with: Sunroof Xenon lights Front & rear park assist Solar reflective front screen Privacy glass Sony 6 disc player Mudflaps, rubber & velour carpets (throw in from dealer) Machine Silver paint. Car is averaging 35mpg which is not bad considering the car has only done 700 miles & is still pretty tight. Build finish is great (compared with 04 2nd hand cars I have seen) &a
  12. Has anyone noticed the 05 Cmaxes do not have a boot external keyhole. When did that dissapear? Still waiting for the sunshine to appear up here to take some piccys of the solar reflective windscreen. Should have bought an extra heater instead
  13. Got the car yesterday & first impressions are it's been worth the wait :P . The windscreen has the letters iR marked in the bottom corner on each side & a purplish tint from the outside. Now all we need is some sunshine to see if it makes any difference
  14. Have look at page 2 of this post. I asked the same question & Jackblack advised there was a way to alter the head unit internally :) http://www.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=53849
  15. Yes the car is new and the dealer has told me it's their first Cmax with one, however you are dead right on the £100 off the bill. I will let you know the outcome next week :!:
