  1. Picked up the ST spoiler and fitted it today, made up with it. A piece of cake to fit, its a straight swap.................just a little jiggery pokery to line the screw holes up. the only snag was, as you chaps had advised me, The new multiplug for the brake light doesnt match so you have to cut the ends off and make a quick joint. Otherwsie easy. Thanks to all you focus fans for the advice.
  2. Dropped it of tonight at The bodyshop, and he's charging me £80. and from the work he has done in the past, it will be top notch!!
  3. picked it up today, gonna drop it off tomorrow with a bit of luck
  4. Yet another tale of the terrible "techs" at fords. I posted somthing on another mechanics forum, about my car pinking but the "techs" thought i must have been hearing things. I got slated by the other forum members for criticising the ford dealers. BUT the truth is the delaer backup from fords is CRAP as your story backs up!! if the "computer says no" then thats it. there musnt be a problem. Personally i would go straight to the head (i wont call him mechanic) technician and tell him the problems
  5. Spoiler ordered from Ford dealer today for the same price as FPUK inc postage , and i didnt want the spoiler coming via the trusty royal mail. Gonna take it to the bodyshop tomorrow to get him to paint it COLORADO RED, im sure he'll do me a good price as he sprayed the XR for me last year.
  6. Great advice as allways chaps, cheers
  7. Just about to take the plunge and order a new ST spoiler from FPUK, For those of you that have done the same thing, How much did it cost you to get it painted at a bodyshop......and does this kit below contain all the clips and stuff to do a straight swap from my standard zetec one ? http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/focus_s ... er_853.htm
  8. Does anyone know what the frequency for changing the pollen filter is on the mk2, I know on the Mk1 it was 12 months, and Knowing how hard and innaccesible it is to change, i want to make sure the "techs" at ford actually do it and not just say its been done, when mine goes in for its 2nd year service.
  9. Great info chaps i got it to work on the new focus. Also found this page which is very interesting http://www.focushacks.com/index.php?modid=37
  10. Sorry to hijack the thread but does the TRIP COMPUTER DTC code check work on all foci with a trip computer. I know it worked on my MK1. but i cannot get it to work on my 07 Mk2 1.8 petrol ZETEC CLIMATE, which has the trip computer function.
  11. Fully aware of accelerated clutch wear when holding on hills mate, but TBH we both use the handbrake often on hill starts etc, as the focus has always had a sloppy biting point, whereas other cars i drive are spot on , even a bloody whizzpopper,
  12. Whilst on about clutches, either i am paranoid (which is possible) or my clutch is showing signs of wear ie in terms of when idling in NUETRAL you can hear the release bearing spinning, im sure it is the bearing as when you put the clutch in the noise stops. And as you drive off, you can hear the noise i have always associated with a worn clutch, which is the rivets in the friction material rubbing on the flywheel as it takes up drive. My car is just approcahing 24000 miles. What do you guys think, and what are the chances of ford fixing it under warranty, Im sure this clutch problem is assoc
  13. All my Local FORD dealers are RUBBISH, My nearest dealer in Northwich is the WORST for service and sales. they show no respect for peoples cars, one service on my 2 year old Mk 1 focus left pollen filter sealant all over the car, including the drivers seat and greasy paw prints over the steering wheel and then look at you daft when you complain!!!! And i wont go into the Highway robbery they practice on their used forecourt. Another local dealers salesman were shouting and swearing amongst themselves well within earshot of me and my young son, who were looking to buy a car at the time (we did
  14. Ive always thought the clutch on my 07 1.8 HE never to be as good as it should be, in terms of biting point etc. the best way i can describe it is, that it seems to have a long biting point, ie its not as easy to hold on a hill as the other focus's we have had, it feels as thought he point at which it bites is always slightly changing and hence you have to constantly adjust the pedal whilst at standstill on a hill. AND just this last week im positive that that point has moved again as its right at the top of the pedal. and add to that the mettalic rattle that can be heard when you move of in 1
  15. Whilst looking up info on my 1.8 HE engine i came across this page , it says its a mondeo engine but i think it will be the same info for the focus more or less http://home.att.net/~biker16/Duratec_HE.html It may be of interest to you chaps
  16. dont know if this is any help, but my MK1 ZETEC SE 1.6 had no cover on from brand new.
  17. thanks for the pics, and i dont think the silver ones will go well with my Red car. although the fit your colours well. My car colour is red and black so im really after some black ones, I may go for a MK1 set. cheers again chaps
  18. thats the pic i was after mate thanks................
  19. Has any one got the stainless steel type of inner sill protectors fitted to their Foci. I am after black stick on ones like i had on my MK1, BUT fords only do stainless steel type ones. If anyone has got them fitted, can they post a piccy up of what they look like fitted. Cheers
  20. you should have a THREE YEAR WARRANTY, unless good old ford have an exception like they do with TRIM and stuff. So if your car is a JAN 07, you should be able to take it back to the dealer and get it sorted under warranty
  21. My 1.8 HE 125 BHP if thats any different from a standard focus 1.8  is a really rapid once its in the powerband as i call it, Much faster than my MK1 1.6 zetec se was. THE ONLY THING TO LOOK AT THOUGH is that the gearing is really short legged, ie at 70mph its doing around 3200 plus rpm and at motorway speeds its reving quite high. Its as though forgot to put a 6th gear in there. so its MPG ist that good. Id suggest a test drive first. Also remember that the zetec climate has harder suspension that the sport trim level. or thats what FORD say anyway. also the 1.8 has electronic steering
  22. The focus 1.8 duratec HE has just started pinkin really badly, especially on hills etc etc,, hopin its just crap petrol that we have filled up with, but has anyone any experience with Pinkin and its causes
  23. excellent. sets the car off nicely ,cheers buddy
