  1. focus plaform is more similar to the c-max, and kuga than mondeo. agreed lol, when does the new capri launch? it may even replace the ST version of the focus. apparently though it will still use the same chassis as the focus:S
  2. dont think so, mondeo is a lot bigger car.:S
  3. lol, cant say ive had a problem with mine so far its 0 here at the moment and been below 0 overnight with snow. Never frozen up so far. do you use washer fluid? if so is it readymix? or stuff you mix up yourself? Ive been using halfords pink premium stuff, which they are doing on a 3 for 2 offer... supposed to good down to something like -6
  4. lol, just asked because it seems like the heated washer jets are tied in as part of the heated windscreen.. so if you have 1 you should have the other. Just checked with the details you gave me the other day via PM. it says you have heated washer jets, and heated mirrors. if you pm me an email address or something I will send it accross in PDF format.
  5. hi, do you already have a heated front screen then? if so, you may already have heated jets... are there any cables running under the bonnet soundproofing?
  6. its due out autumn this year.. so probably around november. launch is supposed to be monday at the detroit motorshow:) should be interesting lol. if its good enough I might trade in once the new 1 has been out for 6 months or so.
  7. yep, a bit reluctant to say.. in case i get abuse.. as somebody else on here has put 19" RS alloys on their focus, dont get me wrong... they look great, but to me it just looks a bit too high, especially when you know what they look like on the RS. If lowered though I think they would look fantastic.
  8. with RS alloys as well for them to look decent you have to lower the suspension.
  9. wonder if its been tested in scotland! no pun or offence intended.. just they reckon on the news it was only a few degrees off the same temperature as the south pole or something in some places.
  10. you can switch it off as far as I know. not a problem though for me anyway because Im not planning on using aftermarket alloys.. keeping my 18" ford ones which im happy with:)
  11. same here lol, and they are 4 wheel drive!
  12. will probably need, FINIS:1544432 Main, With Heated Windscreen, With Heated Washer Jet - Wiring FINIS:1501053 4M51-17666-BC From: 03-12-2007 With Heated Windscreen - Heated Jet FINIS: 1551587 From: 03-12-2007 With Heated Windscreen - heated windscreen switch judging by the part descriptions it is all tied in with the heated windscreen.. Ive looked at the dash looms, and none mention heated windscreen.. so its possible that 1 loom gives you both heated jets and windscreen and just plugs into the main loom somewhere. to make full use, it would require the heated windscreen as well Al
  13. lol, I had a near miss earlier on. I came down my road driving slowly, and where people have been dirving up and down it, effectivly it polished the ice. came around a bend, which goes slightly downhill halfway around.. as the road continues downhill after. put the brakes on and the car just slid along the road.. even released the pressure to try and regain grip by the car just kept moving:S must of slid about 5 metres.. but the traction control still managed to keep the car in a straight line... just luckily there was no obstructions.
  14. halfords premium washer fluid is quite good, and it doesnt freeze eigther well not until -6 they quote.... they are currently doing a 3 for 2.. was 2 for 1 lol but the buggers changed it to 3 for 2/
  15. ok lol, i dont know.. sorry. Traction control is supposed to maintain traction in any situation and stop the wheels spinning... even in the rain if you pull away too quickly and wheels spin it kicks in then.. so its not just to stop you skidding. It isnt much different to 4x4 traction control. but it will never work the same as a 4x4 system as theres only power the 2 wheels, so on a 2 wheel drive car the traction control will always be at a disadvantage.
  16. nope, ESP is to do with understeer and oversteer... if the car senses your taking a corner too fast and likely to loose control it will cut power to the engine and activate the relavant calipers to keep the car under control. But the traction control system is built in as part of the ESP and ABS systems. As it wasnt available without the ESP. Its what ford refer to as Traction Assist (TA) theres also, EBD, and EBA on this system as well Emergency brakeford distribution, emergency/electronic brake assist.
  17. Washer fluid level sensor is generally only fitted now on cars with headlight washer jets. Although it is retrofitable.. but it costs a fair amount of money lol. needs a new washer bottle, sensor, and jumper loom at thevery least.. so i decided to retrofit the whole headlamp washer kit at the same time and get it enabled on IDS. Heated washer jets were standard on some models.. on my titanium it has them as standard.
  18. hi, ive also noticed the traction control working.. if the car ever slides it always manages to go in a straight line.. never swerves off to 1 side or anything.. also found it reduces any slide.
  19. thought they might of only been for off road use only:S
  20. if im correct you should have a level 2 cluster. If you dont mind PM me your registration I can probably find out for you. Level 3 is the large sat nav version of the cluster with large red information screen, as when my registration number was used in the dealer to filter the search results, it came up with only level 3 available for my car. and level 1 is the type fitted most likely to the last of the mk2 before the facelift, which had the red screen. Reason I think that is because looking at the image i posted. the bottom one, you can just about make out the silver insert between the
  21. lol take it by that you are referring to the dunton technical place? and I dont currently have the wiring for the washer sensor.. but from what i could see on the parts catalogue its a jumper loom so I was going to get it. should have the correct gem because I have a titanium
  22. should be able to:) once you remove the door car i think theres a plastic panel behind it that unbolts.. havent actually removed so i cant be sure. but thats what it looked like was there. ive got to change the glass in mine at some point.. just havent got around to it yet lol got the glass already. long story, but basically in my case retarded dealer i brought from done something, and it left a huge scratch on the glass deep enough to catch your nail on...I didnt notice when i brought because like most people are under the assumption.. car is inspected.. cleaned and washed before you take
