  1. Totally agree with RapidAssistant. I wouldn't want to be without cruise, although at the launch the Titanium was offered with cruise as a £200 option then dropped in favour of the "sporty" look.
  2. Mine work fine - they come on when I'm in the garage and go out when I reverse onto the drive. Then when putting it away again its very useful when the lights come on.
  3. AVC depends on the model but according to Audio Guide is available on the following Ford radios: 2000/3000 4000 4050 5000 5000C/6000CD* 6000CD 6006MP3 6006E9006 * With centrally located On/Off and Volume control
  4. I had an X Reg 2.0L Ghia previously now I have the 1.6VCT Ghia and my comments are: 1. Improved build quality 2. Engine is much smoother, quieter, economical and free revving 3. Higher spec 4. Cheaper to buy in real terms 5. Better handling 6. More interior/storage/boot space 7. Much less road noise 8. Lighter steering 9. Better all round vision 10. The seats are more comfortable 11. Easier to reverse into parking spaces And more…. I love it My only gripe is the trip computer before it was separate and I could observe MPG and mileage at the same time,
  5. No its not that either thanks. I think its the interior volume sensor for the AVC (automatic volume control) of the ICE. I was hoping someone could confirm or deny my theory :?
  6. Just checked... no its not that - lights on warning tone comes from behind the dashboard.
  7. The small sensors left/right of the lights are for the alarm.
  8. I think this confirms what we knew already :) http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/58514 ... _2005.html
  9. Do you have any desire at all towards the Mk2 :?: Are you unhappy with your Mk1.5 :?: Or do you just want a list of Pros and Cons :?:
  10. The only way to choose your new Focus is to check out the Ford website "Car Configurator" http://www.ford.co.uk/ie/foc_c307/-/- because lower spec models have limited option choices and ultimately it's how deep your pockets
  11. Did they give an example of what is non-dealer fixable? because to me everything is "dealer fixable" ...ranging from a fuse to a new bodyshell its just time and money. BTW is the broker named as the first owner of the car? I don't know if that would have any relivance on the case or not. Good Luck!
  12. Normally there is just a single beep to confirm reverse gear is engaged and the system is actived. This was a continuos beep, beep, beep and the sensor system was non operational. I confirmed this by turning the ignition on but not starting the engine, selecting reverse gear and then I got out and walked round the back...it continued to beep. I had resigned myself to phoning the dealer to report the fault, when the idea of putting it in TEST mode occured. Tried it again after that and low and behold it's working perfectly again. Probably pure co-incidence but it worked :) It may be a cl
  13. Today whilst reversing out of the garage it did not give it's usual warning tone but made a constant regular pulsed tone. This continued out onto the drive when normally it would have stopped. Reversed into the road no obstructions and still making the same continuous pulsing tone. Put it into TEST mode did all the checks - no error codes. Tried reverse again and now it's working perfectly. Could this have been just a glitch or could this be my first fault developing. Any thoughts anyone :?:
  14. I've not tried this in my Sony MP3 yet but would an "ordinary" CD continue playing from when it was last stopped.
  15. I think I'm right in saying TC is now only avialable as part of ESP and because I do not drive on the limit its never kicked in. I dare say if you tried to burn rubber from a standing start it would not let you.
  16. Sorry! I'm new to SAT NAV hardware only had my MIO 168 for 2 days now. It has built in antenna http://www.mio-tech.com/products/gps/168/default.asp
  17. How do you see the display through plastic :?:
  18. Thought about that but it's one of those places where the sun don't shine and Sat Nav needs to see the sky
  19. Cars from www.drivethedeal.com are not pre-registered, main dealer supplied and transporter delivered :D
  20. Try www.drivethedeal.com The discount on my Ghia is now more than I got in January making it £400 cheaper than I paid despite a price increase in April :(
  21. Just discovered another use for the facia top stowage box lid...its also a giant bulldog clip for holding paper notes. Has anyone else come up with any other novel adaptations :?:
  22. Might be worth checking if it stays on after the interior light "times out" and as you say it will heat up and it's also draining your battery.
