  1. My Car does face west (well almost) and YES - it does get misted up... Perhaps there is something to this.... Anyone?
  2. Will get the missus to nip to ASDA... Can I use the ASDA cheapo brand, or would you recommend the real deal?
  3. Erm... I have the first one and it's a rubbery plastic type of mat with contoured edges to fit the boot perfectly. The second from the look of it, is a mini paddling pool type of container that fits the boot perfectly, but has high sides that reach the loading level from the look of the picture... Nowt wrong with the cheaper one, especially if things are always sliding about in the boot... I bought a few stacker boxes (plastic bins) and they work well in the boot for the bits an pieces you're supposed to carry around for emergencies... my first aid kit cam in handy the other day whrn my da
  4. Mine seems to have a life of it's own and i am constantly turning it OFF! I would however recommend that you run the AC perhaps once or twice a week for 5 minutes, just to keep everything in check and stop the AC smelling in the summer. Medium should be OK, however I don't think the AC actually works in LOW temperatures... so try to do it when the outside temp is above 5 deg C.
  5. Erm... I should be able to - It all looked OK to me. I'm at work (or supposed to be :) right now) so I'll check later. Gav
  6. Got it just 20 mins ago - It works a treat... my red plastic box of bits (deicer, medikit etc) didn't move anywhere, despite me taking corners like a maniac. The feel of the mat was a little plastic for my liking but it does the job. Gav
  7. I know exactly why you need it! Last summer I bought my C-Max and gave my Focus Zetec (with heated windscreen) to my wife... just the other day it took her 2 minutes to get out and about, whereas I had to wait a FULL 10 (yes ten!) minutes. This'll be an interesting thread, but I think a costly one as a button will need to be installed on the dash (near the rear one). Gav
  8. Depends where your car is from. If it's from outside the UK, I think it only has 2 years (or is that 1), and from within the UK it will defo have 3 years. Gav
  9. The part number was incorrect for that first boot liner... I have just been on the telephone and they said the correct number is 1302330 and the price should be £35.70 inclusive of VAT. All ford parts are 7 chars long...or so he said... ordered at 17:10, but will have for me at 08:30 next day.... yay. Gav
  10. I thought I'd start a new thread for this as it might be useful for owners who are unsure as to whether thier C-Max is giving a realistic MPG... Moondust has to take some credit as he suggested this in another thread. Please feel free to suggest ammendments to the test. Test 1 (ref 211204) Requirements : A motorway which has a sufficient stretch of flat road for you to drive on... A good test would last for around 5 minutes and be on a straight section of motorway. Feel free to suggest areas that are suitable. A C-Max that is preferably unloaded with just yourself as the only person i
  11. I've got a 1.8 Petrol, but will do a steady 70mph test for around 5 mins on a flatish bit of Mway to get an average reading... I'll be sure to reset the counter once I've been at 70 for a minute or so, just to keep it real. Just gotaa find the time! Gav
  12. The way I look at the fuel consumption thingie is this... Either the car is wasting fuel in which it DOES need to be sorted... OR The car is using more fuel - hence better performance. When I had my focus, they messed with something at the Ford dealers and I lost some mpg, but the response from the engine was better. If you can afford the fuel, and the performance feels better then I say Live and let live.... otherwise consider the update to the ECM, but beware if there have been no other problems with your current version.. New software can = new problems.
  13. I NEVER get better than 30mpg... Then again - I never get any less. I've experimented with it and over a typical week... eg EVERY week, I always end up around 29.9mpg. There are some trips that I get about 35ish, and others around that. I drive quite fast compared to other people (don't want to say how fast but I wouldn't quite lose my license if you know what I mean). Most of my trips are around 5 miles to work, and back of course. I'd love to get a higher mpg, but my only chance is when I'm going downhill on the Mway and I reset the clock... I have no problems getting 99.9 then!!! Oo
  14. I'm quite content with my 2003 Focus and my C-MAX....
  15. Makes me even more upset that both garages that my car has been taken to in the past month have said they have updated the ECU but have not. 040D i think mine is. 1.8 Zetec petrol.
  16. Erm... No there's no problem common to all these blades. I'd take it in to the Dealer and tell them that this is unacceptable and politely ask them to replace it. Gav
  17. An Update: I picked up my Galaxy side repeaters yesterday and read about needing to heat up the plastic in order to get the bulbholder into the new crystal repeater... It was a cold night and no matter how much I heated the plastic with a hairdryer it just wasn't doing the dob.... BUT... HERE's HOW TO FIT GALAXY SIDE REPEATERS TO A C-MAX ====================================== I used the butt of a knife/fork/spoon and moved (turned) it around a little bit to expand the plastic..... it took no time at all to stretch the plastic and then it simply enabled the bulb & holder to slide insi
  18. Direct Line are the business... or so it seems in my other halfs case... reported the accident before noon... got a call from the repair shop booking it in for the next day... will collect etc... WOW! And they were dirt cheep.
  19. New customer discount...? Does that mean it increases once you renew??? Honestly...
  20. I was wondering past the wipers section at Halfords yesterday and slowed down to have a gander at them.... an assistant jumps on me and asks "Which car are they for?" - A little forward in thinking I wanted to buy some, but I humoured her and said "Ford Focus C-Max".... she then quickly went straight to the ones and passed them to me... "Ford Focus and Ford Focus C-Max... they'll do both." Confidently said. I looked at the packaging knowing that the C-Max were NOT the same as the focus and that they were those Bosch AeroTwin.... "These can't be the ones as mine have no metal supports... I thin
  21. Erm, I have a 1.6 Focus Zetec and a 1.8 C-Max Zetec and find the C-Max quieter on all levels.... Perhaps it's just one of those things???"!?
  22. How do you exit the 'test' mode? I don't want to try it and have to wait a year for it to exit...
  23. What about a piece of mains electrical cable?? I haven't really noticed the wind noise from that point but then again, perhaps I am not as fussy about it... I just don't know. I was thinking that the mains cable would look to be the right thickness, and perhaps more durable...??? If anyone can find a solution that can be bought off the shelf that is the right thickness then we're well away! Gav I was thinking about Black electrical cable by the way... the type you'd use on an extension lead.. the rounded three core (brown, blue and earth)
