  1. Forget the 50 profile and go with the 215/45/ZR17. They are only slighter lower on the profile.
  2. I am one of those who is always thinking of ways to make my car more distinctive, and as such was wondering if this is a viable option. While at my local Ford dealership the other week, I noticed that the Fiesta ST has a rather nice looking silver bezel around the front fog (photo attached below). Do you think that this would fit the C-Max, as I thought it might brighten up the rather bland looking fog/grille detail. Not sure if the shape on the C-Max lends itself to such a modification. What do you think ?
  3. I take it that he fairly close to where you are? To put your mind at rest over the cost, I have tried to better the price by Leigh Tyres, but there is no one that comes even close. Sounds a bit naff I know, but the Toyo's even have an attractive tread pattern. Christ! how sad am I. I could do with getting out more. Anyway, good luck !
  4. Exactly, that's why I just need some background info from you experienced bods before I speak to Mr.Ford. As mentioned at the start of this topic, there are three outstanding actions. I just hoped that one of them meant the software update that would improve the fuel economy.
  5. When I last looked, my trip said 32.5mpg. See what I mean !
  6. Sorry to bang on about the same thing, but was wondering if there was someone out there that can answer the above question. IE. Will the ECU software be updated as I have seen mentioned on other posts. In other words, will my fuel economy improve - Cos it is not exactly great at the moment !
  7. Sounds like a great deal. Enjoy the car. I am sure you will not be dissapointed! The 2.0 litre TDCi is a real flying machine.
  8. Must admit, when cleaning my car this evening, there was considerably more brake dust on the rear alloys than on the front. I know from past experience, that this is not normally the case.
  9. I have used Toyo T1-S tyres on my last two cars, which was a Peugeot 307XSi and an Audi A2 sport. The grip in both wet and dry conditions was superb. Also the wear was minimal. The tread lasted very well. I purchased the tyres from a company in Essex called Leigh Tyres. They sell via the internet and also Ebay. Delivery was within 48hours and my local tyre fitter charged £6.50 per tyre to fit and balance. I think the tyres from memory were around £280 for the four delivered, which I thought was great value. This price was based on 205/40/ZR17. If I was to fit a set to my C-Max, I would go with
  10. For this area (Blackpool) that price of £200 for rear window tinting is about average. I have a mate who as well as doing auto graphix, seems to now spend most of his time tinting. You would be surprised how many still illegally tint the front windows. The police around here dont seem to do a thing to stop it. By law, all my mate has to do is point out that it is not 'street legal'. Even dealers have brand new cars fully tinted if that's what the owner has requested. Sod the consequences!
  11. They dont look to bad for standard mats. Difficult to see on the photo, but do they have a built-up heel pad on the drivers side? If I was interested, how much would you take for them?
  12. When you say 'sides' what are you actually refering to. Is this the velour carpet boot mat or the rubber boot lining ?
  13. Is it a 'Re-Map' though, that will actually improve fuel economy. Or is just to stop the dash warning?
  14. Was wondering if anyone out there had the posh looking boot mat for sale which I believe came as part of the 'Traveller Pack'. From memory, the one I have seen was in a velour finish and looked the dogs danglies. Finished the boot area off very nicely! I just missed out on one the other night on Ebay. Gutted really, cos it went fairly cheap. I would also be very interested in the genuine Ford velour internal mats. Not sure the new price for these, but a neat second hand set in black would be considered.
  15. Having now looked at the OASIS report, it is noted as the following : NUMBER : 4U922 DIESEL CALIBRATION NUMBER : 4C959 C-MAX ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE NUMBER : 5C002 REAR WIPER MOTOR WATER INGRESS Is the first one just a software update for the ECU or something completely different ?
  16. Let me have a long think about that......................Sorry, the answers NO !
  17. Is it just me, or are these wheels a real pain in the posterior to clean. Any tips ?
  18. I wonder if you guy's can help. When I purchased my '04' car, there was three outstanding items that needed sorting by Ford. The last owner had not had chance to sort and as such, it is now down to me. I rang the original dealer who faxed me the OASIS details. The first thing is the recall re. the rear wiper which I know all about so no help needed there. The second one is down as "DIESEL CALIBRATION". Could you let me know what this is all about. I was hoping that this might be the ECU upgraded software that I have read about elsewhere on this forum. Nice to think that I will get better fuel
  19. Was it Roger that you dealt with at Matlock ? I must admit that I was impressed with their level of service, even though I did not purchase from them in the end. They do have a very good reputation. If you see Roger by the way, will you give him my regards (Scott Fairbrother). I was looking at buying the Honour Green one that I mentioned above. Enjoy your purchase. Sounds nice ! I have the privacy glass which to be honest I was never that bothered about, but now that I have it, I think it's great.
  20. I saw these as well. There was a very nice one in Honour Green for £11,995 with Camel leather.
  21. Moondust, Which colour did you go for on the Ghia and what leather ? And just to be really nosey, which toy's are you refering to. And may we see a picture adding to the other recent post on owners cars?
  22. Any of them any good though. Would prefer advice from someone that maybe has tried them. Have had after-market ones in the past that after a couple of months look terrible.
  23. Have any of you chap's (must not forget the ladies!) any recommendations with regards to internal mats. My Ghia came with dealer branded after-market ones which look a little naff. Especially as they are perimeter stiched in blue which definately does not go with my interior. Are the Ford ones the better option? If so, which type and any rough idea's as to how much? If anyone has a set to sell, then I would be interested.
  24. Doesn't look like this post has had any additions for a while, so thought this may set things off again. Let me introduce you to our new addition to the family :
  25. After driving the 2.0 litre, god knows what made me consider the 1.6. Sorry to hear that you lost out on this car Moondust. Hadn't realised that anyone had bid. I was desperate though and did offer a very good price, which probably would have tempted anyone to pull the advert. The electric seat is great by the way, although I haven't had much chance to have a play. Probably will sit in it for a couple of hours at the weekend to see what everything does. Certainly glad that I went with the leather interior. It looks and smells great! Looking forward to trying the heated seats when the weather t
