  1. Hi Focez, Yes as soon as I can order one I will. The fuel economy will be much better than my current Mk2 2.0 petrol auto. I just wish Ford would hurry up and open the order books!! Pete
  2. Thanks for that AFApe. Do you know from when you can order one?. I tired another Ford dealer today, who this time knew about Powershift, but says it is not yet available to order?. I know the Powershift costs more and has a higher tax band, but i suffered a spinal cord injury a few years ago when I broke my back and neck. I eventually got full use of my right leg back, but have very little control of my left leg, hence I need an auto/semi auto. Pete
  3. Hi Mike, Thanks fr that. I am not really too fussed about the 18 inch alloys, I would rather just have the sports suspension fitted by itself and use my money on differant options (such as the tyre pressure warnings, cat 1 alarm and the 240 volt socket). I think I will stick at Zetec level trim, providing of course that the Powershift DSG is available at that trim level. Pete
  4. Hi, I went into my local branch of Polar today to enquire when the M2.5 with the Powershift DSG Semi-Auto gearbox will be available to test drive and order. In short they has no idea (I had to explain to the salesman what the Powershift gearbox was!). Has anyone any idea when it will be coming onto the market?. Also, I believe the Powershift is being coupled to the 2.0 TDCI diesel (which hopefully will be more economical than my current Mk2 2.0 Petrol conventional automatic), however does anyone know if it will be available with the petrol duratec? Finally, I would really like a Zete
  5. Hi Jamz, Yes, I think I will have to put up with the click, click, click noise from now!!! Pete
  6. It is interesting that whizzpopper advise drivers to apply the handbrake without pressing the release button. When I learnt to drive (quite a few years ago I admit), I was advised to press the release button when applying the handbrake, both to avoid the 'click, click, click' noise but moreso to prevent wear on the ratchet mechanism. Pete You do realise the focus is the same dont you... page 140 in the owners manaul says: "Do NOT press the release button while pulling the lever up" Hi Jamz, Page 140 of my owners manual (2005 issue) relates to powerpoints, cup holders and armrest

  8. Hi, My 2005 Mk2 Zetec Climate has the low screeen wash bottle alert. However, I believe it was deleted on later models, unless they had the Xenon headlights option with headlamp washers fitted. Pete
  9. Hi, You access it from the menu via the button on the indicator stalk. It is fitted to Mk2 Foci that have the Electro-Hydraulic steering (as opposed to normal hydraulic) which are basically the 1.8 and 2.0 petrols and the diesels. You also need to have the LCD display (message centre as Ford call it) as well, Pete
  10. Hi YP, Yes, it is much lighter in Comfort when parking. My other half prefers it in comfort mode so she doesnt build up huge arm muscles when parking! Pete
  11. Hi YP, Although I usually leave mine set on Sport, there is a noticeable difference between the settings, more noticeable at low speed (try reverse parking on the different settings!) I find the sport setting does give most feedback through the steering wheel. Pete
  12. Hi Rocky, You have a pm to anyone else - sorry it has been claimed!!!! Pete
  13. Hi, As I am thinking of getting a new Mk2.5 Focus, I have just been sorting out the paperwork for my current 2005 Mk2 Focus. I have discovered that somehow I have two Ford Audo Guides (instruction books) that relate to the Ford CD6000 \ CD6006 and Sony CD/Radio's (the older squarer one as fitted to the Mk2 Focus from 2005 to 2007ish - with the green LCD display). If anyone didn't get one, or has lost it, drop me a PM and i will post my spare copy to you free of charge. Pete
  14. Hi, That seems normal. The water in the expansion tank will get hot in use and will then cool down causing the condensation. Nothing to worry about. Both my current Mk2 and my previous cars all did this. Pete
  15. If you mean the 'hole' the dealer plugs the laptop into, then if you have a look below the light switch, there is a cubby hole. The port hole is in the 'roof' of this cubby hole. Pete
  16. Hi, Having read parts of this forum relating to the Mk1 and Mk1.5 Focus, it seems on these earlier models that the cambelt tensioner can fail well before the 100k mark. The failure of the tensioner seems to cause much the same damage as failure of the actual belt itself. Although Ford guarantee the belt for 100k miles, they do not guarantee the tensioner!. I would err on the side of caution and get the belt and tensioner (if there is one on the Mk2) changed well before 100k, probably at about 60 or 70k if mine had a belt (and if I was going to keep the car that long!). Pete
  17. Hi again, Re the location of the Pollen Filter, just found this thread: http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... ght=pollen Confirms my footwell theory (well nearly anyway). Pete
  18. Hi, I could be wrong, but I seem to recall when my car was last in for a service, that the dealer mentioned that the Pollen Filter on the Mk2 was down somewhere behind one of the panels in the footwell area (cannot remember which side). He did say they were a bu&&er to change. Pete
  19. I am sure I read somewhere (Honest John site perhaps) that all the Duratec petrol engines, apart from the 1.6 TiVCT (115ps) are chain driven. The TiVCT and Diesels being belt driven, although I seem to recall the diesels were belt and chain driven if that is possible? Pete
  20. Hi, I am pretty sure it is a firm called Visteon that make the CD/Radio's for Ford. As to whether there are any 'extra' features, I haven't a clue. Their website is here: http://www.visteon.com/europe/uk/index.shtml Pete
  21. Hi, I have the same issue with 'mismatch' tyre pressure between the handbook and the sticker inside the door. Just after I got the car new, way back in 2005, I rang Ford about it. They said for my 2.0 Zetec Climate Auto, the presures should be 31 at the front and 34 at the rear (as per the handbook). Hence, I have stuck with these since. The original front tyres lasted 26k miles and the original rears still have 4mm of tread so I am pretty sure they are the correct pressures for my Focus. Pete
  22. If you hang on until about March 08, the new shaped Focus (Mk 2.5) should be available with the new twin clutch DSG Powershift semi-auto gearbox, which gives the economy of a manual with the convenience of an auto or semi-auto (ie clutchless control which can be driven on an auto licence according to both Ford and the DVLA) It is being launched mated to the 2.0 TDCI so should be a cracker. I think it will be tremendous and cannot wait to have a go in one and possibly order one. Pete
  23. My 2005 (55 Reg) Zetec Climate Auto only gives the average reading. I have tinkered about with the settings menu etc and cannot find an instant reading anywhere. Pete
  24. Hi, I think the DSG Powershift box is being launched in or about March 08 (according to Ford when i rang them up in December about it). Pete
