  1. A question for Mr Nuts, why are you putting seat covers on? I'm sure its because the seats are damaged/worn but I'm interested to know why. I had a seat recovered professionally 2 years ago and that cost me £110 which I thought was pretty good for a pucker job.
  2. Turkeys are underestimated creatures, we have one as Prime Minister.
  3. So , like a Turkish massage then..
  4. Thats true. Scotty is the only person the Samariatns hang up on. He was once trapped in a lift with 5 dead bodies for 36 hours. Watching 5 people commit sucide with nothing more than a stapler and yesterdays Guardian must have been tough on him. But it was their choice and I'm sure he had nothing to do with it
  5. Oh yus, I tend to put mine in one of those roof "coffins" when I'm driving. It avoids poking pedestrians in the eye as I drive by. I always wondered what those slots were for. I used to put my toast in there of a morning
  6. My ex 2.0 TDCi Zetec gets an 8. Poor mpg the only problem but at 45-47 average a lot better than most but not good for a car that was on the motorway a lot. Should be doing mid 50s. Rest of the package was brilliant (but yes better seat material would have been nice)
  7. I don't think the numberplate is legal....
  8. True. But neither did the Tory government of the 80's and 90's. Trouble is Blue thats the excuse labour trot out. Blaming someone else. Doesn't excuse their utter lack of direction after saying many many times they had one. The Tories did so have a transport policy, in hindsight it was just the wrong one. I wasn't making a political point anyway. But you're right, its not a vote winner but I think it could be if positioned right. This country will ground to a halt soon but the problem with spending billions on a transport policy, like the French have, in the UK would be the added loss of t
  9. I agree. When I picked up my Highline Passat I sat in phaeton. Just fantastic and if I won loads of money I would buy one rather than have someone run a key down the side of my DB9 or whatever.
  10. I don't mind. I WAS that kid at school. No cars in that tax free bracket? Classic New Labour spin. Thats not even a political point , its a fact. Just like we've been promised 15000 new policemen each year since 1997 and all the other repeated promises that never actually happen. Sounds good though. If they were serious about pollution why have thye (and the EU) stopped subsidies on LPG conversions? Why don't they reduce tax on diesel? Why aren't all buses, who are the biggest polluters, converted? Why don't we have free park and ride schemes all year round? Why don't they ban any new car
  11. I feel like that kid at school, never gets into fights but starts loads.
  12. mind you Scotty's offered to cobble my street for free, first choice of his Whippets litter and flat caps for life,
  13. You're not taking this very seriously are you?
  14. If you loan me £1million I'll make you a Dame when I'm elected
  15. I read, I observe then pounce like a snow leopard on a 3 legged deer. Actually I find the whole non income tax regime a joke. Especially cars for the reasons people are saying. Put VAT up to 25% on everything and be done with car tax, council tax etc etc Mind you the tree hugging lobby feels it gives the Gov control over our miles. Which is rubbish as its all about raising revenue for good causes like the Millenium Dome and His Toniness's retirement villa in Tuscany. Mind you I say flog those that drive drunk, have no insurance or MOT and are ginger or Northern. Quite a comprehensive app
  16. "Talking of old ones ......... here he is !" You wouldn't say that if I didn't have stabilisers on my Zimmer frame!
  17. 20p? Isn't that the average yearly salary up North ?
  18. Mastertech prepares the heater for the brake fluid boiling test
  19. You said something about seeing "it" in the flesh........
  20. me too! As long as it comes with those wheels
  21. Don't do it on a hill with the handbrake off I can't imagine its that difficult they look standard. Reckon a Haynes manual will spill the beans
