  1. Agree with others here that you change gear when ever YOU feel like it or the road conditions dictate. What I will say however is that the engines fantastic torque means you don't always have to go after the red line to hustle the car along. 5K still flings you down the road with gusto! Enjoy the car matey.
  2. I had a HKS dump valve on my Nissan 200SX. It sounded awesome but the car never felt completely happy with it on. I think the ST would sound great with one fitted but I value my waranty too much to fit one. For the sake of not having a PSCHHT noise on every gear change at least I know my engine will hang together.
  3. I've had the Ford system demonstrated to me on the track in a ST3 and it proved to be an amazing system. If you properly play with it, keep the power on and keep your lock wound on, you can drive the thing like an arcade machine. You can however always press the off switch, but in the real world for the majority of the time its essential on a powerfull front driver. Think of the way a canoe (spelling) turns by sticking an oar in. Same goes with pivoting the car with individual wheels to combat under/oversteer. Obviously the laws of physics can only be stretched so far but I wouldn't have a S
  4. The st1 isn't but the 2 and 3 are. I'm getting my ST3 on the scheme. :)
  5. I'd be interested in this too. Also, which bright white bulbs would go in the front fog lights? I've been looking at the front of our demo ST recently and I'm not overly keen on the mixture of the two light sources, one yellow one white. :)
  6. I'd say that it's mainly a gimic and that it comes on all ST models. I personally like it as I do some driving on a stretch of road with no street lighting and it does give some atmosphere to the car. I do love gadjets and toys of all kinds though :D
  7. ESP is fantastic and after having it demo'd to me on a track I wouldn't want a car without it. You can however always turn it off if you want some tyre burning fun. The understeer and oversteer control aspects are the best parts of the system (other than pure traction control). Think of a canoe dragging an oar in the water to pivot itself round. The Focus does something similar to this by independantly braking single rear wheels to combat under steer and it does the same to the fronts to control oversteer. Obviously the laws of physics will only allow it to catch so much, but if you're tired
  8. As a future owner of a ST3 (3 months and counting) I personally wouldn't want a TDST to be in the models line up as it would dilute the line. They never built a RS Turbo diesel after all. Performance TDCIs are great cars, I love the Mondeo STDCI, but I think doing this to the ST Focus would just be wrong. A stronger engine in the Titanium however would be really nice. My boss has a 2.0 tdci 3 door with smoked 18s, sports suspension and loads of other toys and it rocks. Really nice combination of pace, toys and comfort. :)
  9. The new whizzpopper grenade! Here darling, feel the power of my.................BOOOOOM!!! 2.0 seems a bit small to be throwing out that much power. Reminds me of the old Renault 5 GTTs
  10. Cars often get delivered with 30 - 40 miles on the clock simply due to transportation to the supplying garage, PDI road tests and taking the car to be filled with the correct amount of delivery fuel. I don't know of any of our drivers screwing the cars, they value their jobs too much. Now 200 miles, that would be taking the * * * * I can't remember what the legal definition states about the max mileage that can be on a NEW car but I think its near the 200 mark. However, that would only be understandable if it had been transported by road to its garage.
  11. No, we've got cars en-route so we've cars available for Jan..........at the moment anyway. I've got the list on my desk and it seems we have a good spread of colours and specs. :D
  12. The same as every other dealer price wise but I could be persuaded to throw in the Electric Orange for free! :D
  13. Not true, i can sell you a car to register jan 10th. We have four in stock and ready to go. No idea where that came from. :D
  14. Eddie, the ST is rated by Glasses as having a higher future value than the Golf. The standard GTI is 500 more expensive than a Nicely loaded ST3. The GTI is only a 2 litre and........I can't be arsed saying the same things over and over about the Golf. Everybody has their own opinion and I'm sure you can choose to drive an old 2.0 Zetec out of choice, but please A, read the motoring presses opinion why the ST is worth every penny and B, stop repeating your opinions about the car. I have the money and I have thought about STi Imprezas, Evos and other drivers cars. The fact you rated t
  15. Get in touch with me matey and you could have one in January. :D I work at Polar Ford in Wilmslow. Bit of a trek though  Seriously though, we've ordered a load and they should be turning up from January onwards in various specs and colours. I would expect other dealers have done the same. However if you fancy a trip to the Northwest I'd hook you up with pleasure. Call Simon on 01625 257777 if you want more help. P.S, ask the dealer why the whizzpoppers are delayed, bet he won't mention the rumour about engines going BANG!
  16. Well if you can afford 17.5 to 19.5 grand why would you feel the need to buy a used car. You can't put a price on the feeling of being the first owner of a car and looking down to see something like 7 miles on the clock. I know when my car turns up I'm gonna be buzzing for weeks. Also this argument of you could buy this or that is crap. You could buy a 1970s roller, a Jad XJ6 and an Austin princess for the price of a ST but why the hell would you do that? You could also go on Holiday for a year  And if the Focus is just a Focus then the S3 is just a VW golf in a fancy suit and the
  17. Ordered mine a few days ago. I have a dealer order number but no chasis details or ETA to dealer yet. I have however asked for the car for March delivery. Not sure if that will effect the build date. It's having rear park done at the factory so I guess I'll just keep my eyes on Vista.
  18. Nice one. I work for Ford too. St3 on order
  19. Wouldn't it just be your local Ford garages parts dept? They are dead new though so they may not be available yet.
  20. You can sell em, didn't think they could be reg'd before 10th though. Hmmm. Guess if they've got their allocation of cars through already they could be flogging them. Selling a demo seems a bit daft as their bound to need one for demos unless the manager has one too or something. God knows whats going on with garages at the mo.
  21. Spec: ST3 Doors: 3 Exterior: Electric Orange Interior: Leather Extras: Park assist, sports mats, about ten paint treatments and scotch guard :D Delivery Date: March, as that's when I get my priv voucher. Ford Main Dealer: Yes (Atlantic Ford Wilmslow, I work there). Privilege: Yes Company Car: No
  22. Not true, we'll be delivering cars in Jan if they turn up from ford in time. Don't think domestic cars can be registered before Jan 10th 06 I think. We've a ST2 at my garage and it's just fantastic. I think I enjoy watching peoples amazed faces after a test drive more than I enjoy driving it myself. Awesome cars :D
  23. Yesterday morning I finally bit the bullet, went into my managers office and ordered my ST3 in Orange for March delivery. Got my print out and retired to my sales desk. Halfway there something caught my eye..........an Electric Orange ST2 just waiting to be driven. In all honesty I nearly filled my pants with shock of seeing a car just like the one I'd ordered turning up out of the blue! I went outside and F me it's a bright shade of orange! It looks fantastic though :D I jumped in and savoured the fantastic comfy Recaros, started the engine and heard the burbly, poppy engine. WOW! I got th
  24. I can vouch for the exhaust noise. Had a good drive yesterday and it pops bangs and farts like a good un! Really nice drive, loads of torque and very quick. The smoothness of the engines hides the speed but when you look down, ooops! I'll post up a good review this weekend after I've had a longer drive of the car today. :D
