  1. Right thanks, I thought they may have been those lights that point into the bend as you turn the steering wheel or something. I don't think the visibility pack is that much of an interest to me in that case. Sometimes I feel you can have too many computers doing too many things for you so that when you get in a different car that doesn't have those features (which I do quite often) you may forget to do them yourself.
  2. I still can't get a straight answer as to what "auto lights" do??? Keyless entry sounds nice. Might add that to my order!
  3. Yes they can! That's the whole point we're trying to make! You can advertise anything you like so long as you have a legal disclaimer saying that the product may differ from the one advertised - you see that term used on loads of adverts all the time. You can only claim false advertising if you can prove that there was never any intention to fit these options to the ST and I guarantee that at some point Ford did intend to fit them, but then changed their mind. They are totally within their rights to do this and there's nothing you can do to force them to fit the "missing" options. The bes
  4. But doesn't the normal air con not have "climate control" ie, you turn it on and it just blows hot or cold dry air, but otherwise works just like a normal heater? I've got used to proper climate control in my old car, so I think I'd miss it...
  5. Does DEATC basically mean that either side of the cabin can be experiencing different climate settings? Ie the driver can be kept cool while the passenger can be kept warm? I've ordered DEATC, but I've no idea what it's for! LOL!
  6. The brochures will undoubtedly be covered by EE&O (Errors, Exclusions and Omissions law) and on the back it says that you should always check with your dealer for confirmation of the specifications and equipment as the brochure was correct at the time of going to print, however Ford reserve the right to change the specs and equipment without notice etc etc. You won't be able to sue anyone for anything from this point of view...
  7. As I recall it was a soaking wet track when Top Gear tested it...
  8. Yeah, this worries me too. I've told my broker that if the car arrives with mismatched paint I WILL be rejecting it...
  9. Looks a good colour to me, grey and white always go well together. But how much is it???
  10. Good write up. :) The only thing I tend to disagree with slightly are when you say the ST has no road presence, I think it does personally. It has the kind of looks that WOULD catch my eye, but then I prefer subtly styled performance hatches rather than the outspoken garish ones, that's why I chose my current SEAT Leon Cupra R, it looks sporty, but it doesn't shout BOYRACER! which I tend to think the RS does a bit. Besides, a nice front splitter should sort out the front of the ST, and maybe some different alloys one day. Oh, also I'm a bit scepticle that Ford will ever produce a MkII RS
  11. I love the front splitter on that white ST above. How much does it cost and is it easily fittable? I've always thought the ST needs a splitter!
  12. Most of the ST3's I've seen ordered have included DEATC and mats. Most of us would like 12 months road fund licence too...
  13. The VXR certainly looks very nice. The only bit I don't like is the single centre exit exhaust. Those pictures are a bit strange actually, it must be an optical illusion, but the ST's alloys look tiny compared to the VXR's, but there's only an inch of difference. Those plastic fog lamp surrounds on the ST need to go. I wonder if there'll be a replacement mesh version that you can buy eventually?
  14. Well I'm sorry, but IMHO tartan seats look awful and belong in the past. They remind me of old people :? . ! This is just my opinion. I didn't say you weren't allowed to like the Golf... I just think that for the silly money the GTi costs it could have been a lot more funky looking than it is. I do like hot hatches (but not as much as sports cars ;) ). The ST has the edge on looks IMHO. Though even the ST needs some bigger air dams on the front to make it look more aggressive.
  15. Can't stand the Golf personally. Dull Dull Dull.... ( and it has old fashioned TARTAN seats! WTF??? )
  16. I think we've established that the ST-3 does not have electrically adjustable leather seats after all haven't we? Just manual ones.

  19. Okay, so I've already ordered my ST3, but I just wanted to know from the experts exactly what having a Bluetooth or Advanced Bluetooth option fitted to my car would do for me (if anything). I'm not really much of a gadget man, which is odd considering I work in I.T. and I love PC's, but I find gadgets to be cluttersome and unsightly. I only use my mobile phone for "phoning" people and use a normal hands free kit if I'm driving. I have a TomTom Go for sat nav too, but that's the extent of my in-car gadgetry. So, what do the Bluetooth kits actually do for you? Would they be of much use to
  20. I don't know what size Turbo it is, my LCR has a big K04s unit and VAG engines never blow up. Ever. :D
  21. It's got a lot to do with the "strength" of the parts inside the engine. If the pistons and con rods are uprated sufficiently then there won't be a problem. I don't know the reason why the VXR has been reported to blow up easily, but lets put it in to perspective. My LCR has just a 1.8 litre 20v Turbo engine, yet it pumps out 265bhp extremely reliably due to VAG uprating the con rods etc in the engine so that it could handle the increased stress. Mitsubishi Evo's have 2.0 litre engines and look at the power they output! I think it's likely to be a design fault or more likely a bad batch o
  22. I have and it was quite cool really. It was on the VXR Racing stand at one of this years BTCC races (I usually go to support SEAT). I had a good look round and to be honest I'm sure it's a great car, it's only the Top Gear comments about its handling that have put me off.
  23. S1 standard Elise in ruby red with cream leather. No hot rod 111R or anything, but it's good enough for me and the colour is gorgeous. Has a Hurricane induction kit, cat bypass pipe, Janspeed sports exhaust, uprated suspension (lowered), braided hoses, uprated gear linkage, uprated clutch trunion, rear Exige style diffuser, the list goes on... :)
