  1. I don't own an Ipod, I suppose that's something else I'll have to buy...
  2. Yeah, I suppose, but I have a 6 disc changer in my LCR and it spends most of its time half filled as a lot of my music is on MP3. I have a Sony MP3 head unit in my Elise with all may favourite driving tracks on it and it's much more convenient to use.
  3. Hi guys I was just wondering whether the CD-Changer that comes in the new Focus ST-3 was also MP3 compatible, or whether it was just for normal CD's? Does anyone know? Seems a bit of a step backwards to lose the MP3 ability from the ST2 when an MP3 CD can probably hold as many songs as 6 CD's can. cheers Graham
  4. an M3 definitely. Though I suppose if you have the money to chop and change like that then why not experience as many cars as possible! I think he'll miss the fun of rear wheel drive handling though, 4wd is good of course, but there's nothing like rear wheel drive. My other car is a Lotus so between that and my LCR (and forth coming ST) I have the best of both worlds! :D
  5. Yeah, I expect it looks great, but that V6 has so little low-budget tuning potential that I'd just feel like I'd bought a big lump of sparkly metal! I considered the Mk4 R32 when I was buying my Cupra R, but when I actually drove one it felt a bit un-special compared to a car with a turbo, so I decided to save my pennies and go for the cheaper more exciting car. £28k is a LOT of money for a hatchback. I seriously don't understand how VW can justify that. I bet the motoring press don't rate it as highly as the GTi to be honest.
  6. p.s. vinnyd, a Golf for £28k  bejeezus!
  7. I respect your opinion FastEddie (we all have opinions), though I think it's fair to say that the VAST majority of blokes who buy Audi TT's are posers, not drivers. BMW M3 - great car, but who would want a ragged-to-hell old M3? 330Ci is a wannabe M3, Subaru is chavvy (sorry, but it is), Evo is far too expensive to own day to day. I'm buying an ST because it's not a huge departure from my Leon Cupra R which has done too many miles in too short a time and needs to be passed on for someone else to enjoy rather than run in to the ground on the motorway by me. I'll probably sell the ST in 2-3
  8. Ahh, okay, thanks. So the LCR has two SMIC's while the ST has one FMIC?
  9. Just wondered whether it was a single or twin intercooler? My Leon Cupra R has twin intercoolers and 5 valves per cylinder (4 cylinders) and not being a very mechanically minded person I'm not sure what that means in terms of performance? Anybody know? Graham
  10. Hmm, hot hatches in horrible loud colours? I'm not a fan. Save the crazy colours for the super cars, on lesser cars these colours just make the car look silly and make the owner look like they have no taste. IMHO that lime green Lambo looks awful... Just my opinion of course! :D
  11. Nope, that's a Mk4 SEAT Ibiza Cupra. Smaller wheels than the Leon Cupra R, but similar design (although they protrude outwards in the middle unlike the Cupra R's).
  12. Have you ever driven a 700kg rear wheel drive sports car in the snow, or in icy weather? I'd rather be in a 1.2 Corsa in those conditions... :( I'm not kidding either...
  13. One of the guys from the Lotus forums I'm a member of sold his 1999 Elise for £10,000 to a guy from Denmark. He took it back to Denmark and upon registering it and putting Danish plates on the car the Danish Government slapped another £25,000 on to his bill! He must REALLY have wanted an Elise! Perhaps Jesper L can explain how the system works over in Denmark, I don't honestly understand why cars are so expensive there...?
  14. DFM, he means £, believe me cars are mentally expensive in Denmark (worst place to live if you're a petrol head).
  15. My ST is ordered and I expect delivery in March also. I've still got my Leon Cupra R, but it's up for sale and I will sell straight away if I'm offered the right price (but I'm in no rush). When the Leon goes I'll have to drive my Lotus all the time which isn't much fun in the winter...
  16. Good grief Eddie! I wouldn't be seen dead in a TT! I'd rather drive a Lada! The GTi is silly money extra! I won't pay over £20k for a car period... Also, to say the ST is still just a Focus is a bit silly. It's a Focus with a whole pile of extra kit and power! That's the point... I'm paying £17k for my ST3 and I'm perfectly happy. Besides, I can't be doing with a second hand car as I need the warranty given the miles I do.
  17. Yes, but it's repeated on Tuesday night I think...
  18. Don't worry, mine's gonna be blue :D
  19. Does it have a whooshy dump valve? :P ...no seriously... is that a joke on these boards too? It is on the SEAT boards!?!?
  20. My ST3 is now ordered! That's the review I was hoping for. Put my doubts to bed and has made me even more excited about getting it!
  21. Can't have it until mid to late March they told me...
  22. Thanks guys, I think I'll just run screaming blindly off the cliff with limbs flailing everywhere and just accept the slightly worse fuel consumption!
  23. Same as me, except they quoted me £17,049 for the same spec...
  24. blimey, that's quite a lot less than the brochure says for the combined figure :(
