  1. havnt been on here in a while but thought id take the time to pop back and put this. In case the happens in here sometime soon, i thought I would forewarn everyone. A scammer seems to be doing the rounds on car forums offering spares for sale. It looks like a lot of people have been taken for a lot of money http://www.escortevolution.co.uk/forums ... opic=74748 hope that he doesnt arrive here, but if he does, youve been warned! Red maybe the moderators can post this on all the relevent sections???
  2. I dont believe it, he went and did it himself. He reckons its all running fine and braking fine so i can only hope hes right. Thanks anyway guys
  3. Thanks jonjen, Id be inclined to pay a dealer to do it to be honest but boyfriend seems to think he could do it. I just want to give him all the facts before making decision Nicola
  4. My rear brake pads have gone at 30k Now my boyfriend wants to change them himself as he does on his own car but im not sure its an easy job for him and want it done right. We have the EPB on the car. Is there a special tool needed for winding back the calipers? We have access to a peugeot one, does anyone know if that would fit?
  5. adrian flux insurance. £304 with roadside assistance for a 2.0tdci
  6. Hi everyone, can anyone give me some ideas on this problem? Saturday i stopped my cmax (2.0tdci 53 plate) and cut off engine to be able to talk to some people at side of road. 5 mins later i got back into car and started it. It started but it made a hell of a racket, sounded like a tractor on its last legs and the whole car juddered and shook violently. I stopped the engine and tried again, it did exactly the same thing. Just as i was about to give up and call breakdown services i tried and it started fine. This is the 2nd time its happened to me, and my partner told me tonight that
  7. hmmm i wonder if you could list the symptoms of the egr fault and get a replacement that way? I have a 53 plate which had the egr replaced in feb, before the new version came out. So therefore i still have the chance of an egr failure again in the future. I had an average mpg of 42/43 before i had the replacement and now it averages 46/47 so a great improvement in my experience. I do a lot of town driving but on a good motorway run my fuel economy is as good as yours as long as i dont let my boyfriend drive. There is also the old addage, if it aint broke dont fix it. Your egr may never f
  8. amazing how much damage was caused at such a low speed. Hope you can find a way to get him to pay for damage. Someones put 2 dents into mine over the last 48 hours too, gggrrrrrrrrr!
  9. Isnt that the air con running down or something? My 2.0TDCI makes that noise and thats what my partner says.
  10. if anyone would like the Which report 2006 then message me with your email and i will forward.
  11. i dont think they have to be isofix. I certainly havnt got an isofix seat
  12. if ford do have their own range then Id suggest that you still check out the safety reports. There are many seats on the market, shall see if i can find the Which report for you. A lot of the manufacturers websites will also let you see if the seat is suitable for a c-max.
  13. ive not seen ford own seats. what age is the seat for?
  14. Are they really? Cant say my 2.0tdci is slow to get going. Certainly, official figures state a 0.1 second difference between 2.0tdci focus and 2.0tdci c-max
