  1. Yep, they're a bloody nuisance. Even the ones in my Capri can manage it and they're 20 years old and knackered!
  2. I like the orange one and the rally car. The white one's wheels are vile though!
  3. Have you looked in the scrapper's? If you find a car which has had its airbag go off then the steering wheel itself will be unsellable, but you may be able to salvage the bit you need off it.
  4. Seems very wobbly when the badge is hinged open.
  5. My 2500-mile 1.6 Ti-VCT claims around 37mpg on average. Driven carefully and doing lots of steady 70mph motorway runs I can get it to average just over 40. Thrash it and it drops to around 32. Pretty much what I'd expect from this kind of engine. A diesel would have been more economical but I just don't like the way diesels drive/sound!
  6. I'm not entirely sure. It seems to come from where the boot carpet goes up the side of the wheelarch and under the plastic trim :?
  7. Since the weather turned wet and miserable, I've noticed every time I open my boot there is a dribble of water down the boot carpet from below the shelf support on the driver's side of the boot. This seems to be a common fault on the Focus; is there an easy DIY fix, or do I have to mess about dealing with the imbeciles masquerading as "professional mechanics" at a Ford dealer?
  8. You've got almost the exact same car as I have :) only difference is mine has the Sony MP3 stereo too. I agree about the size of the doors, although I should be used to it as the doors on my Capri are nearly as long! I emailed Superchips recently regarding the possibility of a Bluefin for the Ti-VCT engine. This is their reply: So, in a nutshell, don't hold your breath  :|
  9. Yorkie: you must be hammering yours! :P I've now got 150 miles on the clock and I've averaged about 37mpg so far 8)
  10. You're not wrong there! It's sod's law: the day I get a brand-new car, it p*sses it down and the roads are filthy
  11. Nice, eh? :D It's a 1.6 Ti-VCT Zetec, in panther black with the Sony Mp3 stereo. 06-plate and had 60 miles on the clock when I got my hands on it 8) Got it delivered this morning, only downside is that it picked up a stonechip in the windscreen when the delivery bloke was bringing it down the motorway. :? Still, it's getting a new screen at their expense, so nowt to worry about!! First impressions? ... well, firstly, it looks the bog's dollocks! The engine, despite being brand new, pulls much better than the 1.6 307 I've been driving recently, and I haven't even taken it p
  12. Don't forget the 'Turbo' sticker on the back, that adds an extra 50BHP  And neon washer jets. Gives even more power than strapping a scramjet engine to the roof
  13. Alright there KoA? :D Liking the white stripes by the way. Do it, I say 8) (... in case you're still wondering who this is, think FF > red Punto with a blown head gasket... )
  14. I like this thread. :) I've also got a Focus on order with the Sony Mp3 system, and it all sounds very promising :D
  15. Heh, cheers for the replies everyone :) The engine sounds like a good 'un then... 40mpg + on the motorway sounds pretty decent, and on paper at least it should go a bit better than the 1.6 307 hire car that I'm currently using :D Another question has sprung to mind: I've specced the upgreded stereo for the Mp3 capability, but it also includes a speaker upgrade. What's the sound quality like from this setup? I'm hoping it's got a bit more bottom-end thump to it than the standard Cd player, as now and then I listen to drum 'n' bass in the car! Cheers Jonny
  16. I've just put in the order for my new company car. It's a brand-new Focus 1.6 Ti-VCT Zetec climate, 3-door, in Panther black, with the Sony Mp3 8-speaker stereo :D Just wondering what people's experiences of the Ti-VCT have been, particuarly in terms of economy and reliability? And is the performance noticeably better than the regular 98bhp version of the 1.6? The only new Focus i've driven is a 98bhp LX - which was a very pleasant drive - as unfortunately the dealers never seem to have any of the Ti-VCTs in to test drive! I've kind of taken a gamble on the Ti-VCT being worth the
