  1. Does your Sony headunit have firmware 05-03-xx (press 1 & 6 together)? Have you got the correct module (8M5T-19C112-AM)? Did your Dad's Focus Titanium, already have the BT wiring in place (but not used)? Not sure what you mean by "options in voice control menu" When you press the voice button, does it "beep"? When you connect a USB stick (with mp3 music), does it show on the Sony display, but no sound? IDS connection is only required for Voice control enabling. As you will see from my posts above I have just finished retrofitting BT+USB to the wife's 09 Focus Zetec, all wor
  2. That's what this whole thread has been about. Retrofitting BT (and now +USB) to a Focus mk2/mk2.5 that does not have any BT wiring.
  3. I've added write up of how to retrofit BT+USB here :- http://www.ffoc.co.uk/modules.php?name= ... c&t=182822

  5. This write up covers retrofitting BT+USB to a non BT Focus mk2.5. You will need to have either Sony CD/6CD (with firmware 05-03-01 or later) or Blaupunkt NX (touch screen) satnav (with firmware 5.1). This WILL NOT work with the 6000cd. I will describe here, how to modify the Fiesta/Fusion retrofit harness and then list ALL parts needed to retrofit in either armrest or glove box in the next post. The photo below is the finished harness (and bound) shortly before it was fitted to the wife’s 09 plate Focus. The lead with the AB label is the new Aux lead. Parts 1429802 jumper wiring
  6. I know it's probably a silly question, but how is the center light console fitted. I've just got the console for the wife's Focus (cars not here) and I cannot work out how it's retained (more used to Mondeo mk4 where it's held by 2 screws.
  7. Many thanks to Kenny1001. Now sorted and a happy wife.
  8. Just tried to change the outside temp. display to Centigrade on the wife's 09 Zetec, but the only way is to change everything to metric ie km & L, rather than Miles & gallons. Am I missing something or is this another Ford anomoly (same display in my Mondeo mk4 & it shows Centigrade, Miles & gallons).
  9. Does anybody have any experience of the Comms. Pack. ie cd Nav and USB. Just about to pick up the wife's new Focus Zetec (09 plate) and was wondering whether it is worth retrofitting the CD nav unit along with BT/VC+USB, as she would like a built in SatNav rather than the Garmin on top of the dash. Any thoughts/experiences would be apreciated.
  10. Before you start shouting, you should check your facts, there are two different types of mounting for the later Gen 2 Sony unit, one bolts in and is for the Mondeo mk4 and the other still clips in as per Focus mk2 (look on ebay and you will find both there). I checked which one I needed, before I purchased it - Mondeo mk4, and anyway Tezza did one ages ago on a mate of his car without any problems.
  11. I've used the Stickey :how to retro fit Bluetooth, at the top of the page,- but I now need to find a Ford Dealer in surrey, who can flash the GEM for me with the SRM & ACM modules. My local dealer wants 1 hours labour, yet I've seen people on here say it only cost them about £35. Any recomendations would be apreciated. Many Thanks.
  12. How many have done this ? Did you get Voice Control as well ? Which harness did you use - Fiesta or Focus ? Has anybody got a wiring diagram for either of these harness's ? I'm about to try and retrofit BT/VC to my mk4 Mondeo using the sticky at the top of the page, but just wanted to know what other people's experiances were. Many Thanks.
  13. Excellent article, just wondering if a wiring diagram came with the harness - trying to retrofit BT/VC to my Mondeo mk4 - as there are no wiring diagram's for this harness - or the Focus harness - on ETIS. Many Thanks
  14. If your car is the 2005 model ( I am assuming it is ), then yes it can easily be fitted. The model no. is c307 and fits straight into the hole left by the 6000cd that you remove and uses the same wireing. If the Sony unit is new - never fitted in a car - it will need to go on the WDS ( computer ) to be configured , you will also need the stereo that you took out ( down loading of data - so I was told). This will not be the equivalent of the Sony upgrade ( when new ) as better quality speakers are also fitted. Have just done this to the wife's Zetec climate, but was the 6CD version.
  15. Many thanks slateblue had already ordered the panel while radio being done. £40 for WDS - quite happy to pay as radio was not picking up wife's favourite station 105.4 and the clock is now working, means I'll get some peace about her new car. Forgot to ask technician if this could be done on my Mondeo as I hate that analogue clock.
  16. Managed to get the Sony 6CD out, but will need new centre panel ( deliberate action - sacrfice the panel to save the radio ). Went back local dealer with old (6000CD) and new ( Sony 6CD) who then put them both on the WDS now everything works perfectly. There are a lot of VW MFD radio keys on e-bay that are said to suitable for Fords,DO NOT use these keys on Sony 6CD units - they do not push the locks in far enough to release the radio. The correct keys are rounded not tapered.
  17. Been to my local dealers, not only were they not able to fix the clock ( WDS would not accept that a Sony 6cd had been fitted), they could not get the unit out to get part/serial nos. ( the top right lock appears to have broken and cannot be released) So now the wife will either have to do without the clock or I've got a very difficult job in removeing the unit ( will probably end up replaceing the grey centre panel), it took me 3 hours to get my Mondeo Sony 6Cd out - all four keys locked in place but radio would not budge, nor would the keys come out, what a mikey mouse design.
  18. the Sony 6 CD I fitted was new, never fitted in a car. There have been changes to the firmware/software on the Focus ie RDS control of the clock removed and I believe there may be others, hence the need to setup the radio on the WDS. I have a Mondeo Ghia with the Sony 6CD which has worked perfectly over the last 18 months, which is why the wife wanted one when she found out that the autochanger from her Focus mk 1.5 would not work in her 2005 Focus - new autochanger + adapter or Sony 6 CD - and as there is less work involved to change the units, I got her a Sony 6CD ( mind you, it was easy
  19. I've just fitted a Sony 6CD to the wife's Zetec Climate, and there's no clock displayed on the unit, nor "clock" in the menu. Should I have done something other than unplug 6000cd and plug in Sony 6CD, or does this mean I'll have to go to local dealer and get them to put it on the WDS, if the latter any idea how much they're likely to charge?
  20. many thanks tomtom70, hopefully I'll get it fitted by the weekend, and then the wife will chauffer me around, so she can listen to her new stereo.
  21. Is the model no. C307 - C241 CD6 the correct one for the new Focus? Please help me, the wife is driving me crazy, as she had an autochanger in her face lifted Focus, and as my Mondeo has the Sony 6cd she now wants one in her 2005 Focus, but fitted last week.
  22. Does anybody know if you can change the fascia on a Sony 6 cd unit from a Mondeo so it will fit the 2005 Focus? I'm about to put a sat nav unit in my 04 Mondeo and the wife is hoping I can put my Sony 6 cd in her 05 Focus.
