  1. Richard, I really don't know what to say :( Leeds area plus Ford dealerships is not a combo I have faith in from my limited and friends extensive past experiences. In hindsight I now feel i should'nt have bought a Ford but this is of no use to yourself :( Ford Direct are of no use either as they seem to think its the dealers problem as you have entered into a contract with them and not Ford. Hope you don't mind me being nosey - who is the dealer you are dealing with? Just so I know who to avoid 8) I've currently dealt with Benfield in Guiseley - Sales dept' are very greedy on price. Not de
  2. tdBBci - Glad to hear alls turned out well for you after your last one had to go back. I too have had fuel gauge weirdness on my TDCi I think like Craig. Do you have the low fuel warning message come up in your LED display when your start the car up? Mine does this maybe 1 in 4 starts. Also I sometimes get the warning beep but no error :? Does this sound similar to what your seeing? Funny thing is, before the dealer messed about with it it was fine doing everything it should do correctly. Luckily though the fuel level gauge has been ok touch wood :) vitrocmax - Did you get your parking s
  3. I forgot about them! I'll take a look tomorrow. They did not mention them. When they told me about the screen and I went to have a look everything else went out of my train of thoughts. The guy who I collared about the screen was more interested in pointing out how my sorting out the screen will save them the hassle of having to sort my wind noise problem. Rather than argue as I find this stressfull and not in my nature i cut it short and left to mull over later at my leisure. If they have'nt sorted them I think i'll leave them as I have'nt the stomach for fighting the t@ss with work
  4. Hehe, its funny how you can but smile when kids do the swinging their drink about - cute :D I looked in the cupboard and the stuff we have is for wooden furniture so don't fancy trying that as i'll never hear the end of it if things go wrong. My dads just ordered the meguiars Gold Class Leather Cleaner. They do a two part aloe vera conditioner and cleaner but being tight walleted he went for the cheaper all in one  When the car comes and i get chance to smear this stuff all over the seats i'll let you know how i get on. Chris
  5. Hi Craig, Thanks for the support and email :) Glad to hear you got your phone kit sorted 8) The screen will be changed Tuesday so if the noise persists i'll send the MD a fax and see if that gets things moving. I feel once this is sorted I will be ok as the cars been great. One thing is for sure - when 10 years time comes round and I change car I will not be buying another Ford. If they can persist in allowing their dealerships to continue in treating their customers like something stuck to their shoe once the sale is completed I won't want to know about their cars. Now I know why Ford don't
  6. Hi Craig, Have you ever heard of people using orange oil for car leather interior? Reason I ask is I've seen stuff made of orange oil advertised on shopping channels on satellite TV and would be ideal for keeping the car smelling fresh if it also helped keep your leather clean and supple. The stuff they had on TV was for leather sofa's etc so would think it should be ok for car perhaps? I'll go have a rummage through cleaning cupboard as I know we have some orange oil cleaning products. Will post any info if I find something suitable for you. Warm Regards, Chris
  7. The impact point can be seen just above the thick part of the base end of the wiper in the black part of the screen. Sorry I could'nt do better but with rain and taking piccys of glass being difficult anyway this is best I can do till rain stops. Was unable to do from inside as lights outside made exposure not want to play ball. I'll try again tomorrow against something dark outside for drivers viewpoint. Chris
  8. Hi Ian, Nice to hear from you :) Keeping my cheeks firmly nipped together ;) The saga so far: I went down to the dealer yesterday as they wanted to refit my windscreen. I left if with them for a few hours when I got a phone call to say that they could not do the job as I had a stone chip. I discussed this with them and asked them if they could fix it for me. This they said they could not as it had developed into a six inch long crack! Asked if they can replace windscreen. Nope - Will have to sort out when I get home with my insurance company. No further help available, though the
  9. Hi Craig, Sorry to hear your suffering at the hands of your dealer :( I too have had problems, but with my LCD display saying "low fuel" every time I start the car and says 0 miles left till empty! This clears after about ten seconds but did not do this before the garage said they "recalibrated" something? My car goes in tomorrow for its screen to be sorted so will update my thread(s) and let you guys know how im getting on. Chris
  10. Hi Craig, I've just been doing some motorway today and i got 40mpg. My previous tank was 33mpg mainly town work/short trips. Couldn't resist using the gas pedal like a kid shaking a pop can, followed by pulling ring pull to release the rush  This was my first time with the car on the motorway and i was very impressed with the way the 2.0 CDTi makes it effortless and quiet :) When i go down to Northampton next week i'll try doing the light footed approach and let you know if its any better. Do these diesels get better mpg with age? vitrocmax - has me puzzled too as with all that fuel
  11. mpgrant5 - Sounds like you need that looking at at another garage perhaps? I just hope you never run out of petrol because of it :( I could be wrong but does it say in the manual that all lights should go off in the tacho cluster once engine has started?
  12. vitrocmax - congrats, nice looking motor m8. Thanks for the tips on the jpeg compression. Did'nt realise you could alter it 8) I've done some photo's for jimjams below. Hope he approves :D Yum, much approve of ghia, black and privacy glass 8)
  13. Hi mpgrant5, Have you considered taking it to another dealer and seeing how they diagnose it? Be interesting to see if two dealers sing the same song. I've never seen my light come on for fuel warning apart from when switching ignition on. I have had one dealer tell me that if you run a petrol C-Max at nearly empty it will trigger the engine warning light to flicker on and off at random till its been reset on the computer. Have you been running your tank at less than 50 miles till empty? Chris
  14. Hi CJ_TDCI, When I visited a VW dealership last week one of the salesman told me that my C-Max's 2.0 TDCi is the same engine as in the VW Sharan? Don't know if this is true but may be a lead for your info. Chris
  15. Sorry the pictures not too good but should give you an idea where to look. Chris
  16. Hi vitrocmax, Sorry to hear your having problems too :( When I saw the picture of that speaker! The switch looks ok I guess but that speaker is a shame. When I was cleaning my cars interior the other day i noticed on the console plastic under/around the steering column there is a circular area of cutout plastic slits that I thought may be to let sound out of a speaker mounted the other side. Just wondering if this is where the factory fit beeper goes? Maybe your dealer could pop the speaker in there? Do you think they will replace the plastic trim they've drilled at the back for th
  17. I think it states in the manual that you must not use 100% Biodiesel with the TDCi engine. Below this it says that you can use the Blends where the biodiesel content is no more than 5%. I've currently got Shell's Optimax Diesel which is one of these blends and it runs fine. Can you buy 100% Biodiesel?
  18. lol  I wonder how long it will be before start to see bodykitted C-Max'es, chipped, custom interiors, neons, boom box, 21" alloys. Oh yeah, and little chavette in the passenger seat with loose jaw syndrome. Its only a matter of time
  19. lol  I'll see if i can put something together and give you a well earned rest
  20. peterdee - Nice work. I wonder if there's a similar resource for doing interior shots of all the colour combo's of interiors? I know the Peugeot site does but I can't find anything on Ford's webby :(
  21. I had a drive round today in the car and it seemed fine but being windy outside i didnt notice the wind noise. Wheels are in motion in writing so will see what comes of all this. Funny you should mention the Volvo. I too have been wondering if I should have gone for another car. I had a test drive in a Passat Highline PD130 the other day and I would seriously consider getting one if the C-Max ends up going back due to dealer being arrogant and not playing ball out of spite. My dads Passat should be with us in 8 weeks time so will be interesting to drive the two every day for comparison. Only t
  22. Update:- Copy of letter on its way to dealer: Will let you guys know what the reply is. Chris
  23. You've got some patience with that experience :( I remember when i was shopping around locally all the dealers were falling over themselves to sell me a pre reg 2003 car with delivery miles. Has me wondering if these are all the reworked rejects like the one you never received? I had heard of the ABS problems so thought it best to hang in there for a recent 04 car. The prices they were prepared to do these cars for made me laugh. Talk about trying to locally gerrymander the regions pricing. Its about time these dealerships were cut off at the neck and made to deal in response to market for
  24. Cheers Craig for the moral support and advice :) We'll see what becomes of all this tomorrow. I'll let you guys know what the outcome is. Chris
  25. That card holder puzzled me too. Noone in their right minds is going to store their credit cards in there. Shame they had not put something more beneficial in its place. Careful you don't let your young un see you trying your pop bottles or you'll come back to the car one day with young un having forced 3 litre bottle in busting the plastic with a big smile on his/her face
