  1. Cheers vitrocmax, Yeah I didn't want to play with removing panels but have come to the conclusion there's no way round it. Heh, now I remember that thread. Looking at where they popped the sensor, guess they were too lazy to look on the TIS about where the factory one goes. The aftermarket one could go in there too and i'm hoping that I can get it wired in from the parking sensor loom i'm also hoping is living in there just taped up. Heh, clutching at straws  Have you seen where your aftermarket dealer fit ones were wired at the back?
  2. Lol, another fault  Luckily m8 this time i'm immune  Got a Zetec 8) I'll check anyway, thanks :D Photobuckets looking down m8 - you need some temporary hosting support? PM me if you would like it popping up. Chris :popcorn2 :drinking: :shocked!:
  3. Hi Ian, If your dealer is being like that with you maybe it would be worth considering ringing round some other dealers till you find one that will be straight with you and let them do the warranty work. Also let Ford Customer Relations Centre know about your dealer being like this with you. They may be able to help put you in touch with another dealer that would be more sympathetic to helping you like I did. I recently had a long chat with a manager at FCRC and they told me they want to know about these dealers and their bad behaviour. If they get enough complaints about a dealer then som
  4. Hi bennie, Welcome to the forum. I'm curious - did you get told this by your dealer? If so I would take it with a pinch of salt. Could be their way of trying to put over the fault as being of little consequence. Sounds better telling you its a clip that needs sorting rather than the ECU/PCM. If you need to know up to the minute info without the FUD may be worth ringing Ford Technical - 09065533447. Be careful though as its a £1/minute! :shocked!: Sad thing is the people on that helpline have been the only people who have been straight with me with my dealings  Ortho - I think Antmat
  5. Hi ortho, You must be the guy over @ parkers who posted in one of my threads over there? Nice to see you over here m8 :) Your loan car sounds like mine was like before it getting fixed this last week. If my cars anything to go by you should have nothing to worry about, fingers crossed, as all the faults you've noticed have been fixed on my car. Mine now drives very smoothly and has no hiccup in the power delivery and appears to be adhering to the Urban figures for mpg for my motor which I guess is to be expected. At least you know what to look for when you test drive your new motor before si
  6. Doh, I skimmed the post, didn't realise Ford have already agreed to the change. 8) If FCRC have agreed to the application from the dealer and you are prepared to pay for the mileage charge will they not accept your request for a refund of the balance like Justice says? May be worth popping the above request in writing to your assigned contact @ FCRC and cc the dealer. Be interested to hear the outcome of this as my car, though ok now is on delayed stay of execution  incase any of the faults ressurect themselves  Justice - you are better at clarifying than me m8  Chris
  7. Hi mjmcmax, I feel your pain m8 as I too found this also to be very long winded :( From what I was informed by FCRC your car has to have a fault that has been attempted to be fixed on three seperate occasions (seperate bookings). If this does not occur then FMC under the terms of their commitment plan have obliged themselves to offer you a replacement vehicle. The mileage charge they will charge you shall be 11p per mile. The application in paperwork has to come from your originating dealer for the commitment claim. FCRC will not liaise directly with you on deciding this :( Pick a persiste
  8. Been looking on my PC and found a section regarding the factory fitted setup that may be helpful:- This shows the module, speaker and end of loom :) To get to this you would need to remove the boots right hand side panel (one with the light and power socket). If we get a dry spell in the next couple of days i'll have a go at removing the panel to see if the loom in the picture above is there. If it is I can see my multimeter coming out to play while someone sits holding the car in reverse  Will update how I get on as i'm sure that someone will find this useful. Chris
  9. Hi wizbongre, That would freak me out - hope you havn't broken something? :( If you struggle you could always disconnect the battery for a while perhaps to get it working again? I've had a right good play with mine and in no way can I get it to work like the smaller Foci but fortunately my central locking is still working. Guess I will have to bribe a dealer with offer of order for loads of accessories if they do it for free  Chris
  10. Hi tmaxx, You ordered without test driving? :shocked!: If you ordered within the last 4 weeks may I recommend first chance you get go have a test drive, infact insist on it to your dealer. You would be within you rights to cancel your order as you have a 28 day cooling off period IIRC. You won't be dissapointed as everyone says but you really need that test drive m8, even if it means you winging one playing prospective buyer somewhere  Chris
  11. Thanks for the helping hand vitrocmax - appreciated :) I'm puzzled why they fitted the live to your ignition switch as all others i've seen they just connect it to the reversing light circuit. Probably got something to do with the current draw with you having both front and rear I guess. The quanan's recommend fitting to the reverse lighting circuit for the rear only model i'm looking at. In the picture below i've rung the terminal you have yours connected to in yellow for reference. Looking on the wiring diagram I felt that anywhere after the switch for the reverse gear light would have bee
  12. polus - I don't think I could cope with them myself :( What you using to clean your wheels m8? I was using that acid wheel cleaner but after hearing horror stories about it just use soapy water for now, hence the dislike for cleaning them :(
  13. Right, i've had a good sniff over the wiring diagram above and am thinking that its the "C91 Central Junction Box" that I should be attacking. If anyone can let me know how and where to get to this Central Junction Box be grateful for the info. Cheers, Chris :drinking:
  14. polus - I would like to watch you clean them ;) Especially if you are female  :sofa
  15. Hehe, funny you should mention wheel trims. I saw an old Scenic full of Chavs the other week and it had wheel trims on just like the 10 spokers above! If it hadn't been for one of them missing I would not have noticed they were fake  Maybe we should be looking at getting a set of LX steel wheels and popping on lookalikes
  16. I'm looking at sourcing a quanan reverse parking sensor kit as in the this linky - http://www.parking-sensor.co.uk/order/1840s.htm Looking at the length of the leads etc on that kit i'm wondering if it would be possible to get this all wired in at the front of the car without butchering any wiring or removing loads of interior plastics from the rear, just snuggling the wiring under the carpet. The wiring diagram for the reversing lights:- If anyone who is electrically minded can offer me any advice as best place to consider looking first with consideration for the wiring diagram and the phy
  17. tdbbci - rather than the tuning I wonder if it may be more useful to suss out how to get a cold air feed into the CMax? I had a look in my engine compartment today and haven't been able to suss out where the air is coming from to go into the airbox. Heh, I can't even tell which is the airbox. Reason I say this is I did notice during the hot weather that my CMax really suffered when it was hot and the power delivery took a noticeable clobbering. I'm just wondering if the air intake is just from inside the engine bay? Chris :drinking:
  18. Hi fraggle, You may be right about the Europe only thing though I could have sworn other European Foci owners have had this working like you describe. As for self setup - I'm wondering if it may be because Ford want to offer more support to their dealers, by preventing their customers from doing this themselves, and allowing their dealers to charge for this to be done on the WDS setup instead as a money maker? I've yet to hear of a CMax owner enabling this themselves after the ECU update in July that supposedly added this function. Anyone got this working on their CMax?
  19. Hi [3]nzO!!!, Welcome to the forum :) Someone with a car to be wearing my favourite alloys - you have my undivided attention  When are you due to pick up your car m8? Please don't forget us and deny us a look at your cars shoes. ;) I was thinking the slightly darker colour would go well with the Rosso Red of my car but you have me worried now that it will look not right :( Be great if you would not mind posting in this forum when you get your car. We need more input in this forum to liven it up a bit. Look forward to seeing pictures of your car if you don't mind? No worries m
  20. Cheers steamvalve, We just need to get Justice and disney_cjd sorted and we'll be one happy family fingers crossed 8) :drinking: - Have a virtual one on me m8  No driving after mind. 8)
  21. I've been looking over the Ford accessories catalogue and there's plenty of options but I am finding it very hard to find owner pictures showing these off on their cars  Here's the list for those without the catalogue:- My current :hearts is for the 7 spoker 18"ers :hearts :hearts If anyone has any pictures of CMax's with the above or different bling alloys be grateful for the piccys. If anyone has trouble hosting piccys let me know and i'll help out. Cheers, Chris
  22. Thanks Peter, Guess I will have to do it the old fashioned manual way :silly: Was worth a try :D Thanks for the help anyway :) :popcorn2 :drinking: :shocked!:   Cheers, Chris
  23. Hello again, Just been having a right good play with my door lock handle and no joy :( Looks like a call in to the dealers on my travels and some parting of cash. I wonder if there is a way to do this with the Toad alarm? I know that if I press the unlock button on that while car is unlocked and unarmed the doors automatically lock when the engine starts. Problem is it does not repeat if car pulls up, someone gets out and you then pull away. Chris
  24. Hi stvuk, Welcome to the forum :) Please don't feel you need to lurk m8 ;) Be nice to get some input as this forum can get a bit quiet at times  Don't let us whingers put you off  Going to be a sweet looking motor - any chance you could pop up a picture when you get it? Don't forget to badger us with questions  I know how you feel m8. When I got my car back yesterday it was like getting it new all over again  Idea m8 - you don't fancy thos big 18" alloys that are shown on the accessories catalogue cover do you? Would look sweet and would satisfy my need to see a p
