  1. I agree m8 for the 3 & 5 door but ............ With the old Foci the wagon was :whatever This new one is the other way round - wagon :hearts , hatch :whatever I also liked that Audi 'esque lookin saloon :hearts Shame they didn't carry that styling into the final car :( Sorry for attempted derail of the thread
  2. Craig - http://www.focusmania.com/Persoonlijke.htm C-Max gets squatted and taken from behind by Seat Leon
  3. Cheers tdbbci, I was just wondering if the oil on the jetex may be playing with you MAF sensor? Be interesting to what happens. Geordie Mick in Wigan - TDCi Focus beating me! Should have elaborated more ;) Definately is slower as the torque steer has gone :(
  4. Cheers Justice :) Just hope I won't need the litigation m8. I'm 90% certain, after taliking to the dealer I bought from today, they are going to do me a deal to get me into another motor. If things don't work out though hope you won't mind me badgering you and taking you up on the contact offer. I thought it most interesting that Ford decided not carry over the Ford/PSA TDCi to the Mondeo ST TDCi/GhiaX 2.2. Even Peugeot havn't carried it over from the afflicted 307 2.0 HDi to the new 407. Hmmm? I do not want a Peugeot lump for the long term :( I've totally lost confidence in the PSA motor a
  5. http://www.whatcar.com/News_SpecialReport.asp?NA_ID=207800 Looking at that list I would presume the Toyota Corrola Verso would be a good buy. Word of warning smoggy - Buying a C-Max at present is a lottery as many people are finding out to their frustration. If you get a faulty vehicle, how long till it gets fixed to your satisfaction? Will it get fixed? What do you do if it is not fixed and Ford feel that it is satisfactory and you do not? Do you fancy having to do your own PDI? Do you trust a manufacturer who takes nigh on six months to address faults with their motors? Do you trust the
  6. Sorry m8 but neither can be trusted from my recent experiences. The brokers will more than likely put your sale through a Fleet supplying dealer. The local dealer will love you then leave you once they've had your money. Personally I would choose my manufacturer FIRST, then which car from that manufacturer. I've seen a list of how the manufacturers fared. I'll pop it up when I find it. Chris
  7. Craig is this the one your on about? https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco2/index.jsp
  8. Hi Craig, Would you like to share the linky with us? 8) Be nice to have another weapon in my arsenal ready for deployment   Look forward to hearing what repsonse you get m8 as i'm sure there are plenty of others waiting to follow suit :2gunfire: Time for the consumer to get his own back and stand up for his consumer rights 8) Wish you luck m8, Chris
  9. Hello again guys, What are Ford on? It clearly states on the Trading Standards site that resolution of faults are to be sorted within a reasonable time period, then you have the right to ask for refund or replacement if within a certain time period. I was lead to assume that a reasonable time period according to a court in matters like these would be 28 days for consumer items, yeah? So if you find a fault with your car which is not in keeping with what anyone would expect with a new product, Ford acknowledge the fault and you kindly wait over 5 months for a fix, this is reasonable? Be inter
  10. Hi tdBBci, Glad to hear things have worked out for you :) I am curious about your lumpy tickover - is this caused by the cotton filter? Chris
  11. Hi smoggy, I currently have a 2.0 TDCi and reckon average mpg is about 37. If I had the petrol I would probably be getting low 30's. When I recently worked out the cost comparison for the diesel vs petrol over 10 years of ownership, purchase cost differential, 8000 miles per annum, all servicing, fuel differential, resell value at the end of the ownership term:- The 2.0 Petrol would cost £1200 more spread over the 10 years to own and run all in compared to the Diesel 2.0 TDCi. I currently feel more happy going with the proven platform engine which is the Duratec Petrol motor. Now if Ford w
  12. Another thankyou :) Will pop my long list up there too. Its about time the manufacturer was held to account by shaming for their lack of quality control. Chris
  13. Hehe, cheers for the encouragement Justice :) Surprisingly the dealer I bought the car from is gagging to do the change  Even if Ford do the dirty I can see the dealer still wanting to take my car as a chop on a replacement. I will find out more next week all being well. Thats what I was thinking when I ordered the car 6 months ago. If only I had known what I now. It surprises me the number of people who are prepared to take the risk on buying a CMax with the current Ford corporate mindset  I guess thats part of the fun of buying a motor   Siiiiiiigh :puppydoge
  14. Hehe, that and the thought of what the seals on that big piece of glass would look like  The monkeys on the production line would have a field day fitting it
  15. Cheers for the info guys :) After seeing Craigs thread I think the wheels are off the list :( Guess I should just be thankfull that Ford made it possible for me to own one of their vehicles  It saddens me now how cynical I am becoming over my motor. Almost past caring about it now :(
  16. Craig - I feel for you m8. Is there any chance you can afford to chop the motor in for another make? My experience with my car cost them a sale as my old man swiftly decided against their marque after my experience, and went for another manufacturer and has not regreted it. My experience will lead to me not buying another Ford motor, new or used. This strikes me as short term'ism on Ford's part and does not impart confidence in the purchase and continued ownership of a Ford motorvehicle. They've had your money i'm sad to say and speaks volumes of their corporate mindset. What faults have you
  17. Cheers Justice, I was puzzled why Ford had a section listing the car but no build your own. Probably Ford getting a bit fed up of all the special orders clogging up their production lines when they have loads sitting in a field or two. Don't know why they don't just release a model with all the toys and kit and offer it with no options. Hmmm? The more I look at that concept car I do wonder why they have not made one just like it available. It does look the bees knees. Oh well. :multi:
  18. Ford have almost got it right with the "Ultima" :) Though I do wish they had gone the whole hog and put the 18" bling shoes on it with the snazzy roof from the concept car :( :bowdown Craig - I thought the Ultima had never been on the "build your own". I missed out on all the build my own ultima fantasy clickfest :(
  19. Hi Craig, Was the fuel light fix a reprogram of the console cluster? This is what they attempted on my motor, and after 3 failed attempts my cluster was rendered bin material! Just curious as to whether their reasoning was genuine. Chris
  20. Hi, Just been perusing the CMax accessories catalogue and noticed some fine looking 7-spoke design 7.5 x 18" alloys :D With my saga and negotations with FMCUK, in the event I actually manage to get my car back totally fixed in the next couple weeks, I fancy making myself a shopping list of goodies I would like as recompense for my expense in time and money in sorting my faulty motor. So I could do with finding out how much these alloys would cost with tyres. If anyone can let me know the damage for these wheels be grateful. Cheers, Chris
  21. Hi cmax_bck, Your problem is the same as mine :( I'm currently waiting for mine to have this and the hesitation @ 1750 rpm sorted but due to parts shortage will have to wait 3 weeks :( I've been reading up on the Mondeo and it had a similar problem which was down to faulty EGR valves not actuating in a timely fashion, so causing the ECU/PCM to readjust to compensate causing reduced performance, stutters in power delivery and so on. Every time the ECU/PCM software is updated it resets the learning of the ECU/PCM for a while till the system learns to compensate again, then your back at square
  22. NJTDCiSport - Not again! I do wonder if someone is popping on the wheels with an airgun? I've noticed with cars in the past when you have tyres changed they sometimes belt the nuts back on way too tight. Sometimes you can really struggle to undo them if you get a puncture by the roadside. It may be worth your m8 hanging onto his car repaired in the hope it happens again. Three recurring faults like he's had and Ford cannot refuse to change the car to one of your m8's choice. After reading what Justice said about Ford screwing over their suppliers, I guess they may have just got a bat
  23. Hi Mark, You could ask your dealer what they're prepared to offer to keep you from cancelling your order and requesting your deposit back as they are not keeping their end of the order agreement. Don't let them tell you verbally that they'll give you this or that because they will forget they ever said it once the car arrives. Ask them if they fancy giving you 2500 Air Miles. VW just rang my old man this morning offering him 2500 Air Miles as a thankyou for buying a car from them. Hope you get something out of it as a thankyou for kindly agreeing to support their company by buying one of the
  24. I think thats Ford's way of saying they won't commit themselves incase you decide to visit a solicitor over the matter for a refund. If that happened to my car I would be wanting rid asap as I would not have any confidence in the cars safety. Did Ford offer you an apology and/or any compensation? Look forward with interest to the outcome of this one. Warm regards, Chris
  25. NJTDCiSport - Hi, have you got access to a torque wrench? Maybe worth checking that someone has not overtightened the nuts? That sounds like a catastrophic failure and I hate to think the result of a wheel coming loose at speed. Have Ford said they were looking into the root cause of this? FYI the wheelnuts should be tightened to 85 Nm. Chris
